I love this game, I loved the minigame in vvvvvv but it's great playing it on it's own. It does start off a little hard but you get used to it, it encourages growth of skill. My main problem is that it seems to be unable to remember my high score past 10 seconds. Each time I get past ten or even 15, the next time I open the app it is back at 8:23.
Controls and graphics are great but the sheer amount of obstacles flying at you at once makes it very difficult. That alone wouldn't be a problem, but there are frequently multiple different enemy formations on the screen at once whoch makes many situations 100% impossible to escape. It's fun at first but quickly becomes incredibly frustrating. There also isn't any extra content at all for the player to look forward to unless the high score system counts.
Get ready to bounce! It's perfectly safe... But if you were wondering how well this (or VVVVVV itself for that matter) would control w touch buttons... Not very well at all. And the pixel scaling must be some horrible fraction because it's blurry as hell, almost looks like a compressed video. Coming from the Vita and 3DS versions this kinda hurts... But it's still good fun if a little finnicky.
A previous game by this person (super hexagon) really had that perfect balance of difficult and fun replayability. This game lacks the fun element. In super hexagon when you failed it always felt like it was because you made a mistake or just weren't fast enough, but this game doesn't have that. This game seems designed to make the player fail over and over again rather than being the player failing en route to mastering it. More subjectively, I also don't find the music to be as good in title
Touch spots for controls does not match where the controls are displayed on screen. Also only a third of the right hand control is displayed, the rest is cut off by screen edge. Device: Pixel 3. ----- Great game otherwise though and VVVVVV is fantastic.
This version of the Gravitron is MUCH harder than the Gravitron in VVVVVV. This would be fine (it is a Terry Cavanaugh game after all) if not for the fact that you start at an extremely high difficulty level. Unless you are willing to sink tons of practice into this, good luck getting that first award at 5 seconds into the game.
Love the game but the right side of the screen is cut off. Like the right arrow button is off of the screen and there's extra black space to the left of the left arrow button. Using Pixel 5a Android 11.
My best is 1 min 33 sec (working on it for a while), learning the patterns is so much fun this is an awesome game, music gets boring after a while obviously, wish it had a mute button
The standalone version of the minigame included in VVVVVV. Widescreen support is missing from the game.
Highly disappointed at the lack of trophies past the 1 minute mark. It's as if you passed a terrible judgement on the abilities of all humankind.
How does the simplest UI in the universe still run choppy and slow on any modern phone? This particular game literally cannot be played if it's choppy.
Frustratingly difficult but still fun. My best time after several days at this is 8.10 sec.
It's a good rage game, and you can replace the swf in the app, making it easy to play other flash games via the app.
Simple and brilliant. I absolutely love it!
I highly recommend that you get the full version of VVVVVV. It contains a lot more stuff.
The same kind of dumb fun as the PC version. Nice!
one of the best game I've evere played on my phone. My best time is 1:26:06
Love the fact that you released this as a stand alone game!
Control is over sensitive
This is ridiculous ...way to hard for anyone ..
Suppa team here
It's Fun
Life changing
Great game, but for some reason doesn't play well on newer phones (including my Nexus 5x). Five stars if Terry (a genius of game design) can getting working smoothly like it used to. Until then, it's not really playable.
I generally like terry's games and loved vvvvvv, so this seemed like it would be a fun little pocket challenge. Had no idea what it was going in. First of all, its more difficult than it should be. I love hard games, but this game asks too much. That alone is not enough to destroy the game, but a very uneven framerate is absolutely unacceptable in a reflex skill game like this. The left and right buttons are also too small, i frequently lose them while playing. What else is there to say? Theres nothing else there to comment on.
Simple concept, bounce around, don't get hit. It's stupidly hard but in a good way, forcing you to improve to do better (and as you see from the ragequit reviews it's not for everyone). Basically pulled straight from VVVVVV if you've played it.
For a gamer masochist, such as myself, this is perfect. The skill ceiling is nearly unlimited. Given the seemingly unlimited potential of randomized pattern combinations, along with the position of the character with each pattern, it keeps "formulaic play" dynamic. I play this therapeutically as a brain exercise. I love it. Best time 1:40.
Severe FPS drop on Nexus 6P. Menu is full speed, framerate drops drastically ingame and in "About VVVVVV" screen.
VVVVVV was a real great game, and it's nice to have this (annoyingly difficult) free little demo. However, on the device I'm using, it has a considerably low performance, as when the game spawns in the enemies the frames just drop. This may be due to my device's Low Power consumption configuration, but just to put it out there. Edit: Wow, it's even got keyboard support for Android! How nice...
