Man I would love this game if you were able to calibrate the tilt control. I have to tilt my phone so far forward to move I can't see my phone.

I have 2 main problems with this game. 1. There are way too many ads. whenever you beat a level?, AD, Fallout?, AD, Resume from the pause screen?, AD. All im trying to say is to minimilize the amount of ads you have to see. 2. The Controls are pretty bad. Tilting the screen to move is just not responsive, and turning feels so awfully clunky. If they added an option to use a joy stick then i would be delighted. Other than that, its a solid game for a mobile Super Monkey Ball.

It feels like a half-baked copy of the original, especially when you pay attention to the assets and models. Overall, they're fine, but then there's little things like a misaligned text box, or an image that was stretched to fit the screen, instead of properly resizing it to maintain it's proportions. It's things like these, coupled with wonky controls (which one would assume are ideal for a game like this, and somehow Sega managed to screw them up), that make it frustrating instead of fun.

It's fun! However, my biggest issue is that I can't see my achievements for some reason. Anyone else have this problem? My button does not work at all. Also, the motion controls are ok, but can be an absolute pain to deal with for a few certain levels. I've also had problems where the ball bounces for seemingly no reason. I'm glad that the game was relatively cheap though. I would recommend spending the few dollars instead of sitting through SO. MANY. ADS.

Lots of fun to be had here too! I think for a mobile phone, the visuals are pretty good! The multiple modes offer a lot of content to keep you coming back, and the characters are fun to use and see how they react! The biggest downside to me though is that it forces you to use tilt controls, which includes tilting your phone forwards or backwards to roll forward or backward or stop, if there was an option to use a digital analog stuck I would probably play this a lot more. Hopefully that's fixed!

Love the app and paid the 1.99 for no ads, it's worth it since I loved it so much as a kid! One minor issue I'm having is the far right side of the screen getting cut off, so I only see half of the icon on the right edge of the screen for instance. It doesn't affect game play that much but it's definitely an annoying bug! I have a Galaxy S10.

Tilt the screen to control your monkey ball. Controls are not nearly as good as on the GameCube, but the game is still playable once you adjust. Luckily, they made the stages easier than the earlier versions to accommodate the control scheme. You get extra stages and charming visuals and music. Some stages will challenge you pretty well, but the controls make getting perfects too aggravating. If you already played this series on the GameCube or can't get a GameCube, this is a good time.

I was really hoping that this app would be better than the reviews stated, but I was sadly let down. With thr controls, turning isn't too bad, but the acceleration is terrible. An option to increase sensitivity would make the experience a lot more enjoyable. The level design isn't too bad, but some of the graphics (like words that pop up onto the screen) are noticeably lower quality. The music also is looped very poorly, it's easy to tell when it's being looped. It's disappointingly mediocre.

Used to really like this game. was intrigued by the free mobile version. I get that to be free it is ad based, but really ads between each level, everytime you pause, everytime the screen changes for anything is too much. Biggest reason for only 2 stars is the controls. If you are only allowed to use tilt control, the please make an option to adjust calibration. When at center in the tilt meter my phone has to be tilted 45° down, meaning to get good speed it is almost upside down. Impossible

I love this game! Gave me the taste of super monkey ball that has determined me to buy banana mania as soon as it comes out. It takes a while to get used to the controls, but they are actually pretty well designed and soon you'll be zipping across platforms with ease. The levels have a great variety, and even some minigames that make it feel like a classic super monkey ball experience. The only complaint I have is that the replays don't work! They always desync, and in a different way each time.

I would love it if this game didn't have a million ads, but hey, you can pay 2 bucks to fix that, but you really dont have to. also, how about adding a calibration for tilt? I'm sitting back in my chair and I have to turn the screen nearly away from me to roll at full speed; just add a reset center or something. Final note, on the Galaxy s10, the game doesn't even fit on my screen; it cuts off on the right side.

