Come back to rejoin sundance a year later after my original review, and to my surprise the app still won't work for me. I did everything customer support told me last year to do but it never worked. Shouldn't have re-joined. Like the review before I had zero issues until it updated and now I cannot get any videos to play.

This app does not work. The videos keep saying fail to play. This happens on my phone and on my firestick. Waste of money. There is also no help in the settings to speak to them about it. I did see in the setting that they sell your information. You have to go into settings and select foe them not to.

The app does not work. Videos will not play - only error message. Trailers play - makes no sense. I cancelled my membership. There is no point to continue. Very disappointed.

Misleading trial. I did the 7 day trial to check out a show. It is trying to charge me 3 bucks an episode anyway. I'm finding it difficult to cancel as well. Feels like a total scam. 0 stars if I could.

I downloaded the app with the 7 day free trial back in June 2021 Never had any issues. When September rolled around that's when I started to have major problems. App wouldn't open. Then it wouldn't stream to our chromecast. Now, December 2021, I'm not able to stream anything from this app. Trying to watch from my android is a hit and miss. Error codes and black loading screens. Very disappointing!!!

NO STARS, but it wouldn't let me post without atleast giving it one!!! This app didn't work! Nothing would play! No response to my complaints! I cancelled my subscription the same night, so they better not charge me! I think this may be a scam!!! Don't waste your time and money!!!

Worst streaming app. Activated the 7 day trial. After I did, it wouldn't let me click on anything to watch. Then I found out the app only streams in 720p maximum! What a joke this might have been acceptable back in 2005. Go out of buisness quick and quietly Sundance rest in peace.

This app is so incredibly frustrating! They have some very interesting looking programs to watch, but so far, everything ive tried to watch, just freezes for a split second, but does it over and over. Trying to watch any of their programs drives me absolutely nuts with the constant freezing and skipping. Luckily, im still in my 7 day free trial. I may try one or two more times, but i definitely wont buy if it doesnt get better.

Well, I had reviewed this after I installed the update, because afterward I had less problems than I normally do with getting in and finding the show I've been watching. Turns out it was only a one-time deal! Haha. Hopefully they really are working to make improvements to this app, because it could be great. Atm, sooo glitchy and problematic. The playback, the log in, the billing, how it starts you over every time at the beginning of season 1, or the beginning of the episode, etc.

The app is terrible! Constantly has errors in the middle of shows, if you can even get them to play! It also doesn't save your watching history properly, or at all!!! Just downloaded today and have since had numerous error messages that require the entire app to be shut down and restarted, even in the middle of watching a documentary. Extremely frustrating as it seems they have some good shows. I'll be cancelling, the same day as signing up! Horrible

Very frustrating. I was charged a year subscription for my supposedly free 7 day trial and I have not even been able to watch anything. Instead of the selected show playing, I have repeatedly been sent back to a screen to start a 7 day trial. After finally giving up and canceling my subscription, I received a message that my subscription will be canceled in one year and no refund will be given. BUYER BEWARE. You'll lose money.

Spend your money elsewhere, this app won't work consistently with my FireTV Stick no matter how many times I: reboot the stick, uninstall and reinstall the app, clear my cache, or any combination of all of these. Sadly I paid for the full year so now I'm stuck with it. They have good shows, but I can't watch any of them. So tonight I went back to streaming programs on reliable services like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime.

It was fine. I got the free trial just to watch No One Saw a Thing. It was excellent, for the record. I made this review just to counter all the reviews criticizing it because they said it's hard to cancel. I was concerned going in but was able to cancel with 30 seconds simply by going into my account on the browser instead of the app. Amazon Prime and Audible are both much harder to cancel on. I appreciate the free trial but there's not enough content to make it worth paying for. Good luck!

This is my second year of having this app, and at first I really liked it. However recently I am not able to access my account. When I log in it acts as though I don't have a subscription and refers me to the subscription screen. When I clicked on the yearly subscription it registered that I already have it. But it still won't let my access shows. I reached out to customer service and I'm still waiting heard back from them. Now when I go into the app it doesn't even load. So there's that. Smh.

I concur with previous posts. This app is trash. The stream keeps freezing, while the audio pays, and an error message keeps popping up, but there is no available upgrade. I feel this is purposeful. I only subscribed to keep up with the 2nd Season of A Discovery of Witches and can't even get to watch it. I would never pay additionally annually nor monthly for something that wouldn't even work on a trial basis. They need to just offer their programming through FiOS, Optimum, Spectrum, etc.

