SuperBeam | WiFi Direct Share

This used to be amazing. SuperBeam was my go-to app for YEARS. Literally 20 Pro purchases were due to my direct influence. All that's changed now... With this "new" version, the app's functionality has been truncated. Want to send a zip file? Look elsewhere, as SuperBeam decided it's users don't need to do that. What about sharing an APK file? Nope, that's been taken away too. Truly sad to see how the amazing has turned to rubbish. Uninstalled and looking elsewhere for our needs.

I DL'd this for its claimed ability to share via NFC, as an old device is acting up and won't connect to Wi-Fi atm, rendering Wi-Fi direct and Wi-Fi hotspots ineffective. However, NFC *is* working, but Android quick share list does not have NFC as an option. When I select share using my APK sharer of choice, which is exactly why I went looking for an app that would provide me this functionality. Sadly, SuperBeam is not it. If it turns out I'm wrong, I will amend my rating but I don't think I am.

Went from 5* to 1* because when you are finally able to make it work, it crashes while transfering, so you press "Resume" and it goes back to 0% until it crashes again. I uninstall both (Pro Vesrion too) and sometimes it works if transfering a picture or two before "Resume" pops again. The run around was to google "com.majedev.superbeam.apk 4.1.3" and downloaded the previous app before the update. I install it on both phones and run it and uninstall when you are done. Save the APK file

It used to be a pain for my wife and I to send each other large amounts of pics that we took of our son. Too large to email, and WiFi Direct natively wouldn't work because it sends them by default to internal memory which didn't have enough space. This has been a great tool to easily share pics and vids and it goes straight to the external SD and very fast! Thanks for this app!

I was really happy with the old version - transferring files and photos between my Windows 10 laptop, Android phone and Android tablet. Now the transmission stops frequently and when I press the 'RESUME' button it doesn't resume but starts from the beginning with a new version of the file. This is a showstopper and has made Superbeam very unreliable for me especially when transferring from my laptop. It's very disappointing and I am actively looking for a more reliable alternative.

First. Thanks for doing an update, and fixing a few bugs. Second. So many new annoyances. Doesn't transfer a folder to the PC, just the contents, which is way messy. When looking for a recent photo, video, whatever, there's no way I can find to change the sort order to newest first. So I have to scroll through years of content. The Photos, Videos etc tabs have no tag on them to identify. Not a mojor problem, just an annoyance. Galaxy S105G running Android 10.

This app is absolutely perfect and amazing at what it does! I'm only curious why you can't get a faster transfer when connecting to devices using Wi-Fi Direct. I would assume that both devices could achieve the maximum speed of the slowest device and cut out the overhead of a router. This app works awesome! I used it to copy 64 gigs from the internal memory of my old phone to my new phone in one evening. I have an AC 1700 router. the old phone was a Moto X and the new phone wasn't Asus Zenfone 5

So far so good. Spent hours on phone with verizon and samsung trying to resolve wifi direct and blue tooth files between 2 phones, to no avail. 1. Seem to have to restart phone after a transfer because says still transferring after complete. 2. Screen doesn't reopen correctly. However, I'm very glad can quickly and easily transfer files. Thank you.

1. It works, but on Windows 10 it will only send using wifi and QR code. 2. I had to find this out by trial and error, no user doc pointed this out. 3. Does not provide interface to specify destination folders. Have to use a phone app to find and move. 4. Had to stop and restart on both devices to do a 2nd xfer. App will repeat the xfer ad nauseam.

Great app for file sharing, better than all of other file sharing apps I have tried. Been using for quite some time, but the recent update seems to have a bug in the secure mode file transfer, connection to other devices is lost midway through the transfer for no apparent reason. The legacy mode works fine with either the same version of the app or lower versions, so have to use legacy mode all the time. Please fix this. Four stars due to the bug, otherwise a straight Five star app.

Great app that just works. It has been the only app that i have been able to transfer files between multiple devices by different manufatures across different versions of android [without file corruption]. The many different ways to send and or recieve files super cool. These are all indicators of an app that has huge potential in the future. Great work. To the developers... You are an example of how to deploy an app on a platform that you may not entirely agree with. Good luck.

