Been a long time player of this app, but now getting ads at the start of games & the end. The ads also run for longer than it takes to actually solve the sudoku puzzles. The latest update is terrible 😢 UPDATE: Received a stock standard response to use the paid version to avoid ads. Ads have always been a part of the free version, that's a given. But, NOT THIS MANY ADS, or THIS LONG. I need to clear apps off my phone, I guess this one is added to the mix now 😔
Previous rating of 5, now 1 after update. The ads used to run once after each game, with a 5 second timer to X out. Now ads run BEFORE & AFTER each game & require 2 clicks to X out. I understand ads pay for the game, but making them more annoying and doubling the frequency is too much. EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: Again, I get the need for ads, but 2 per game PLUS having to stop the video and then exiting the ad is ridiculous. This makes me play far less, which means less ad revenue = bad business!
I've considered this 5* for a long time. It's one of the few sudoku apps that supports auto hints. Their algorithm to determine a real error vs an accidental click is awesome. However, a recent update added a leaderboard. Not itself a bad thing, but be fairer, they added a time penalty of 3 minutes if you use the auto-hints. For new players, probably not annoying, but this messes up my own stats to compare my own performance. I'd like to opt out of leaderboards and remove the penalty.
Loved it until the last update 4-2022. Now , in pencil mode,you can't distinguish wrong from right. I use "wrong" pencil marks to highlight correct cells (there is no other way to "highlight" That just messed up the entire game for me. Fix it fast,or I'm moving on, that'll mean, no add clicks for you.
Update 2: in response to dvlpr reply, installed & tried again. Gray to blue highlights. Nope. Lost ALL stars. Uninstalled. Buhbye Update 1: Lost 2 *s when "highlighted" numbers went from yellow to, what fresh hell is this, gray. Painful, frustrating & uninstalled. 1st RVW: enjoyed highlighted numbers w update. Like the long press on the pencil for autofill. Love the daily challenges!
For some reason the most recent update messed with the time, and adds over 3 minutes to my time right after I start a game. Plus the new number colors for the notes is the same as other colors on the board which makes them hard to see.
I have found this app a great version of sudoku. I personally enjoy the added functions that highlight individual numbers. There are ads with the free version, but they are not so cumbersome as to make gameplay miserable.
Update 5/25/2022: Devs got greedy and decided to double their ad revenue by inserting a second set of ads BEFORE gameplay. What was once the cleanest and best Sudoku game out there is now just an ad trash app. Find a different Sudoku app to play. I will be. || This is my go-to for Sudoku. Ads only after the completion of a level, and then they are generally very short, and skipable after a small amount of time. Dev seems to have genuine concern for the player experience over revenue generation.
Was a good choice initially. Ads were moderate. Uninstalling and downgrade rating as ads frequency increased with an additional action to rid the adds too. The purchase price for this app is also not competitive.
Uninstalling due to ads that were part of the newest update. Ads at the beginning of the game are counted against your time in the game! Really? So you lose up to 30 seconds of game time which is counted against you!
I really like this app; nothing fancy, just sudoku that can be played off-line if you need to. Ads aren't bothersome. Challenging too - even the easy ones! I particularly like being able to have the pencil as a second line and having the ability to 'lock' it when filling more than one space. No fuss, no frills - just right! Thanks, developers, good job ☺️
On blue theme option, the selected possible numbers are now highlighted in blue background not purple. Makes it very hard to distinguish. Please change back.
Changed rating from 5 to 1: ads at the start of a game are intrusive and while the ad runs, the timer runs also. From a positive experience to a negative one, all for profit!
Used to be great, but the latest update causes the timer to jump like 3 minutes, and the highlighting is impossible to differentiate from the other colors on the grid.
Until now there where only ads when completing a game. I could have lived with that. But since 2 weeks there are also ads when starting a game. TL;DR Wow, more ads. Uninstalled.
What the heck happened since the last update? The game went from a well thought out math puzzle to an ad serving platform that also happens to contain a game. Well thanks, no thanks. Bye bye.
Interface seems like it was designed by drunk monkeys. Speed is a critical factor in the game, yet we've decided to reinvent the numeric keypad and place the on/off button in a position where it is guaranteed to get bumped as your hand hovers over it constantly. Update: new forced color changes utterly ruin what little remained of the interface. Uninstalled.
15-02-2020 Good UI controls, not the best but good. Updated 22-12-2021 Hey so the new update just dropped. I've been using this app practically everyday (though I don't do the daily challenges myself) and I've gotten pretty decent at sudoku. Really grown to love the UI and the controls. Just one thing, I wish I had more control over the themes, e.g: when my penciled numbers are highlighted I can change that color. Also show the remaining digits while I'm in pencil mode. But hey I love the app!
It has the nicest display of all the Sudokus I've tried. I wish we had different trophies from year to year, though. 🙂
It was ok with the adds they had. But now they are pushing it. It's time to find another sudoku . I have played over 1300 hours on this game, I think you made enough money. It's time to delete it.
Great game lots of levels from beginners to extreme there is a daily challenge each day finish all the challenges in a month and receive a trophy
Previously a 5 star review, I had to give this new update a 1 star because the format is very different and makes it more difficult to play. I liked the one before the update.
Advertisement everywhere. It used to be best sudoku game I play. Been playing for years now. Unfortunately greed of the creator took over and now you get ads nonstop. Terrible.
I've enjoyed this app for quite a while but recently the ads have become too annoying. Uninstalling.
Update down to one star now as the app doesn't even open!? Used to love it but the ads at the end are annoying. It's also started to glitch a bit now. No longer as enjoyable
The 3 minutes on the auto fill is fine. CHANGE THE HIGHLIGHTED COLOR SCHEMES BACK, THEY ARE NOW TOO HARD TO SEE. Loved this game till last update.
Loved this game until the recent "update" trashed the yellow highlighted noted numbers to grey!!! Why??? Why would you do that? They are so hard to see now it makes no sense.
Apr 9, 2022 update: A recent update has inserted ads before-and-after most puzzles. These ads are uninterruptible, 30 seconds or more, and are not even properly fitted to the screen. It is unclear how to exit some of the ads or they don't even allow you to exit causing you to have to close game. (Recent Samsung, up to date Android OS). Uninstalling, with regret. Simple but elegant, everything is clear and clean. There is not a whole lot of waste and best of all, as promised... No ads!
