This is a really good emulator, it's super smooth, and has what is required of a basic emulator, it does lack certain customisation options tho, like the transparency of the UI, fast forward or controler support, and the D-Pad seems to have a certain latency to it, tho it may just be that my phone is not the most powerfull out there In short : It's not bare minimum, it's basic, but what it has is done perfectly!

SuperMD is a great way to play your Genesis/Mega Drive games on the go. It loads quickly, the controls are great for a mobile, and the emulation itself is just spot on. Well, the sound in the emulation is a little off, but that's not too big a deal. But my main complaint is the ads. Lots and lots of unskippable ads when you boot up the game, boot up a ROM, but thankfully not slap bang in the middle of a game. I'd rather you nust charged money for the app in the first place instead of using ads.

Pretty darn good and my go-to MegaDrive emulator. Loses a star because it's not quite as feature-rich as some other ones. Would be nice to be able to mute/reduce volume of the in-games sound so other apps could play over the top of it. Also, the screen only sits one way, so if you prefer another orientation, then you can't flip any other direction. Good overall, though.

My only problem is the controls. They're barely transparent and there's no option to change that, which makes it difficult to go hard on some Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Setting the buttons up is weird too, because it'll resize a button if I'm not moving it for a single second. The D-Pad is terrible, the non-diagonal parts are so thin that I almost always go diagonal, which, again, makes it rather difficult to go ham on Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, separated arrows would be better.

It works, it emulates, but it is absolutely awful at keeping my saves. The save buttons appear for a moment and then go away and never return. Not to mention, when I am able to press save, the load function never actually loads what I had saved. If this is how the free app work, there's no way I'm buying the "pro" version, not that there should be any difference.

One of the best emulatoros ever. Would give a 5 star but there is a massive issue in the save system. Sometimes (by that I mean 3 out of 5 times) when I try to load a quicksave the game loads it but gets stuck there. Like I can't move or the in game timers doesn't go on. You guys should fix it cause I'm tired of going again and again through the Sonic 2 levels cause save won't load 😅

It works. The biggest problem though is that the control scheme for the touch screen buttons really wigs out some times. I tried to fix the position of the buttons through the settings but the buttons either shrunk or completely disappeared. You can bring them back to resetting the touch controls to default but you have to change everything again to the way you had it before the buttons went crazy. If this bug was fixed I would rate higher but this is a big bummer for people who use touchpad.

Pretty solid for a Sega emulator. Sonic 3 and Knuckles has been working perfectly fine for me. Some people complain about the ads but honestly there not that bad. You get 1 ad even time you go in the settings. There are some features missing tho I would have liked to see. Here's a list, -circle pad -color adjustments to buttons and d-pad (also included a transparency option) -full screen That's about It. If these features get added in it would make this app way better!

The ads are absolutely atrocious... Far beyond anything resembling reasonable. The software itself is baron of ANY settings, features, adjustability, graphics options, rendering options, audio options... And it just goes on and on. For the dev to say they justify these ads due to needing the revenue provided so as to then provide us with continued development of the app is just ludicrous given the blank landscape that is this emulator. First game I tried wouldn't even run. 1 star.

I had no issue with a forced 30 second advertisement popping up when launching a game since I am on the free version. When the game loaded my bluetooth control needed some changes. Went to open the settings and was hit with another ad moments after getting into game. I immediately removed it after that. Only 2 minutes on the app, and one whole minute spent on advertisements. Intended to purchase if emulation was good but the way the advertisements are implemented drove me off before I could.

Audio seems to crackle a bit (very little), and it would be nice to have the option to adjust the opacity of the on-screen controls. Other than that, this thing works great. Been playing Phantasy Star IV, Shining Force, and Castlevania Bloodlines without a single hiccup. Thanks dev!

The ads are VERY NON-INTRUSIVE.... I've tried out many MANY different emulators throughout the years & usually settle on buying one to avoid the ads mainly because of how the effect gameplay, but the free version of this emulator is simple & like I was explaining earlier, the ads do not effect the quality of gameplay @ all. I highly recommend this download!!!

The emulator itself is pretty good despite being barebones. However, the fullscreen video ads are just unbearably intolerable. The app displays a fullscreen video ad every time you load a ROM, open the settings page in-game, and close a game. Without the annoying fullscreen video ads, I would rate this emulator 4/5.

