Invitation system is not working, and the time slots are broken up in late afternoon, early evening (?), Viewing of photos gets stuck and you have to completely log out. Love this company so far.
The app is super glitchy. Despite clearing the cache and cookies regularly as requested by the company, my IP address is consistently blocked and then password no longer works. The company suggested I use a different device. That's not fixing whats wrong with their app and creating a positive UX. I'm deactivating my host account and deleting this app. There's no point in adding extra stress to something that shouldn't be stressful at all
I have booked with swimply a total of 12 times. 3 of those times the pools were not available. The money had been taken out of my account and I have yet to see a refund. I have contacted swimply multiple times, (there is no phone number) via email..no response. Eventually I talked to the owners of the pool and my booking was not even on their schedule, it was on mine and swimply charged me. Guest customer service is non existent.
The idea is great. I use it often. But the app itself is missing a lot of things. 1 you can't see the reviews hosts leave for you. 2 you can't ask questions before you request booking.
booked a pool for the weekend but was told by the owner it was unavailable for the time listed. I still got charged the service fee. how do you charge a fee or not provide a refund when the service is not provided?
Searches do not produce valid results. The results include pools that do not meet your search criteria. Example, you enter a date, time, and # of guests. The results include pools that are not available on that date and in the range of times.
Upgraded my review from 2 to 4 stars due to EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD customer service which is prompt, helpful and fair. Had our first simply and will do more. Why not? Great idea...an Air BnB for pools...BUT this Ap is glitchy, difficult, and slow bit not impossible, it works on my desk top...million dollar idea w beer budget
Speaking from the owner point of view, there should be more options for live customer support. On weekends none of the agents respond to text messages or calls. The payments view delayed and does not update or reflect earnings.
The app and service are pretty kludgy. As a host, i don't have all the necessary features and functionality necessary to manage the reservation. In terms of service, they have a pathetic rain out policy. Must reschedule within one week or swimmer loses $$s paid. If host cancels on behalf of client, we must pay swimply their 15% service fee. Often a week is impractical; perhaps more rain, the pool is rented out or heaven forbid host/client works during the week w/o time for pool party.
Navigation and notification could be improved
It's working ok for first booking, but lacks a lot of features and easier UI. For instance I had a customer change from a party of 8 to 6...which entitled them to a refund of 20$ (2 people for 2 hours)...I could find no way to do this in the app so gave them cash. This is fine if I am home...if I am away it means we would need to meet outside of the reservation time. Photo upload on the app is awkward. Shows the ability to zoom in or out, but just snaps back to the default view which is wrong
The app is an amazing idea I love that I can book pools for private use at a reasonable price. But the app itself isn't very intuitive. My recent bookings have disappeared and I'm not able to search for pools since accidentally clicking "add my own pool". I've had to use the browser site in lieu of the app to fix these bugs. Also having to select a time to use the pool before searching is a pain. I'd like to be able to search for the pool, then see it's availability as well.
On a really hot day, after being stuck inside I took my two littles for a swim at someone's backyard. Their instructions after you book are easy to follow! And the experience was really fun and special even though we only got two hours. They added mist sprinklers and free floaties to play with in a pool all to ourselves. It was great. The Host was easy to chat with on app. Highly recommend to anyone who needs to cool down at a pool, for a good price!
Great concept. Me and my friends were initially excited to use it. However bad issues, needs overhaul. 1, no notification if reservation went through. 2, logged me out multiple times each attempt to message owner. 3, owner says reserved certain hours for me, but those hours display as reserved by someone else....etc. Ruined a weekend relying on the app. Maybe should've done it well in advance. Don't rely on doing this on the road/same day or even extending the reserv on spot. Nightmare.
Ok I already posted a review prior to attending my reservation. My experience was excellent. Out host was kind, courteous and accomodating. The home was beautiful inside and out. Only complaint is the website and app. The website crashes so frequently I downloaded the app but even the app can glitch. Lots of options for my area at all different price ranges and accessories. This app is a genius idea. The Airbnb or pool rentals.
