Switch SMS Messenger - Customize chat, Themes

So far it works as advertised. It handles the dual sim without a hitch and you can switch between sim quickly. Appearance is very customisable albeit with themes that are a bit on the juvenile side. I take two stars of because I paid in order to have no commercials and what do I have in the menu....? An effing commercial for some effing quiz which I do not manage to make dissappear.

I'm enjoying this app. The appearance of the conversations is striking! I would love it if I could have the text pop up on the screen when I get it rather than having to open up the phone to see it. But I do love the app! It's fun. 02/17/19: update: for some reason I can't use any notification sounds more except stock, and even those aren't working. I'm deleting app because I found something else where I can use sounds I like.

I love the look, but mms doesn't work. When ppl send group messages, I get everything individually, outside the group. People also can't send me pics in group messages. This really makes the app quite useless, so I'm going to have to change. Haven't heard back from support yet. I have a note 9, and the problem has been going on for months, although it recently got worse. I wish they'd fix it and also add a search feature; then the app would be perfect!

I love the app. My fav things in it are being able to customize each contacts wallpaper and being able to pin those contacts you talk to the most. I would just love to be able to use my own picture on the main screen. I also wish there were more font choices and was able to change the color. There need to be more theme options also. I would definitely pay the $12.99 if there were more customization features.

Love the concept, and I can easily use my Bitmoji stickers. I like that I can download wallpapers to my gallery then use them as customized backgrounds for each chat. I do wish there were more bubble options and text colors to choose from, though. And for some reason, there is a delay when I try to pull up a conversation or send a text. I hate the ads of course, and I was glad to see there is a paid version. However, it's like $15 which I think is salty. I would pay $5 - $8 maybe.

It is a great program, but it does need to be fixed for texting. Sometimes the text will not scroll up automatically and I don't know if there is a new text line unless I scroll up to see if anything new was added. Once that is fixed it will be well worth it. Few other bugs. I have a screen caption of three quarters of my text program whited out, and when you are texting a person and turn the phone sideways to take a picture it doesn't store the picture to memory to send to the person.

Worked great when I first installed it. Then around the beginning of March, it quit working. program does not notify me that I receive text messages anymore. the only way I would know I got a text message is if I was looking at the screen when it came in. now that doesn't even work. one of the menu options is notification problems - should be a hint. links to phone settings, which when I went to find that in addition to the 20 or so random message cues it is looking at, 80 more were deleted

It has potential, from the reviews I've read the developers are quick to fix and respond. But I uninstalled it ultimately because it lacked a sophisticated UI. Themes are good and all, but I personally rather just have a clean looking User interface than the ability to put pictures of palm trees in the background of the app I'll probably try again in a year or so to see what's updated.

I left go sms because it had too many issues they weren't fixing. I got this app and liked it because of the many beautiful themes, but im annoyed at the fact that the same message appears multiple times over and over again in the pop up window and no matter how you go about it, the notification sound or light will not work. Not sure if I'll keep this app. I'd really like too, but if no improvements are made I will uninstall.

I'm giving this app a 3 because I like the different customization options that it has. However, after using this app for about a week, it started not wanting to send texts, and saying a text is still sending when it wasn't. Another issue is when I reply to a message, my message disappears from the screen. I have to get out of the app, then get back in, in order to see my message. It let's extremely aggravating.

Honestly, I really want to give this a good review. It's beautiful and mostly customizable (I would suggest the ability to change bubble color). That being said... I've noticed (after purchasing a lifetime access) that in group conversations, it is difficult to impossible who sent what incoming messages. It'll show a bubble with text with their name, but it's directly behind the incoming message or picture. The avatar for each message is a collage of all conversation members. Please fix this.

**Update** I don't know what happened during the last update but there is a MAJOR lag when loading the app, getting into conversations, & sending texts. All contacts no longer show their name, but rather only the first letter of a name. The lag & glitches are enough that I'm considering getting rid of the app, though I've loved it up until recently. It would have been nice to have emailed this issue from the app rather than changing my rating, but that feature isn't in the settings anymore.

I love this app; it's very useful and fun. I've yet to have any troubles sending or receiving messages, or even calling from within the app. I love the different themes available to be able personalize it to your liking. However, I do wish that they would add more options for personalizing the inbox as a whole, and the messages individually for each contact.

It was great until the update. Then it brought back texts from over a year ago. Didnt give a bulk delete option so i had to delete each conversation one at a time. It took forever! Even previously blocked numbers. Then it took away the changing the font. I can change the font in the main sms window. But it wont change the font in my conversations, or my contact list. Its only a partial font change, so whats the point. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. Its a mess.

