Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery

This game is amazing, I haven't even finished but it's just amazing. The music, the experience, everything is so unique. But I have one complain, not enough to make it down to four stars (or maybe?), the thing is the sensitivity of the rotation is way too high. Sometimes my phone is making a 15° or less and the game thinks I rotated the device and goes battle mode. This is frustrating some times but wasn't able to make me not enjoy the game.

Tragically, this labor of love has been left to languish. My 3 star rating is not because of the gameplay (it's neat!), or the story (it's good!), or the music (it's great!). It's for the fact that the game is seemingly no longer being updated for newer versions of Android. I'm lucky enough to be able to launch the game, but changing focus to anything else hard freezes it and makes the current session unrecoverable. Buy the game on Steam instead, or stream the album on Spotify and enjoy yourself

This game looks and sounds beautiful. But the gameplay itself consists of walking around most of the time, wich wouldn't be that bad if the controls weren't extremely frustrating. You could improve the game a LOT if there was an option for a normal d-pad. But because of these bad controls I couldn't get myself to enjoy this beautiful game.

I tried this game a while back on PC but having revisited it again on Android I feel that mobile experience is the better of the two. It got great music, a mind bending plot and interesting interactions between the main characters. Its a really different experience to most games out there so it may not be for everyone but if you are willing to give it a chance I think you will be surprised.

I have remembered about this game, after 7 years after release as it is unique, sound visuals and overall aesthetics are marvelous. Unfortunately I have difficulty running it on Android 11, game stops, crashes mid way and forces Android OS screen rotation to the very peculiar position - upside down. Hence it's not playable at all :( Decided to go with PC version instead, there was a bug with resolution also (fortunately an easy fix). I do not recommend this game on Android, as it is buggy..

Buggy, freezes. Would be great otherwise. I've played this game twice and it's frozen about five times. Examples: First time I played I got to the end of chapter 1, a smoke monster caught me, game froze, and when the game reloaded controls were non-responsive. Worked again after I reset my phone. Another freeze happened when I accidentally went to the credits and tried to go back, it froze with the curtains half closed. Just now it froze on the start screen. Pixel 3A, Android 10.

Tons of glitches that just make the game unplayable. Which is really unfortunate, because it's very pretty, suspenseful, and riddled with lore. Several times I couldn't leave sworcery mode. Once had to start over after misunderstanding slyvan instructions. And had to start over again when a sylvan floated outside the screen area, I couldn't reach it, and I couldn't tap out of sworcery mode. Only got 20% through. I want to finish, but I'm so frustrated.

This was an extremely polished experience with beautiful pixel art and gameplay that works perfectly with the narrative. Some parts of the game might not be spelled out for the player, but the feeling of discovery and experimentation is a part of the theme. Those elements, along with a near-perfect soundtrack, makes for a game that is 100% worth the money.

really enjoy the art and sound design. the way the game does character development is super nice. a very contemplative atmosphere. love the sense of humor. ui is clunky for some operations - sometimes even introducing problems where i can't switch between game modes this bug prevents me from progressing beyond about 30% of the game. at this point i am unable to exit sworcery mode after the 2 eagles/sun puzzle. I would rate it 5 stars for the design and execution (and idiosyncracies) IF i could play it through on my device (moto g+ or something)

This game is an amazing work of art with great visuals, music, and story. the story takes the traditional hero power fantasy of most games and flips it on its head. the protagonist starts off strong and healthy but every progression towards her goal leaves the protagonist weaker and weaker until she is struggling to continue forward, limping and coughing blood, but you press on. the game is mysterious, meta, quirky, and unique. highly recommended to adventure game fans.

A very very unusual kind of game, meta in some ways. The style of the game is somewhat unique with all the rotation of the screen. The beautiful pixelated environments, the funny dialogues and monologues and the overall story including the sad ending was totally worth the time spent. Looking forward to more games like this.

Great art but actually a poor game. I really wanted to love this. I played the first hour or two but then this app sat unplayed for years and I'm finally uninstalling it after admitting to myself that I'm just never going to launch it again. It was just not compelling enough to draw me back in and there are other more rewarding ways to spend time.

I have just completed 26% of the whole game. For me that was enough. What to say... The game is for those who love something unusual - story, controls, fight mode. It's original. I reduced rate for no response from support for about 1,5 month. There's a screen resolution problem on Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.

Really Great Game! The atmosphere and the Soundtrack is amazing .The only thing that refrains me to rating 5* is sometimes it randomly crashes that loses some of my progress and it also crashes when I enabled my screen rotation lock in the settings of my phone . Looking forward to finish it.

Only playable with phone held in one direction, does not auto rotate. Game does not fill Galaxy Note 8 screen, left with a large white bar at the edge. Would be nice if, (1) allowed auto rotate to choose how to hold phone, (2) improve fit to variety of phone screen sizes

I liked the artwork, but endless pointless walking around was a bit boring. Dialogue is a bit - "in jokey". Also encountered same glitch as others where once you picked up the book you couldn't move anywhere and nothing seemed to work. Refund after 10 minutes of play.

The app froze when I got to the skull part. I couldn't move the character even after restarting few times. But overall the sound effects and the art/design are pretty good.

When I started playing this months ago it worked fine, but now it crashes every single time before getting to gameplay. I would have rated it much higher on completion because I was really enjoying it before. It is a shame.

Very difficult game if you play it entirely without the help of the internet. But if you can use it sparingly like I did, it is a really great Puzzle-Type platformer.

crashes at 9% on galaxy note 9. that's to bad, I played this game on iPhone back in the day when it came out. it's a great experience just wished it worked on android. would purchase again if bugs get fixed.

Though the story, what little there seems to be, isn't very interesting and I didn't want to continue playing anyway, what made me want to throw my phone in frustration was how if I tapped the phone at all the game would rotate into combat mode.

will not work on an s10 + .. had this same issue w a separate title ( oxen free ) idk why but super brothers s&s will not run on s10 plus just keeps crashing , have cleared cache , re installed over and over. sad really seemed very interesting.

I could not get past the 1st screen. It kept on rotating the screen and I couldn't move or do anything. This was on a Samsung Tablet A10. Just nothing I did tilting screen, moving clicking nothing worked. Uninstalled after trying to do anything in this game for 5min.

It just doesn't do a hood job of telling you what you need to do and the fight scenes can be eather satisfying or infuriating because it barely gives you a hint as to what you should do. I had to look up practically everything.

Such an amazing game. I bought it years ago and just recently came back to it. The soundtrack is also one of the greatest video game soundtracks I've ever heard. Jim Guthrie is a musical genius.

Tried playing it and it crashed 3 times before it was uninstalled and refunded. If I'm paying for a game it should be able to load at least once.
