I installed this app after rooting my phone (Samsung Ace GT-S5830i) and works great lets me know what app requires permission, suppose it is like a firewall. Also gives me a list of what apps have permission, yes I like it. Think I have had this on my phone now for just over three months, so far never had any updates.
How I reverted to an older binary without having to do a full restore: 1) Installed AppExtractor. 2) Disabled automatic Market updates. 3) Disabled WiFi. 4) Extracted Superuser.apk from my last full backup. 5) Forcibly installed this version with adb. 6) Used this older Superuser.apk to reinstall an older binary. 7) Rebooted phone. 8) LBE Privacy Guard and TitaniumBackup could again get root reliably.
I REALLY RECOMMEND USERS WHO DONT WANNA WASTE THEIR TIME TO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. IT JUST SHOWS AND FEW BUTTONS THAT DONT WORK AND ARE WASTING THE SIZE OF THE DISPLAY, AND THE WHOLE OTHER PARTS OF THE SCREEN ARE BLACK. IT LOOKS MORE LIKE A GARBAGE BIN OR EVEN SO SOMETIMES AND GARBAGE TRUCK
Love superuser ever since I rooted my shooter its been working better then ever. I can someone please tell me though when I go to update from 2.3.1 to whatever the new binary is. Why does it get all the way through update just to tell me the test was a failure
This belongs in the toilet bowl of an abandoned stinking toilet riddled with disease in a third world country. Absolutely horrid. It has a white screen upon opening most of the time and when it does open, there are no apps listed when I do have some root apps. Sickening. Rotten app that does not work.
Works perfectly before I got a notification to upgrade su binary. and when i did upgrade, superuser always force closes and doesn't give permission to root apps anymore or even a notification for newly installed root apps. Please help me resolve this issue or maybe an update to fix it. Thanks! *update* -tried tuning on usb debbuging and it worked again :)
Why do you programmers act like A holes? You created the expect people to fail because people are.. Its up to you to help.. Rember quote i didnt tell you to install the app!! If it breaks.. Well we didnt ask you to design a product were most people dont read the discription... So yeah its there fault.. But its programmers like you that ruin the game.. Im just being honest .. All these fourms with rules before you can post your issue. You guts might be smart but your weak minded very rude !!
This is the countless time I have run into this f---ing problem after an auto update. Please rectify. Next time save the community the hassle and trouble of this before you release an update. People have important and unretreivable information, photos, memories on their phones.
After last update I get repeated super user denied shell access using normal apps then the constant reboots that require a full factory reset. You have no choice but to upgrade binary or TB is denied root access! Fix this before you kill my phone!
Recently, I moved from an app drawer SU 3.1.3 to the system app SU 3.2 from the dedicated website. I guess when the change was made to flat files, or maybe the fix on requesting permission, the app went haywire for me. I still had root access, but it would consistantly ask me for access right, even with remember checked. Also, I believe it caused my WiFi tether to act up, which isnt good seeing as my only internet is my phone. In process of rolling back. Stock ICS EVO3D CDMA Unlocked BL S-On, hboot 1.58
I have the same complain here with "tanker" review "I sent an email just now on my problem but other wise i love it. My issue was outdated su binary I got the files but all root applications froze so now i hope i get a reaspond soon." I successfully update my binary, then suddenly after that all of my root applications freeze and can't open (didn't get permission). Hope you fix it as soon as possible. Thanks
For some reason i cant root my phone because i dont have su binary or something and i tried all these other rooting methods like framaroot and towelrolt but its eithrr my device is not compatible with rooting, or its the dumb su binary problem.Someone please help me.BTW my phone it galaxy s4 mini gt I9190
I had the VM chaser and it updated the Su with no problem then the phone crashed and ordered a replacement. So I have the same phone but it will not "Make sure Su works". My dad has the same problem on his AT&T Samsung Infuse 4g. Please help! Thanks in advanced.
