SunVox

after several hours of fumbling through aged tutorials with dated versions of the program, I found out it doesn't do what I need it to do. I am sure this is good for a lot of things but there are obstacles that keep this from having the best new user experience. It seems like a very intuitive program but it will expect you to go out of your way and research through external means on how everything actually works, instead of an inbuilt tutorial that is quite often found in most programs today. If you are like me you will find it hard to find specific information that might not be so prevalent to the average user. A better instruction guide built within the program would be excellent as it is not always a plus having to actually speak to someone to know what the program you purchase does to its fullest.

The UI is absolutely brutal to use on a tablet compared to a PC with a mouse+keyboard, even after you've learned and understood it. The engine is fantastic, and the sky is the limit as to what you can do. Excellent fine motor dexterity and lots of time/patience is required though. Really unique software, never got so much joy and frustration in a single bundle.

It's as good an interface as a DAW for a phone is ever gonna get, and you can open your project files on the desktop app which runs on almost as many things as the original Doom, no joke. Criminally underrated.

While this is easily the best sounding daw-thing on the app store, I personally find the UI to be very unintuitive. Much like the logo, parts of this app can feel like a strange monolith. (I probably just need to learn the UI more though.) The only thing I'd want out of this is a way to build a full synth from the ground up—picking oscillators and things like that without needing the various generators. Either way, I'd still recommend this over just about any other music app.

Sunvox really is an excellect midi tracker, multi soft synth, effects, etc; altho I agree with the other reviews that it really needs to be used on as big a screen as possible....and then it becomes quite epic :)

Great app, it can be endlessly complex or uber simple in it's capabilities. The fact that it's cross platform is a huge plus too. Starting something on your phone and finishing it off on your computer is always a welcome workflow enhancement. I personally love tracker interfaces so I'm glad to have that available to me on Android as well.

always loved how the music on this sounds, was just trying it on a newer chromebook and it doesnt run as well as it does on older slower chromebook or other devices I have

One of the most well programed and Multi cross platform music production programs out there with an insanely light footprint. I personally use android, iOS, Linux desktop and Linux phone. Been using for years and love it. Glad to see some new updates going down. I know this isn't a bug forum but I am having issues on this v2 version. I'm on a oneplus n200 5g. Upon opening the app continually glitches (visually). All different window or frame elements onscreen sort of glitch on and off over and over and at this point, I'm left with an unusable version. Unable to download or try a previous version or beta. Please help. Would love to get to work on some new stuff. Will send video.

It's super powerful, you can do virtually anything with it music production wise. But I have to take off 2 stars for having a note entering interface that really doesn't make sense for touchscreen devices. For example, It's got virtual arrow keys to make up for lack of keyboard, but we wouldn't need a keyboard if we could just tap where we want to enter notes. I guess that's not a problem for the majority of users, but it's just a poor design for a touchscreen app. It's a port of a pc program.

I just bought the android version to pay the awesome developer for this incredible software. I've used the windows version for a few years. Honestly, if Sunvox had a traditional interface, people would be throwing their wallets at the dev. But don't get me wrong, it's actually way more immediate this way, just give it a chance. I remember starting and thinking, "whoa, way too complex..." and 5 minutes later thinking, "whoa, so simple!" I was still wrong. I keep discovering more and more. Awesome

The best app for anyone who is looking for a portable music DAW. Lightweight, beautiful, fast, feature rich. Once you learn how the tracker system works, you're off making great music. The mobile app is the same as the desktop one so once you work on one platform, you can easily transition to the other. The cross platform support is insane and the programmer is musically gifted and kind. I recommend checking out some YouTube tutorials and songs people have made in sunvox :)

Excellent and versatile tracker worth every cent. The newly (Janurary 2020) added USB Midi support just rocks and turns my USB Midi keyboard into a powerful synthesizer. Support of mobile and desktop with exchangeable save files gives you access to your song wherever you are. Mobile version is the real thing and not a stripped down version. The user interface is quite unique, but based on simple principles. Once understood it makes working on your song easy.

I use it at my computer but decided to support the developer none of the less, amazing software.

Update: My previous rate was caused by my lack of understanding how module connections work on mobile version. Sorry for making the confusion. The app works flawlesly. The UI is really user friendly and the sound you can squeeze out from it is amazing. I love that the app utilizes the tracker for pattern making. I connect Sunvox with Orca for livecode jamming and it is a blast.

Seems like a very powerful and clever program. Interface is scary at first but is actually pretty efficient for what it is, after some tutorials and practice. The tracker sequencer is really different if you're more accustomed to a paino roll so there is a learning curve in that regard.

Great app for creating music! I wanted it to see if this was a viable option for me and was pleasantly surprised! It's perfect if you're interested in using or learning about a digital audio workstation. It had so much more to offer than what I was expecting. The modular functionality is amazing! The level of control and customization it offers is more than adequate. Also the website has a wealth of resources to help you get the maximum potential out of your musical ambitions. Don't hesitate!

It was really worth the money that I spent for this. I've used many different DAWs on android and this one is so fully packed with features that it could be overwhelming but after reading the manual and watching tutorials, I have gotten the hang of it.

The description says it all - it's indeed the most powerful music creation tool for Android. It's also a perfect tracker/modular synth blend that hits just the right spot in terms of UX and the variety of sounds you can get out of it.

I'm pretty new to making music in general, but I've been making all the music for my video game on my tablet, on sunvox. It's easy to pick up, super flexible, and the online community for it is incredibly helpful despite its small size.

It's a music editor that runs on everything, including smartphones, windows, Linux, tablets - with pretty much the same performance and the same sound. It's modular, but not extensible. A work of a genius programmer

I've been always wondering how a DAW mixed with a Tracker would look like. Well, here it is. This app is awesome! You can create music everywhere You are! Well there is not much to explain, You would need to try Yourself to see why it's so amazing!

Sunvox is one of the apps I always put on all my devices and it's definitely the most powerful and versatile music creation tool on mobile. Learning how trackers work will be the biggest hurdle for newcomers but it is so worth learning for access to the sonic playground that is Sunvox. There is not enough space to list all it's merits here but Alexander Zolotov is a genius and passionate programmer/developer and it really shows in all of his creations. You won't regret your time spent in Sunvox.

Really great. Simple enough to understand, but with a deep, modular design that really lets you experiment with synthesis.