The game is awesome. It's a simple and great idea. No complex gameplay and no far-fetched items are required to interact with. However, there is something that is strange: when you fall out from scenario instant replay scenes are shown as if bananas wasn't gotten, even you have already got them.

pap. Nov 4, 2019

An alright game, but the sheer amound of ads is just ludicrous. For instance, some of the earlier levels may take you 5-10 seconds to beat. You'll then have to sit though a 20 second unskippible ad. You have to watch an ad when you unpause, you have to watcg an ad if you die too many times. You're better off just skipping this if you're a monkey ball fan or try a different game if you're new to the series.

The motion controls are mandatory and really aren't any good. If this game let you use an on-screen thumbstick I wouldn't have any issues because the motion controls are really imprecise and sloppy and force you to play the game sitting up. Many of the levels are only difficult because the controls are impossible to work with.

Car. B. Feb 18, 2019

I have loved monkey ball since I was a kid. I hoped this would be similar. The controls are very horrible. It would be better to do a finger control instead of tilting. Very hard to control monkey. Even the easiest level was difficult to make it to the end. Wasn't able to get the bananas within the time limit. Please make this game more like the original ones.

I like the game, but there is one thing I hate about it. There should be options to move your characters, like tilt, arrows, and a joystick, instead of just tilting. Support for external keyboards would also be nice. This is unplayable on my Chromebook, since the tilt doesn't work. Even Touch & Roll was better than this one.

Cor. M. Dec 17, 2021

Crashed and/or froze multiple times. But other than that it is great! Would be nice if we could calibrate the tilt to match a more natural way to hold the phone at a neutral position (so, what the game considers as flat/neutral, we can actually hold the phone normally which would be at a tilt.)

Dev. S. Nov 20, 2019

The ball moves very slowly even at full tilt and the speeds are inconsistent. Full speed and low speed look the same in terms of revolutions. Adding a speedometer like in the orginal games would make sense. Ads are also horrendous and way too much. You'll get a 30 second ad after 10 seconds of gameplay

Mis. M. Feb 23, 2022

I loved super monkey ball adventure for PS2 growing up. However, it's kinda late where I'm from so I just wanted to play a quick little game before bed. I started up the mini games option and there's no tutorial for how to play any of them. It was nearly impossible to figure out and between the ads every 5 seconds this was extremely frustrating. I uninstalled pretty much immediately :(

App. May 3, 2019

This is a really fun game, except it's almost not worth buying the game from how many ads are in it because it seems like every single time you go to a different screen, there is a 30 second add to go along with it. As well as there's a very annoying bug in this game where I randomly fly off the map at random spots by unknown causes. I don't even touch anything that makes me fly off.

Gab. L. May 19, 2022

Way too many ads. Can't play in peace.

Kev. F. Apr 23, 2022

This is a completely solid and easy to play Monkey Ball game. Much easier than the console titles most people are likely familiar with, but plenty fun and nicely tailored to the gyroscope controls that it's designed around. Takes a minute to get used to, but once you are it's pretty smooth sailing.

Mer. A. Aug 20, 2019

What an awful, janky game. Forced move controls, intrusive ads, super low res menu gfx, the whole 9 yards. This is a FAR cry from the level of polish that even SMB1 brought to the table. Also, the move controls are not only your only option, but they are incredibly floaty and imprecise. If you even remotely care about having a fun gameplay experience, stay far away from this pile of garbage.

Super Monkey Ball is having a 20th Anniversary celebration and what better way to get in on the action than to play this instant with ads. Sega Forever's Super Monkey Ball game is tight on tilt control, challenging especially within the "get all bananas and reach the goal in one go" challenge. But don't panic, you don't have to do all the stages like that in one continuous run. And if you really like the game, pay the asking price of around two dollars to banish ADs forever!

Jar. F. Oct 19, 2020

So far, this definitely hits the mark in terms of nostalgia, while making great use of the phone's accelerometer for a fun new control scheme. However, the ads border on abusive, appearing even when you tap Resume from the pause menu. I'm fine with ad-supported games, but the ads in this game feels scammy. I'd sooner uninstall than pay to remove them because it doesn't feel like the dev has the kind of integrity I'd choose to support. A worthy casual game til the annoyance gets overwhelming.
