Great app for me, camp set-ups, photography, & gardening. Getting very tempted with the pro version!
Not working properly on Pixel 6 pro, even unable focus camera. Pixel 3a is working perfectly
Exactly what I was looking for I'm surprised it doesn't have ads, wow... and it has all the features I was looking for, like times for blue light and moon position showing it all even with a graphic of the moon face. I gave it one less star because there's an unexpected behavior with the user interface where you change the sun position and then to put it back to the current time you have to close and reopen it.
Sun Locator is very expensive for what it does, and this free version is little more than a teaser as the user cannot even shift the date without buying the "pro" version, which is the first step in any actual value occurring, unless you've waited until the day of your interest to start your planning. Or if you'd rather not Google the sun's position right now and would rather have an app with a quirky interface that requires payment before becoming the least bit useful. Frustrating...
It says it's free but not usable without an upgrade. The date isn't changeable without an upgrade, so not good for planning ahead and the current date is incorrect, so pointless for using it today. If they'd just put a price on it, it would be understandable, but as is, I feel lied to by the promise of a "free" app. If possible I'd give it a -5 for wasting my time and false advertising.
Excellent app...full of useful functionality
Very informative with limitations. Needs the pro version to unlock all features. But the price is too high, which keeps increasing. Originally $5.49, then $7.49, and presently $7.99, all in this year (2020). Very disappointing.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but camera view does not seem to work. Map view runs through the 24 hours and shows the shadow changing through the daytime, with the yellow ball of the sun visible along it's path. The camera view shows the bottom of the screen dark and the top of the screen light, and when I hit the start button the view doesn't seem to change. I can see the sun's path, but even if I watch one spot on the path (say, in the east) for 24 hours, I never see the sun.
Interface is not exactly intuitive BUT there's lots of information for a free app. I would add sunup/sundown time on the widget, and a few more visual cues to indicate different modes/options that are available. Thanks! :)
I love using this app to determine the best times of day during the summer and winter to get outside and exercise! Since our summers here in North Carolina are brutally oppressive, even when it's not hot, I use information on the elevation of the Sun to make my decision about how early in the day to get out. I also really enjoy having the sunrise and sunset times at my finger tips for making decisions on family activities. I love love love this app!
I use it mainly to check for the position of the moon for night time photo shoots. It's also great for setting up for day time shoots to know where the light will be before getting on site.
It gives you a lot of information and options. I don't understand 98% of it but am finding what I do know about it today I am willing to put the time in it to learn for another day. The people that put the app together are very educated to take on the challenge to create a program this advanced. Wonderful app to enjoy.
Viewing the sun's path on a specific date is paid content
Very helpful with great amount of details and equipments.
Great app, sadly the widget is lacking - it updates only sometimes, so it's really inaccurate. Like half a day inaccurate. I don't know how to set it up better.
Tons of data. All free. No obtrusive ads with ability to upgrade if I choose, and the free version is still top notch. Very cool app. Bravo developers.
It's an awesome app for catching the sun in great photos!!😎
Installed the app onto my alcatel android and realised after paying for the upgraded version that I can't use it due to missing feature on my android (compass). I kindly got my costs reimbursed! This is great! Thank you! Gabriele
Awesome! I love the new camera view and map view, it's super intuitive, you can check where the Sun will be at any time of day, wherever you are! ❤️
Very practical and useful for amateur photographers that need to know when and where the sun will be. I recommend it. The UI could be a bit more modern. (Utterly useless for professional photographers that know and understand the movement of the sun/moon in the sky)
