With options like Saving the game progress and customizable controllers and considering the nostalgic feelings it activates all while being FREE, this is easily one of my favorite apps! It might take some time to get used to playing it on a phone's relatively tiny screen, but right now I'm totally enjoying it! Ofcourse it would be even better if you could add the names of the games to the app so we could find what we're looking for more easily!
Ok, so the app works great, only one thing bothers me. I connect a (PS/Xbox) controller in order to fully immerse myself in the joys of novelty NES games only to wake up looking at myself destroying the right-side buttons and the *START/SELECT* ones. Only the d-pad and left joy-stick work. The L(1,2), R(1,2) and joy-stick buttons are also useless. *Edit: I'm using a wired controller (without BT) and the emu doesn't seem to detect it like this, so it won't enable the Controller Preferences.
You may as well buy it if you're going to use it. It asks you to give 5* ratings until you do, so I guess that's where the good ratings come from. Ads come up randomly and are time-based. So I died in Zelda numerous times because it doesn't pause the emulator when the ads come up. Super frustrating. As far as features, I don't really see any benefit of this over any other emulators out there. **Edit** I haven't used this app since yesterday and today it ate up 15% battery in the background.
Well it's very easy to use and even enjoyable. I have some suggestions that in D pad mode please can developers make joystick like default it will make the player easy to use and there should be a public server so that I could play with even players I don't know that will be fun....
It's the best NES emulator hands down! I mean... it loads all my roms, it lets you change game settings for your essential needs, and lets you rewind just in case you made a stupid mistake! Im pretty sure there's no NES emulator better than this. Thanks a lot Super8Plus. (Whoever hates this is probably a bot ;)
Program itself and works fine, but built in controller is worst I've ever used half the time doesn't respond correctly if at all, if you can't control the game properly little point in playing it... Used up 60 lives in the first 3 levels of contra, usually I can beat the game without the Konami code...
Dissimulator works well but lacks the configurability of some of the more advanced emulators it lacks the ability to set various filters and other enhancements it also suffers from response time when using the on-screen controls. I believe the response time is due to using on-screen controls and not so much the emulators fault.
On screen controls could be a little better. If I try to slide my thumb from the up direction to the left or right, the character on the screen will stop until I lift my thumb and press the direction again.
Filled with ads, settings are useless with a physical game controller. I couldn't uninstall it fast enough. As I said, useless with a physical controller. I don't want to see a virtual controller if I'm using a physical one. Also, I don't need an ad between every action I do in the app. You're greedy doing that and no one should support you for it.
Meh. The thing that are wrong with it is that with the games the music speed is FAST, like not synced up with the original. Game DOES NOT WORK WITH AN XBOX CONTROLLER, which makes it easier to play because touch controls are always weird.
Missing buttons in the set up. Could not get it to find any of my ROMs no matter where on my device I put them Gives can responses to problems. Have tried everything they said tried on 3 different device in edit it is missing buttons the game needed to play plus won't see any of the ROMs no matter what folder you put them in or if it is on the ad or phone
It tries to search for your roms but can't find anything, and there is no option to choose your roms folder. When you try to map your gamepad buttons, the onscreen keyboard pops up. There doesn't appear to be any video options either, like shaders or effects. It's a strange and pretty useless emulator.
This would be the best NES emulator on Android if the on-screen controls were better. The directional pad is 4 spaced buttons meaning there is no smooth control for fsster paced titles. Good for turn-based games or with a bluetooth controller.
It's a great emulator! Since my nostalgia receptors are tingling, I wanna play some NES games and your emulator is my choice. Just one catch, The controls are a bit sticky and hard to control. But other than that, 5 stars!
Just like Nostalgia.NES (which is identical to this emulator, but with a different skin), 8 times out of 10, it doesn't recognize button clicks. It will light up the button, so it knows I clicked it, but nothing will happen ingame. Changing position and size of the buttons does nothing, and problem persists across ROMs
It runs smoother than the original NES, and scans the ROMs for you really quick. It's hard to push the buttons on a smaller screen, so a remote would be advisable.
This was perfect for what i was looking for (playing tetris and mario on a long car trip) and worked flawlessly. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for a basic emulator with lots of customisation.
Great NES emulator! Would it be possible to add wideNES to this? Most emulators just strech the image, which doesn't look very good. WideNES isn't perfect, but it looks much better than simply streching the image.
Works as advertised Recommendation for the devs; put the start/select buttons *under* the game screen, so you have space for a fast-forward n rewind button next to the app ops gear. Also option to make the controller buttons bigger would be great.
The emulator works easy to understand and use i had a easy time getting games onto the emulator works with keybourd layout is ok and playing the games is fun but has many flows (ads mostly) first of all too many ads and time i click on a game another ad comes up also emulator runs games but the games play with weird bugs in them or just run strange or low fps etc over all emulator usable if u can put up with the ads loss of star for ads if the ads get any worse i will unstall
Umulator is great, but controls for Super Mario (which i only play) are not so responsive. Joystick is still perfect way to play this game. Non of these phones can change that.
Great app for getting that nostalgic fix on games. The B and A buttons are fiddly though, and not good for moves requiring fast reaction moves. Just wondering, is there support for controller? Thanks!
Awesome emulator Revives my childhood memories when I was a kid I loved to play snow bros and battle city. This app is truly amazing I wanted to rate it five stars but it needs improvement in its controls and other modules. Thanks to its developer for this amazing experience
This is a very user friendly emulator. It is clean and works well with various controller inputs. It also works rather well with Samsung DeX. I use my phone as a retro console. Overall, I definitely recommend this app!
It's perfect for me it runs all my NES games with no problems, If your into roms and emulators I'd suggest upgrading to pro. I love being able to play NES everywhere I go its just an all around great time killing.
Besides the constant and annoying ads, this emulator is fine. The buttons, in my opinion, are a little tacky. It's good that you can resize and reposition them. I still feel they stick out too much. Besides that, I like the other options and the ability to connect controllers. (bluetooth also) This emulator is fine to test out and whatever, but if you want the best experience playing NES games, buy the Pro version.