The whole thing is trash. The prices are deceiving, not actual prices. When you search it it gives you a more acceptable prices. Then, it changes before your eyes. SCAMMMM. Useless. The app crashes all the time. Just disappointing. Great idea...but needs better programming.
Very rude! never will come here again she kicked us even though we were complying on the payments. Came to me very rude, yelling and was being disrespectful in front of my kids and family. we did nothing wrong just communicating and she said " alright you know what all of you have to get out right now, like now you guys have to go". horrible service . we still had 2 hrs left and she STILL kicked us out . highly don't recommend.
This app sucks as a host, not user friendly, no access to a calendar for my bookings
I registered my pool to rent. I am not able to get into the app from my phone. It keeps saying my email is not valid. I can only get in to the app from a computer. So if I'm out or away from my computer and someone requests to book I can't respond. I've sent swimply over 10 messages asking for help or to fix the problem. They took a week to respond and all they said when they did respond is are you still having this problem? No help at all, very unprofessional. 3 weeks and still no help!
This app is a godsend for those like myself that have an apartment and a small backyard. My dog loves going to these houses and enjoy swimming with my friends. I wish this app expands and more areas to select since it is not available yet in some places like Sedona, AZ etc. Overall tho A+ but I wish they had a text box to host while booking and 30 minute selections and places where you can easily leave a review for the host and renters...it is so hard to find. Love it tho!
Generally good. Overall I enjoy the app and pools. We have used it twice and have 2 more set up. The app is generally easy to use but you cannot make changes to a reservation which is annoying. It takes a long time to get customer service to help. I recommend it.
Can't even log into the app, keeps telling me to enter a valid email ID. Email address is correct and I have deleted and reinstalled the app - still no luck. I can only login via browser, but I don't get any notifications, so I've missed out on bookings. Calendar is clunky, needs updating.
I can't even set up my account. It keeps telling me invalid username or password, smh
Pools come up that are closed during the time that I input in the search. Please make the referral links actually credit your account when used. Overall I've enjoyed this swimming, but some hosts aren't very prompt to approve listings. I don't even know why some are on there when they decline everything. Would be nice if my friend and I could get a pool together where I pay for an hour and she pays for an hour, but they block out the hour before and after a reservation so we couldn't do that.
I was excited when I installed this app, and registered my pool on their platform. I received reservations right away, and the platform work great... for the first week. Since the end of the first week, there have been persistent calendar conflicts, in spite of their July 24 app update to "optimise availability calendar"... the app can't keep up with messages... and last week, my account with Stripe, Swimply's escrow company for host pmt, cancelled my account. A great idea, but probably rushed.
The experience itself was great! The app has a ton of issues to work out. Kept showing me times that were booked, wouldn't let pay, etc. But my host was able to get everything worked out and we had an amazing time.
Can't set up an account. Kept saying that my email already exist. Tried multiple emails and it kept saying that. And I kept getting internal errors. If you're going to talk about your app on national TV, make sure it works before people try to use it. Waste of time.
Does not save your sign in info and brings you back to square one every single time 🤦♀️ Does not send me notifications from guests I can reply to. Have to go back on the app to respond to guests. Very annoying.. fix the bugs please! Also if I was looking for my own pool to rent it keeps showing me California. I live in Florida.
Could take off. Unfortunately, right now, its too difficult to understand where the pools are around you (8 miles from my house could be one train, or it could be a train, a bus, and a foot pedal ferry) and there's no incentive to try out the app or invite friends to it. I wont uninstall but i dont know how well the app will work for a very niche supply.
I think this is a really cool app, but the searching can be improved. I should be able to filter what distance I want to travel... Why am I seeing places over 20 miles away? Also, I would love to be able to sort based on total price of the amenities selected. Like, if I want a heated pool, I should be able to sort based on pool cost + heating, especially since each pool's prices vary so greatly!
