With 7,000 freshwater and marine beaches and swimming sites on the Swim Guide app and website makes finding clean, swimmable water simple. And thanks to Pulse Energy, Swim Guide now has water quality information for over 600 New Zealand beaches.
The Swim Guide is the only charity app of its kind. The Swim Guide provides you with current recreational water quality information for your favourite beaches and swimming holes. Every beach is marked with a Green or Red icon so you know when the water at your favourite beach is clean for swimming and when the water quality is poor.

Best app idea! Now I'm not scared to swim in a lake. This helped the family to find a beautiful, safe environment without the fear of contracting ear infections and such the following days. Knowing the beaches that test well consistently gave us all a fearless day of fun that we were able to completely prepare for our needs and itinerary in advance thanks to the thorough explanation of the resources and amenities available. Definitely made for a stress-free outing.

8 beaches showing in ireland. the beach i found the poster at isnt even listed. is the app not syncing or you just dont have any beaches listed?
The app helps identify... acceptable lakes, rivers to swim at...it helps prevent people from getting affected by different kind of bacteria which they never know existed in the place
Like the idea, wish there was a way to filter search for fresh and saltwater since I live by a sea inlet but prefer to swim in freshwater lakes.
This app is awful, I live right on the border of Devon and Cornwall and the closest beach it can find is...youghal...that's 310 km away nope sorry rubbish!!

Brilliant app! I install it and now I know I should forget of my dreams as nearest beach I can swim is 413km away from my home. Btw I am living in Birmingham, the UK.

Didn't know of any in Wales!!! Needs a lot more info from the UK to be of any use to me.

Did not realize there were only ocean beaches listed. I live in NH. We have like 9 miles of coastline. I know where those beaches are! Not a single freshwater beach listed in NH.
All beaches in Durham region Ontario have not been up dated since last year....

Great concept. But, I don't know how trustworthy it is: I've seen mis-matches between the online map icon and the info one gets when they click on the icon (website)...and also mis-matches between the info/rating for a place on the website versus the phone app. When one says the place is green/safe...and the other red/not safe...which are we meant to believe? Defeats the purpose/usefulness of the app. Were this fixed, it would be 5*.