Was initially very enthused by the simple, clean UI. However, functionality falls short. Does not appear to support WiFi direct, and there is a bug where wifi hotspot spins out while starting. Sharing section headers are missing, everything shows up as "..." Files & Folders and Documents sections are blank, with no apparent means to access files in the android filesystem, as with most other apps. Hoping some bug fixes will bring this back. Again, simple/clean UI has a lot of appeal.

Works ok. I feel like transfers were easier and more consistent in previous versions. It could be the new hardware and A12. Files will have their meta data mismatched. Some files won't transfer properly and can't be played. Flac files for example. Plus for being able to pick the target directory I just wish transfers were consistent.

Good GUI for novice users and the ability to 'share' from my chosen file browser makes for quick and easy transfers. Have now purchased the pro version. Down sides: recieving fails if I select my download folder; PC version cannot select recieving folder and requires interaction at the PC, so no good for me.

such an underated and underused app. easily thr next best thing to Airdrop actually coming to android. Its faster than any other app I've tried, under identical network conditions (Send Anywhere, and similar apps) and the easiest to initiate a transfer (REALLY helps if both devices have a camera). Recently their website seems to have disappeared, which I hope isn't a sign that this underrated app is being discontinued. Thanks much to the developers for this.

I bought the paid version to send folders to people with the free version, and to send files between my phone and PC. You got rid of the free version, and PC transfer does not work. also Apple devices are not supported. Get your app working and compatible before trying to force people to pay. Now I have wasted my money and will not recommend the app to anybody. There was potential for the app, but you are trying to sell a chicken before hatching the egg.

!Warning if you seriously want to transfer pictures and videos! All my family pictures from the last 6 years were transferred to my new phone and lost all dates. So now when sorting files per date with any Explorer programme the hole family events happened on one day! This is a disaster. Apart from that it's a good app.

I have been with this application since day one and have the pro version. This was great and I used it all the time. Now it seems broke. As others have said it doesn't transfer my files and when I resume it goes back to 0. It was a 5 star app for years and years. Now it needs a major update to fix the issues.

I was searching for WiFi Direct and the program was very promising from the outside. After scanning the QR code, it says "Invalid Sharing Key, Couldn't Connect". I tried adding the exception on Windows Firewall and connect the PC and the Android phone to the same network but it failed over and over again. Not a single connection. If that bug is fixed, please inform me and I will change my review. Just want to inform about the error. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G

After latest update, transferring files have been unpleasant. Unable to complete transferring a file completely, the transfer will just randomly stop halfway and clicking resume only repeating the same problem. Come on, it has been many months since the last update, please fixed this problem or just give us back the previous working version.

Not sure if it's the new updated version, but this is broken. Used to be the best. Won't recognise most of my phone's content and won't transfer any files either. Eager to replace with 5* again when fixed...

Was a wonderful app before. I even buy the pro unlocker. Now it comes with multiple faulty. 1. Select all is not working. It selected upper level folder and files 2. When use web server download all as an zip file. Not all files is packed. THERE ARE MISSING FILES!!! 3. When us pc app to download files. It ended during trandmission. The resume function is no use at all.

It is a good app to transfer files using Wi - Fi hardware. If both the devices are connected to same router then it is easy to transfer via this app using QR-Code scanning .The only problem is that this app needs to be opened manually in the recieved device. If it was automatic detection then it will be iceing onthe cake

sending folders is only available with pro. Well as that's why I downloaded it as my phones normal software won't do it for some reason then unfortunately it I have had to uninstall. The point in pro should be to remove ads and maybe expand on features. Not to be the only way to use that feature.

This app used to work great on my previous phone but for some reason it's not compatible with Android 10 and above. This update should solve that right? well think again. The bird brain idiots behind this update didn't think it was that important, instead they decided to swap out the former app logo for this one and why? because it solves everything apparently. Worthless app 💩💩💩

Worthless app. Wouldn't properly stay connected via WiFi or NFC. Had to resort to Bluetooth to transfer photos from my wife's phone to mine so she could keep taking pictures here on Kauai. Glad I didn't pay for the "pro" app.
