In-order to accelerate deployment of large-scale grid-connected rooftopsolar power plants in Surat Smart City, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC)in-association with The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) has developedan Android-based mobile application which consist useful informationregarding the installation of grid-connected solar rooftop solar PV systemsuch as Central policy, State policy, Regulations, and relevant documentsetc.
Furthermore, the “Surat Solar” mobile application will enable residentialand non-residential consumers of Surat Smart City to carry-out preliminaryassessment of a rooftop solar PV system using ‘Rooftop Calculator’, andapply Online directly through this single-window platform.

Note: SMC is playing the role of facilitator for installation ofgrid-connected solar rooftop systems, and SMC will aggregate the demand ofsolar rooftop and transfer it to Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA)/Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited for further installationthrough their selected agencies.