Cons: no closed captioning, autoplay, go back 10 seconds/go forward 10 seconds and I can't control it from my quick access toolbar without having to go to the app that has to load each time i open it. According to other reviews, people are having trouble canceling subscriptions. Only doing the trial for now and would consider subscribing if the app was user friendly. Pros: the content is superb 👌

Often doesn't play; I've restarted four times just now trying to play a show and it's still just trying to load. When it works, it doesn't auto play the next episode of a show, nor does it register when you've already watched an episode so you have to just remember where you left off. There are no subtitles offered on the android app, which is frustrating.

Save yourself the hassle and your money. I recently subscribed and after two months I came to the conclusion the shows and movies and not nearly as good as previewed so I tired to cancel my subscription. I ended up getting two additional charges and an email saying they are unable to find an account associated with my email. I logged into my account and sent them a screenshot of the email they have listed as my subscription email and they have yet to respond. I've since cancelled my card.

I subscribed last month and the app worked fine until it updated. Now I get an error message when trying to load a program on both my android and roku. I have contacted support after restarting my phone, unistalling and reinstalling the app. I did all their troubleshooting and it still doesn't work, they still have not gotten back. I just tried canceling my acct and was told by Google Play that I would not be receiving a refund. I should not be out $60 for a service I had for less than a month.

wish there was a download option on movies and shows do that didn't have to use so much data, but overall i love this app and haven't had any issues of buffering like others have stated, and also i read and selected the $6.99 monthly fee. make sure you select this one. the $6.99 monthly membership if you don't want charged for yearly. the first selection of $4.99 monthly is actually a yearly payment after the 7 day trial period. happy watching! 😉

If I could give zero stars, I would. I changed my password, and it still wouldn't let me log in, though they happily accepted a $6.99 debit for a subscription update, which I'm unable to cancel. I removed the app from my phone and though the subscription doesn't show up in my Google Play subscriptions, the debit is still processing. Avoid this app at all costs.

Despite having paid, or at least, having started the trial to subsequently pay, I cannot play anything from the app. I am redirected to pay for a plan, and then an error message tells me I've already paid for a plan. This happened on my phone as well as my friend's. You also can't cancel through the app. Perhaps one should ensure the basic functions of an app are operational before releasing it to the public.

As others have mentioned, this app is a scam. I tried a trial subscription and cancelled almost immediately, but I was charged for a year's subscription with no help from customer support. What they do is after you cancel, instead of cancelling they offer you a one month extension on the trial. THEY DON'T CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION. I thought Sundance was reputable, but they are not. Desperate for revenue, they are resorting to scam tactics. I have opened up a dispute with my credit card company.

I did a web search for documentary I wanted to watch and Sundance Now appears to be the only place to stream it. Created an account, signed up for the trial, and now can't find it. Went back to their website and the movie comes right up. Tried to watch on mobile browser and it directs you back to the app, which then gives the message "video can't be loaded". Don't list the movie on your site if I can't actually stream it... Very frustrating.

Plenty of good shows you don't find on other streaming apps. Unfortunately, I start a show, only watch a few episodes then when I go back another day to watch more it doesn't work. I get a "failed to play video" message. It takes several attempts to finish watching a series.

I love the content that Sundance Now offers, but this app is so frustrating to work with. The buffering/long loading times I encounter while opening the app, after selecting something to view, or whenever I rewind or forward while watching something ruins the whole viewing experience. If content doesn't load after 5 or so minutes, the app will just quit on its own. Pretty crappy to deal with this every time I want to cast something on my TV. PLEASE update this app so that it'll play seamlessly!

I have all of the major streaming services and none of them buffer. I can't even make it 5 minutes into the Jonestown documentary without it buffering at least 10 times. Glad I got the free trial. I would like to see this documentary and others, but cannot deal with all of the yellow spinning going on. Cancel and delete. EDIT: I really wanted to watch the Jonestown docuseries, so I pushed forward and finally into the 2nd episode it stopped buffering, but started again in the 4th.

Technical hurdles right off the bat. Never able to use the streaming service although the shows and content look very interesting to me. The customer service was very good and responsive. Although no resolution has been found yet and so , the technical team is working on the issue. I gave 1 star because I could not use the app although I am hoping the issue will be fixed soon and then I can really try out this streaming service. And I am sure will adjust the star rating accordingly.

I took the free trial, cancelled it two days in advance after receiving a notice, so I did it officially, and a charge is now on my credit card for a full year's subscription. Not fair, not right, Customer service needs to deal with this - its obvious from others that have had the same issue and problem. I had to give some sort of a rating, I said "hated it" because of this hassle with the charge on my card.

Had some decent documentaries and movies but I didn't feel it was worth keeping. I could NOT figure out how to cancel my subscription. I emailed customer support screen shots to show them the help instructions were incorrect and didn't match their website. Customer support replied to see the help page for instructions to cancel!! I just kept sending emails to cancel my subscription. I still have no idea how to actually cancel!!! So I don't recommend signing up unless you plan to pay to keep it.
