Tldr this company seems like its on its last legs, don't bother. My mom liked this app for a few years but starting about 6 months ago her iphone couldnt receive calls unless the app was open. I tried deleting and reinstalling to see if that would fix things, but app was no longer available in apple store. Tried downloading from google store to my andriod. Semi successful but app keeps crashing after "registering". Numerous emails to support gone unanswered. I'm switching her to another carrier.
Not working very well, I pay for this service and still very bad service, phone calls are missed constantly, texts are spotty. This is aan excellent idea with poor execution. Using a Oneplus phone.
Can't receive verification message from Airbnb. Poor voice quality for calling major companies' customer service. Tried calling several banks and service suppliers, never a single time was it clear sounded. Ended up calling from Skype instead. VERDICT: Go with public Mobile's $25 1g plan!
great service and best price ever. works all over north america. it really came in handy when i was in the united states and i needed to download a map for my grandma.
Don't use this app, their parent company and by proxy this one have abandoned Canada and are planning to be a us only provider, avoid sugar mobile, you will not get good service. Look up iristel's recent response to the the CRTC ruling on the 15th of this month, they have stated their intent to leave the Canadian market.

Good value phone service, but transitioning between wifi and cell service is not smooth. It seems to require cell data on (I would prefer to leave cell data off until I choose to use it! Can't see how to use speakerphone. There is no multimedia messaging provided with the app. Another problem is that voice calls can be intermittent over cell data connection, and your connection can be terminated unexpectedly. Clearly the app can be described as sub-par at best. It needs improvement!
It was great at the beginning, now all kinds of issues.When calling in it will straight to voice mail, keep getting error reports,can't call out says not responding, call cut off within a few min in the call,now getting a notification saying not authorized LOL holy man what next I wonder.Sent emails to customer support with no response so will give it a few more days for them to explain what's going on and if no satisfaction I will say by by.
Unless you live in QC, Yukon, NWT, or Nunavet you can't use the roaming service which basically makes this app another wifi calling app. It's also a sub-par wifi calling app, half baked with buggy notifications, and a half polished UI. No picture messaging either. Most Canadians will want to pass on this and look elsewhere.
Using for almost a year.Most of the time phone screen won't work to answer calls, takes many trys to connect to use the phone .since update it won't connect at all to make a call . Horrible customer service

Ongoing issues with app without solutions being provided. Calls just get put on hold . Can not answer calls. Using app on Note3. Just down graded it to a 1 star. Latest updated totally messed up my contacts list. Fixed some uses so rated higher . They kept their word.
I have a iphone app which it works great but when i changed to an android, i couldnt received any incoming call notification when i am in lock screen and while i am on different app. i only can see the call while in the sugar app. The text messaging works fine. I really hope they will acknowledge this and upgrade a better version.
It seems that is doing the job. I am in 30 days trial period. Customer service seems very nice and explained in details what i wanted to know. I only wish you have voicemail in trial period for testing. Unfortunately i had to delete from my phone because app caused phone screen to freeze and calls despite that are clear are unreliable to say the list. Do what you wish but i won't give any try more. Still they offer the service despite they have to close in a bit more than a month? It is quite wierd to say the least.
I hate this app it is so glitchy and slow and can't you can't use thus app if you don't have a created account
It's very inconsistent and for the last two days I haven't been able to receive calls unless the app is fully opened on my screen. Otherwise it doesn't go anywhere.
Sounded like a great app and almost ordered the Sim card.... but.... when I use a bluetooth headset the app will play the sound on my headset AND on my phone which is rather annoying
Needs work switching from convention to conversation. Gets stuck on one and have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling. Other than that your customer service is top notch and love your pricing.
Thanks sugar mobile. I am happy with sugar mobile. Not happy with ROGERS mobiles.
Its still rough and needs a lot of polish. Scaling and UI is inconsistent.

Sugar mobile is pretty great for those who don't use their phone often or at work often. Customer service is pretty great too. The app is getting better. Sometimes calls get weird but not too often or only in low service zones
The latest update is much more stable.
It's a good app
Money savings but you have to have a reliable wifi to enjoy unlimited calling and texting. Data included is merely enough. Lots of free VoIP app out there with better features and you don't pay a dime. Sugar mobile has yet to release a better version of their app. I will be porting out my number the service at the moment is very unreliable.
The app has a lot of bugs like not being able to make outgoing calls, or answer or hear incoming calls. Functionality is poor. Getting anything fixed is frustrating and slow. It takes a week to get a response from "support" and it's typically just something like "try to update or re -install the app".