Get. V. Sep 22, 2021

Terrible. The buttons aren't responsive, the save function is barely functional, and the emulation quality is poor. I got to the end of Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and I save-stated on the Doomsday Zone (the final boss), and every single time I opened it, it brought me back to the title screen, and my save file was completely wiped. Just save the money to buy a Sega Genesis mini.

Gamepads don't seem to work at all. The ads are incredibly obnoxious, they are far too frequent, and take way too long. I didn't even finish configuring my settings before I had watched 4 ads. Then when I exited the game, it forced another ad on me, and I had to force close the app to actually close it.

It's a really good emulator but sometimes when I load a file all of my progress is gone. I was playing sonic 3 and had every chaos emerald at marvel garden. I pressed the quick load button and it goes to the title screen, all progress and saves gone. It was like it unexpectedly corrupted my save file. This might be the only gen emulator but its NOT a good one.

Dem. Jul 7, 2019

It works okay and looks nice and having both gen and sms systems are nice. No fastforward button. Menu bar should be hid when you start a game by default. Needs UI buttons for quicksaving and quickloading instead of having to use the menu bar. The main menu keeps switching back to portrait mode. Minus a star for 5 star incentive begging bs.

Dr.. S. H. May 17, 2021

The advertisement is annoying. everytime you boot up the app there will be one and sometimes it's abysmally long. The quick save feat is fine but sometimes when you quick load the game just become a mess needing you to reload it again. And sometimes the sound just got screwed forever unless you load before the music start being funky. There is also no fast forward feature. If they these issue i will come back to it because it actually emulates the game really well

Seb. I. May 29, 2022

Unusable due to ads. Would have considered buying based on other's feedback, but never got a chance to try becuse of long, device-locking ads. Terrible out of the box experience.

Jon. L. Feb 3, 2022

User friendly, and that's somewhat rare. There IS, in fact, controller support! Now I can relive the glory days with some Jungle/Desert Strike, Altered Beast, and Golden Axe II! Ads are minimal, but welcome given this is a free emulator. Top notch.

Car. W. Nov 3, 2019

This is just terrible. I know it's free and all, but it would still be nice if it actually worked. The touch controls are not only unresponsive, but don't work entirely. Trying to play Kid Chameleon and all the button jump left. Nothing on Mega Bomberman works at all and don't get me started on the mess of Sonic. Then there are the adverts. The ceaseless assault of 30 second adverts everytime you do anything. Pay thr extra 2 quid and get one that dmn well works.

Ric. H. Oct 20, 2020

It is decent, but needs some tweaking for how ads are displayed. Some ads are meant to be displayed upright and the app automatically displays them in landscape mode preventing you from skipping the ad at all. This costs unecessary uninstalls whereas if it is fixed more ads are viewed and the author would increase revenue with such a simple fix.

Jos. M. Aug 21, 2020

It runs pretty well, and a good quality. However, at the time to quick load a saved filed, or making any changes at the settings, the emulator crashes, making it "difficult" of its usage. This bugs has to be fixed if it wants to be better reviewed.

A. G. u. Dec 20, 2020

In my opinion, this emulator is average at best. The d-pad does not indicate when you actually tap it. Also, when I load a save state, 9 times out of 10 it will glitch out. It plays games well but because of the input delay, it gets very frustrating.

Art. K. Apr 11, 2021

It worked great for some time then suddenly a lot of stuff stopped working as I see others here write as well. The stoppes getting input from my bluetooth controller, and on screen toucy buttons also dont work. Playing with the settings to make it work didnt help, and while editting settings the constant adds were also very annoying.

Ian. A. May 31, 2019

Bless you. This emulator is amazing! Every detail of the Genesis is recreated as best as could possibly run on an Android phone. It's fast, it's responsive and it has an intuitive, clean interface, with save states.

Dan. L. Dec 5, 2020

This would be a great app,i would even tolerate the ads, but there's one major problem. You put countless hours into an RPG, then when you go to load from the save state, it briefly shows the saved screen, and crashes. So no RPGs on this one.

M. B. Mar 18, 2020

It's a good emulator overall, however for whatever reason, when I load a savable game from a zip file and then play it, I reset the game and my data isn't there. Please help! I can't test if it's only for zip files because my tablet can't navigate them. Also I recommend adding a game genie/pro action replay setting.
