It hasn't been updated for seven years, but still does the job very well.
I figured legend would give some explanation as to what the different colored lines meant, not random terms (I'm pretty sure we all know what daytime on earth is). I assume the dotted orange lines mean dawn and dusk, when the sky is still lit but the sun is below the horizon? Please, better definitions on how to read the diagram and I will up to 5 stars. Thanks
The legend is still wrong. The descriptions for the red and magenta lines need to be swapped.
The golden hour in photography is one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. The orange lines are not indicators for the golden hours.
I just installed solar panels and this helps my calculations. If only it helped rule out the time before sunrise and sunset when the sun is below the mountains...
Fast and well designed, at least for a common user. Installed on Android 4.0.1 Jelly Bean.
I like its easy function. I have been using for years. Still works great on Android 11
It would be nice for several things, first a side picture of current sun elevation (bottom left of screen), able to switch time (a slide switch), and a hourly table, a refresh button...
It's 14:44 on 22/6 in Hong Kong, but the sun is shown as under the horizon and it's night time? The green arch looks wrong. Something must be wrong, either the legend or how I read it. The hours' dial is showing the time at night, which is useless.
Doesn't work. All of the numbers are wonky. Negative times(for example: -5:-6) incorrect calculations, etc
Don't know how to calibrate...
Love it
Simply great
Tells me what I want to know, in easy graphical format, and no unnecessary frills.
Love it. I can zoom into my house and see where the sun will be today as well as a given date. I find it best to lock the screen to north.
App shows sunrise of 01:59. Are you kidding me? Also shows day duration of 12 hr. It's the summer solstice for Pete's sake. We are getting 15 or 16 hours of daylight were we are located.
Not so good for travelling, rise/set times are not in local time when in Explorer mode. They retain the time standard of where you are located.
I turned off sat view and this works great for seeing the summer & winter points of sunset! Purple & red colors really help to see the ranges of the seasons.
Shows info based on map or GPS. Small, free, no ads. I'd like a faster way to change date or just move one day forward/back.
I particularly like how there is zero explanation of what the lines etc on the map are. What are the dotted lines? You'll have to guess. The pink semicircle? You'll have to guess. And so on.
A explanation on how to read the chart markings would be nice.
would need a better explanation what the different colors and shapes of zhe lines mean
Awesome app., can't wait til opening day of duck season to use.
This its a great tool, thanx
Does nicely what I expected it to do
Great idea and potentially useful for landscape photography, but it does not give the correct sunrise and sunset angles for the southern hemisphere.
One of the most informative things ever made. Useful in: Planning a solar installation; Learning the sun's schedule for a chosen date; Knowing the relative positions of earth, sol, and one's self. Let's have more like it
