Why map 'dirty places' ? Mapping is the first step in documenting the problem and understanding the scale at which we need to work to achieve 2019 Swachh Bharat. Reporting with GPS & timestamp helps in locating the issue accurately for municipal corporations.
Why "Twitter"?You can mention @pmoindia sweetly and the short message is also simple & direct
- the picture of the dirty / unhygienic / broken down place will do the talking for itself!
Why no "gallery upload"?Because we don't want to waste time on people who could upload photoshopped images to clog our servers!
Indian municipalities are extremely 'resource-starved' and largely 'under-appreciated' institutions of the world. Most of the times, the problem with places remaining dirty is not because municipalities don't clean them, its because they do not know of the issues! Short on man-power and lack of use of modern technology contributes to this inefficiency rather than their will.
Aim:

- aim to build "Maps" of Dirty/unhygienic areas around the country. Building maps is the first step towards identifying the problem in detail. Sample map is available on our site: www.swachhbharatapp.com
Building maps with images directly means we understand the magnitude of the problem on a micro level. These maps also will help municipalities pin-point pain areas reported by people and take timely action! Thats why we call them Crowd-sourced reports
- by the people, for the people.Also, when you tweet
- the pic, active location and timestamp
- all are tweeted mentioning @pmoindia official handle. So PMO actually has a copy of the problem with tag
- That is considered as a complaint to PMO in itself.
This app is in reply to a larger Clean India Movement, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, from a team of Indians to the whole of India. The Indian government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to cover 1.04 crore households as part of the campaign and provide 2.5 lakh community toilets, 2.6 lakh public toilets, and a solid waste management facility in each town.
In the first version, any person will be able to:
1. Log in to the app with an existing twitter account (if you don't have one, please signup for twitter)2. Authorize app for permissions to tweet a post for you.3. VIEW maps generated for crowd sourced tweet reports!4. Get notifications (managed by Parse Integration
- Analytics & Notification management tool)
The app needs:1. active location information, 2. twitter screen name and 3. ability to take & save pictures from camera app.
Using the app:Step 1: Log in and select appropriate location tagStep 2: Click a picture (medium resolution recommended).Step 3: Tweet a pre-configured message as report of place to PMO India."Please fix [TAG] at [GPS/map url] #swachhbharat @pmoindia (via @swachhbharatapp) “
We save tweet data to generate custom maps of dirty areas shown by different entries.We do not ask for any other information other than your twitter screen name. Most permissions are required by Parse Notification system.

We can only upload a picture through the app's camera. Sometimes it is not possible. Uploading pictures from gallery must be allowed, as some times, it is not possible to upload exactly on the site. So we can click a picture and upload afterwards. I hope, you will understand. Thank you
Tried posting an image of garbage near our building multiple times but I keep getting an error saying "There was a problem posting the complaint". The app does not provide any further information.
Crashes a lot. And no other medium except twitter is provided to register complaints. People who don't use twitter by choice (like me) are being forced to install it. Whats the point of the app when ultimately you have to tweet your complaint.
Very very poor app, I was trying to post some complaints in my locality but it never posted and showing some error each time even though permission is ON, thought it will be helpful for public but didn't expected this... Waste of time
It does not post. It also does not allow you to select pics from gallery. I am a developer myself and I can feel that this app is created by devs with little to no prior experience.
The app does not work and not able to post pictures. It's a shame that despite several similar reviews the problem persists. Shame shame shame. I doubt the intention now.
most faulty app I have seen till now. most of the time server busy. not able to post. no option to post saved photo.

I tried to register complaint. Didn't work. Please allow public to use this app to the fullest. Such a great initiative but poor management.
why do I have to sign in via twitter? No other option available and later on the apps has permission to post tweets on my behalf and I can't even change it. Funny and crazy.
Appreciate the intent If I understand right, this is an initiative of an NGO/ individual to enable public to complain. The intent is appreciable. Looks like there are some technical glitches that will improve over time. To the reviewers.. I am seeing some bad reviews with one star... please see this as an app for us and by us. Help the developer understand the issue and improve. If this app is difficult to use, imagine complaining directly in gov offices. Dear developers Please be polite.
We stay in house no 282 2nd main 7th cross gokulam 3rd stage mysore near sbi. UGD problem is there since long time. Drainage water flows in front of the house due to broken pipes etc. Complained many times and issue never get solved. corporator and ugd engineers never care to resole the issue permanently. Down loaded this app but after taking picture the app stops and not able to post complait. Can any one please please look in to it and move my complaint and request to higher authority.
I tried to upload some pictures and I am not sure if the pictures are uploaded or not.. it starts well and promising but next step and you are in dubious state whether anything happen or not
unable to post complain. Trying from last 1 year. always show unable to post complain. I have tried with Samsung,MI phones as well.

I cannot post my complaint via this app. It shows an error "failed to tweet you complain". I am getting this error from 1 month. Please remove this bug
Failed to lodge my complaint, no option for uploading video, pictures. As we are frustrated by the garbage collector of our area.
Good effort to clean our India. But there is a issue that when I want to make a complaint it asks that login to tweeter but I am not have tweeter account. We want to post complaint thorough this app only. Please make some updates in this app.
Please allow provision to select image from Gallery while posting complaints. Currently the app allows only real time camera pictures only
though app is good but when i post a complain after clicking a pic the system shows error in posting tweet... thrice I tried, do something to resolve it..
App doesn't work. I've tried to post complaint many time but it only shows error every time.
The app crashes and fails to successfully put up a tweet. Been trying for the ladt 5 days.
If I want to send the pictures or videos which were taken before the app was installed...can't send then what is the use of this app
Initiative is great.. but app functioning is poor. Crashes every now and then.
At first my photos were not reviewed. But when those were reviewed it has been about three weeks and no action is taken yet.
when I tried to take the pic of garbage and after I click on post button, it shows the toast message of We are going to post your message, but the app screen is still on select your area, and in my complaint segment there is no complaints of mine... the major flow of your is not working properly... this is the major bug of your end...my device is samsung galaxy j6 and android v8.0 and locatioi set in high accuracy and I have provided all the permissions. By the way I am a quality analyst by profession😉
