The APP is good. It could be a bit more intuitive, but it does the job. What I would really like to see is a way to manage 2 or several subwoofers in the same preset (or preset group). Or to be able to assign a default preset based on the type of the inputs (LFE/RCA or High Level connection) see below. In my case, with 2 SVS SB 1000 PRO and I have them connected using LFE for TV and High Level with full range KEF speakers for stereo music. It is a pain to do the switch, and sometimes the app or connection simply does not connect to the subs, leaving me with waiting for lots of seconds, even a minute in order to make the switch on both. When blending 2 subs it is absolutely paramount to have them in sync. So this calls for the need of a group preset. Or it would be really great to have a setting in the APP that would assign a preset automatically depending on the type of input signal. As my example above, having 2 subs with both used with LFE (RCA) and High Level (speaker) inputs, that would be fantastic, no need for a manual switch that takes "forever". Thank you SVS for such great products. Please consider the ideas above, things could be even better.
So I dont want to be too critical of the app. I have a Samsung10+ i know old phone but you would think the app should work no problem. Initially it does work if you delete and then reinstall. The minute your bluetooth disconnects with the sub it does not reconnect unless you delete the app. I still get the notification that I'm not within reach of the sub even with the phone sitting on the sub. My settings remain but the whole process is tiring.
The app is pretty useful and has a fluid UI. it also comes with the tutorial at the beginning and also each section has a pull out menu where you can restart the tutorial just for that section. you obviously need the app if you're going to do extra settings but you can't do physically on the subwoofer. I love the fact that it comes with the presets setting a movies and music.
Great use case, but bad UI/UX. It's great to be able to tweak subwoofer settings from your couch, and it adds additional features not on the subwoofer itself like parametric EQs. But, it's a nightmare to navigate. I had to Google how to use the preset feature. Hiding important 'save' buttons out of sight is a lesson in bad design. Even while writing this review, the app overwrote all my preset changes. A minimalist 1-page app would have been better here. Still does what it needs to, though.
I thought this last update was the fix for connection issues, but unfortunately I'm still having a lot of trouble with the app timing out because it can't find my subs that are right next to me on my couch, with the other sub up front behind the mains. Nothing in my apartment has issues with bluetooth either except for the subs, so signal from my phone isn't the issue. It's a bum deal that this is a feature of the sub that makes it cost more to consumers in the end, but doesn't function properly
S10+ user. Worked fine first time. Range is very limited though so wonder if maybe some of the people complaining about it not connecting may be using it too far away? Unfortunately the app assumes the user is an audiophile who knows what they're doing. To someone new who just updated his sound system, I'm afraid to touch the settings because I dunno what they do - maybe a "for dummies" type of help/info on the options would be useful? Range and complexity only reasons for not giving higher mark.
Bluetooth connectivity issues. I have 2 PB16 Ultras always having Bluetooth connectivity issues. One sub will connect and not the other, says out of range and times out. Says out of range even when phone is right on top of either sub. Bluetooth connectivity is very unreliable. It's very frustrating when trying to tune your system. SVS fix this issue and also modify the app to control due subs simultaneously.
Outstanding app!! Used in conjunction with an SVS SB1000 pro, this app allows specific tuning for both music and movies. Bluetooth connected without a hitch. The initial presets give a good starting point (especially for music) and can be dialled in fairly quickly. Ideally, an SPL meter is needed to match volume levels with an amp without calibration software. I found excellent results just by tweaking and listening but pro's will head for REW and a mic. All in all, fantastic app and sub combo.
Please for the love of God add better support for TWO OR MORE WOOFERS!!. Please. My subwoofers disconnect every time I close app. Well I'm NOT ALWAYS AT HOME! It's bad enough getting one to connect but both. Well it's been 15 mins only 1 will connect and yes they are paired. Use wifi like a normal smart company / person. And allow me to sync subs together because 9/10 times when u wanna turn level up or down it's to both!
The subwoofer constantly disconnects and my settings do not show up. Also, I have to reboot my phone, disconnect from the subwoofer Bluetooth, and then reconnect everything to bring up any settings that I may have previously made. A little more work needs to be done with this app.
Great app, I use it with 2 SB3000 subs which isnt difficult though I would like a way to control both at the same time. It does everything needed, the EQ is wonderful. A great way to tune subs to my hifi while in the prime listening position, perfecto. Edit Thanks for considering adding this feature 😉
UI is odd and unintuitive. The swipe up menu at the bottom is where the nav buttons on my phone are so sometimes when I'm trying to nav away it swipes up instead and vise versa. Would be really great if you could group subs to switch between music and movie mode instead of having to go into each one.
I like this quality its excellent sound I knowested the smooth difference in my phone now I want that pc 4000 tower but wireless Bluetooth outdoor speaker subwoofer to artless walk with since I has no vehical but to transfer it and connect from Bluetooth wireless connection with just a charger socket. And insistently charge fast with long usage if battery 24hours with a battery cooler automatic Systematic optimization. When it becomes like that Holla back with a lower price.$2,000 2much,$300!
SVS has great speakers and equipment. I have a great setup with amazing sound. But this app is horrible. It never connects to sub always saying not in range. Great company with awesome customer support. You guys need to step up your app. Redesign, program, reconfigure something. Money paid for sub & other equipment would expect simple app to work.
Only thing SVS needs to change is the app covers my Android home button row on the bottom of the screen. Otherwise easy to use. I learned how to use PEQs within seconds due to the excellent tutorial. Let this be a lesson to other AV manufacturers on how to design an app!
The app is good. I do wish that you would get rid of the bottom menu with the save and other options and put it all in the top right menu. That way we don't have to swipe up to get to the phone home button.
you know being an ill diabetic.this app is awesome.i can totally adjust any feature remotely.while seated in the listening area.totally eliminating he need to jump up and down so much.also totally from an audio perspective.the ability to totally blend and become part of the performance, and not a seperat entity.drums, bass guitar, keyboard (certain low notes) when blended correctly for level and phase.with your main speakers.the sub should become part of the performance.it shouldnt sound seperat
95% of the time the app says it failes to connect even though it controls the volume. It says no device connected, yet I can change the settings. Cannot save preset options. Seems pretty buggy.
Great feature set but connecting is a real time consuming issue. I tried 2 Android devices, both behave in the same way. When you have 2 subs and want to switch between them it becomes a real PITA
Difficulty connecting, needs to restart app after turning on gps while in app. But, once connected, runs ok. I hope svs adds an auto calibration for room eq and para eq built in the app. Just like elac, and uses your phones built in mic.
Lots of settings to choose from to control the sub's tone..not just volume. A well thought out app and it connected instantly. Tutorial for first time users is a bonus.
Can't even connect to Bluetooth. No troubleshooting offered, so apps useless until I figure out why it won't even show up on my phones bluetooth list
Awesome configurability and great UI & UX. An app I actually enjoyed using when i was setting up the subwoofer (PB-1000 Pro) and when tuning it for integration into my room and my other speakers. A very welcome and useful ability to set up different presets for music and for film. Obviously the hardware has to support this functionality but the fact SVS made it possible to "install" a subwoofer sonically using an app is very cool. I do NOT like that I have to enable GPS to connect via BT tho!
