SuperRetro16 (SNES Emulator)

I've used this app (or some version of it) for many years. I've never had any issues with it and often used it as a litmus for evaluating other emulators. However, since updating to Android 11, this app is now unusable. It does not manage its permissions correctly and is not able to read and write to folders, making it a useless app. 1 star until updated or until Android changes its file permission standards.

This has been a great emulator until the recent updates making it unplayable. When you search directory for roms, nothing is there. I have verified and the roms are there. Please update and fix this bug. Will change 1 star back to 5 once this is resolved. Still no resolution. Any response?

Wow. The update from few months ago ruined this app and now the may update fixed it. It still didn't find the game folder I have on my sd card but thankfully I saved some to my cloud. It restored those games. This is the only app that has the cheat search that is very easy to look and pick. Keep trying to fix this app please. Samsung Galaxy s20. From 1 star to 3 now.

Wow. I wish I could give it 0 stars. Random freezes and glitches. Google drive scanning and uploading is broken. Recently, a required unable-to-bypass update screen, but, surprise, if you update the app it becomes completely unusable. Cherry on top? Proprietary savefiles, so you can't even ditch it for different emulator without losing all of your progress. Awful. Avoid at all costs.

Purchased this year's ago, but redownloaded on a new phone. This doesn't not even recognize the files. It used to be good, but yes the rating on Google play is true. Don't recommend using this app.

got a new phone and when I tried to install it my previous saves are still there but are locked. please fix. Update May 2022 now it's completely broken and doesn't work at all. don't waste your money.

Since February update my roms won't play. I think it's something to do with Rom Directory. My Downloads folder for some reason is Private and I can't choose a Rom path to my Downloads anymore. If anyone else is having issues I believe that the whole issue is the Downloads folder being private and that's where our Roms are. Needs a update asap I miss my Emulator.

Purchased the full version and still not working! I had originally purchased the full version of this app and then all of my roms stopped working. I looked at the store section and once again it stated that you can purchase the full version. Like a noob, since I really enjoyed the app I repurchased and still the app doesn't work. So twice I lose and this app developer gets the benefits. At this point the Play Store needs to pay attention to the consumer and hold these developers accountable.

After the last update the app becomes unplayable. My fone is One Plus 7 Android 11. Kindly fix the problem. Thanks

This is a fraud even the full version won't work I recommend download snesx9 EX+ it's free and work perfect with control customization and very useful I DO NOT RECOMMED BUY SUPERRETRO16 TO ANYONE 0☆👎

I I initially liked this emulator because my controller worked without any extra messing around and it found all the games on my phone automatically. However, after a few weeks of use games started glitching, and now I can't use it at all. Tried reinstalling and contacting the developer for help, but no luck. Waste of money.

The app does not work anymore, after the latest update I cannot play the games which actually I played before. Now seems that only purchased games from internal store can be played, otherwise the games do not open. I have sent emails to developer but, no response yet... Unfortunate the lack of support from this awesome emulator

This used to be a really good SNES rom app. It is no longer. I bought a new phone, I have set the file path and then scanned for new games. It will not find the roms even though I can see the file names. I am now uninstalling and have gone to SNES9X as that is actually working

Never liked the forced updates, just to end up with this... Having the same problem as everybody else. Can't detect or play any of my games anymore. Will this issue ever be fixed? And what's with this whole coin thing (smh) 🤦🏻‍♂️? I will raise the rating once it's fixed. Would hate to have to leave this app as it was one, if not the best! But I feel robbed after paying and now this. Hope it gets fixed soon if not to request a refund...

I bought this app in 2013, before the current Google play number system existed, so i have no GPA number to put in the purchase section. I've emailed and explained the situation with proof of purchase included. I'd be willing to buy it again if i thought that would fix the issue but all the negative comments from those who did just that... I'd just be wasting my money. It was fun and all but it is time to go to something else, I hear good things about the John NESS app, might be worth checking.

After pointing the app to my ROM directory and scanning for games, it found nothing. I would attempt to open a game manually but there is no option. The app looks cool but does not function properly so there's unfortunately no way to test it.

BTW they fixed the app i give 5 stars i was also refunded the second charges for repurchasing the app. Hi my name is John I purchased this app years ago, what happened to being able to set turbo buttons? Also the app just charged me for the full version again to allow me too use the cheats and saves.i don't know what's going on with that but I would truly appreciate turbo buttons being in the button mapping and layout editor, thank you for your time.

It was awesome until last week. Now I can't play anything on it. I have had the premium version for several years. It doesn't scan the ROMS even though they're in the same folder I've always used. Please fix this, this was the best emulator, now it's about useless. Fix this and you get the 5 star rating back.

You did another update and once again made the game useless! And for people who are running into the coin payment issue, all you had to do was hit close game, reopen, and it worked....except that since the upgrade this week, NOTHING WORKS! Can't play anything on it.

It can't find any of my ROMs now and I've had to buy another emulator to play them. I've shuffled the directory and games all over the phones storage and it refuses to find them. Please help if anyone knows how to fix this nonsense. Not sure why every second update of this seems to make it unplayable

App no longer works after the last update on feb 2022. Also Retro 8 no longer works after the last update from last year. Please you guys should fix these issues as your apps is amongst the best snes and nes emulators on android

Used to like this emulador, but now I can't load any roms from local storage, no matter the file extension, file names, folder, or anything. The app can't find my roms when I scan for them.

I bought this app years ago and have loved it ever since. It's my favorite purchased app I've ever had. Last night it was working fine but today it is saying file not found and denied permission to load save states. I hope this gets fixed soon. As soon as it does I'll update this back to my original 5 star review.

There must have been an update, as the app cant read any of the files an is basically unusable at this point.

Paid for it for nothing. Has really bad sound. Zelda link to the past does not have sound
