This small piece of software automatically switch on airplane mode at night and switch it off in the morning. You have the option to keep Wi-Fi status untouched. The on/off timer will be honored after reboot and will automatically adjusts to timezone changes.

Simple and effective although my 2.1 phone sometimes doesn't reconnect to network. No issues on 2.2 though.