Every app I open crashes after "superuser has been granted access to shell". Phone *constantly* blacks out, freezes and has to be restarted. I've rooted every phone I've ever had and never had a problem until using superuser. As far as I've found, no one knows how to disable it and it cant be removed from the phone.
Very few apps are able to get superuser permissions on my phone. A non-rooted android is more useless than a non-smartphone. I'd be willing to pay for it to work but I ain't buying superuser elite unless I have a 100% promise of it working.
When i try to update the binary, it says downloading manifest... failed. So when i press try again it goes to the screen before then it force quits. I don't know what this means but i hope you can tell me if its me or your application.
No matter how hard I try I can't uninstall this app or even remove it from my Google account! It didn't work for my Galaxy S III, but that's beside the point. Why won't it let me get rid of it!? It wouldnt be so bad if the app didnt prevent my phone from updating. Stay away from this one. It has caused me nothing but gried.
This used to work perfect for me now it closes automatically when i try to update binary....it also doesnt show the apps that are prompt by su on the log. Yet, they are still working somehow. I dont understand whats wrong with this but please fix asap. I will rate this app back to 5 stars when fixed.
Use to be the best superuser to rid malwared chinese versions and untrusted sources.. but yesterday I got a new googletv box t95z with 3g ram and 32 rom android 7.1 and it caused a boot hang on animation very sad and angry.. its not cheap.. recovery works with tooth prick though but not sure how to use sdcard to fix. not sure on image i need or where to look any one had same or gone through the process of reflashing
Won't allow me to update binaries, when it checks for root access it fails, all my other apps have root permission every time without fail and the log shows every one of them. Tell me what the deal is, haven't been able to update the binaries for months, will there EVER be a fix for this? Droid RAZR on Jellybean 4.1.2 Update: For some reason my root just all the sudden failed entirely, went about rerooting it and it added SuperSU, I prefer this so i got rid of that and now its working like a charm, GREAT!
Screw you, my phone is almost bricked because your zip file (ROM) sit on /system /system/bin /system/xbin and it refused to go away even with your Update Fixer. Your failure has caused unnecessary worry, very poorly written script and how your apps got more than a star rating is truly beyond me. Ive tried every method, from manual installation to flash, Supersu failed to update binary and installation failed while Busybox can't execute because of your Superuser! Again, screw you!
At first I thought this app was the best thing since sliced bread. However, now that I've tried CWM's equivalent, I'm not nearly as impressed (especially with the CWM Superuser being FOSS, and not requiring "Elite" to have extra features like a PIN). Best of luck to you all, though; it's been a fun ride.
Just rooted a LG E720... I bought my phone unlocked and it was loaded with a bunh of junk apps from the original carrier! The phone has a decent Processor but was really slow... Using Gingerbreak and Superuser I pretty much got my phone to be just as quick as some top of the line phones! Also, I highly recommend SetCPU
It was working happily then there was an update. This included new features like the su binary hanging, only cleared by a reboot, and saying 'allows allow' resulted in all requests being denied. The su binary update process randomly succeeds or fails for no apparent reason.
hey i have the latest version of SU and i am on a rooted HTC desire but all my programs such "Proxy Droid" which needs root access persmission to run, SU tells me that access denied to root :( even if i try to update SU's Binary it tells me fails access to root. can't uninstall SU cz it was installed with the rom itself "Sandvold's ICS BETA 0.18" so i downloaded the lastest offline binary and SU update and installed them in my recovery and all worked smoothly :D
Not so much anymore. I cant seem to get this or Z4Root to run on my LG K7, it just instantly freezes at downloading, or force closes upon opening when they finally do download. Still a great app though.
Previously when I tried to update the binary it fails and my phone gets rebooted automatically. After updating my busybox pro to the latest version the update goes very smoothly. So those who encounter binary update problem please update your busybox to the latest version and then update the binary. That will solve the problem. Until now I ha ve never faced any problem. After update, all data of the previous version except the su binary is saved. So applications won't ask for root access. Thanks.