Good apart from the top bar to do with gaining coins or something which is annoyingly taking up space limiting the amount of text you can see as you write or read previous messages. I understand the need for adverts but when a pop up arrives during messaging this is very very annoying and inconvenient also there is no explanation towards the rewards, it seems very complicated I don't get it, don't see the point it seems very unnecessary and it's really annoying. The whole point of this app is to send messages and receive messages I really couldn't give a stuff about earning some stupid rewards in dollars wish you would remove this pointless annoyance as it is ruining a otherwise wonderful app

Installed about 2 hours ago, and it's ok. However, I'm not sure if it's lacking user friendliness or just lacking features. I'd like to be able to set my own backgrounds from images in my gallery, as well as customize the styles and colors of chat bubbles, but I don't see any settings for these things. Instead I see links to download themes, but I don't want to do that, as the selection is quite small. Adding a private box would really be great as well. I'd like to see these suggestions implemented into the app. It would be a great incentive to change my rating to 5 stars.

Tried it for about a month. Features are nice, but it can be very slow, buggy, and crashes occasionally. Eventually uninstalled because the ads are just too intrusive. If it was stable and the ads were more passive, I would give it 4⭐. The reason it wouldn't be 5 is because the gifs require you to open a separate app window and some of the features are formatted in a way that requires other users to have this app as well for correct viewing/functionality. Nice try fron the app authors tho.

It's a good app. It's not as clean functioning as textra. Main complaint is a simple fix, but when you click to respond to a text, it doesn't let you type your message until you hand click ok the text line. I'm not sure why they didn't set it up to automatically have text line selected for us.

Very good replacement for the stock messenger app, I much prefer this. Even the free version is spot on, they only show 1 advert per session which I don't find intrusive at all. They have to make their money somehow considering they are supplying the app for free. Absolutely spot on, would highly recommend, nice work developer's, if I'm still happy with it after I've been using it for a bit longer, I will be purchasing it. keep it up. 5*****

The app is great, the themes are wonderful, the ad's are necessary, I get it...what I don't get is the inability to move on with a text after watching a ad which tries to FORCE me to play a game I DON'T like before I can resume with texting!! Nice try but, however, I'm looking for something that will play your ad and be done. Uninstalling.

Installed on an LG V20. Lots of colorful themes available, but most of them are rather juvenile. I really like sliding individual messages to the left to reveal store/move/delete options for that message. You can change bubbles, but not individual send/receive - they change as a pair. Good selection of fonts and colors. Probably the most annoying thing is that half the typing field is taken up by a dopey face and "cute bunny" icon. If I could find a way to get rid of those, I would buy it.

Without a doubt Switch is the slickest SMS App I've ever used. Operates smoothly, rare for an app with skins. Usually the SMS Apps most focused on a slick design fail to put the same effort into it's operation, but haven't had a single glitch with Switch. (Rhyme not intended) Some Ads do pop up, but honestly there aren't as many as you'd think with an app like this and unlike other apps, the Ads are easy to exit out of. That's a first for sure. Great app, lots of fun!

I absolutely love love love this app. Actually the best I've tried and I have tried nearly all of them. Love being able to change themes and make it pretty. And give each contact a different theme too. It's beautifully clear and very easy to use. The only other thing that would definitely make it the bestest sms app is if you can "swipe away" to delete message / conversation.

Its a good app, fast to send a message the UI is good like how I can block a message. But some of the problems i have are the screen shots before i download the app are a kinda turn of cos not sure what it actually is like and also i cant view my blocked message. And not a lot of features except the text part but its pretty good other then that😁

Not that impressed... Dissappointed by how many times the app is crashing... 82 times in the past 2 days! I want an SMS app that allows me to change the background (free themes available to download) like this one but need something much more stable as I already have enough issues with my phone due to not enough memory among other things.

The customization is good, and the adds are tolerable... But it often takes time for the app to load messages... I'll receive a text, click on it and look at a blank screen for 10-30 seconds before it loads up, and I'm on a new phone so I know it isn't my hardware.

PROS: customization of themes & colors; CONS re: functionality: 1) an unreasonably long sync time when initiating transfer to Switch SMS Messenger as my new default, & when switching from another platform for Switch SMS--who has time for that?! 2) no capability to "pin" priority conversations to the top; 3) not all messages are synced when compared to the stock default Messenger; 4) Search feature not consistently successful. It also costs $14.99 to remove annoying, prominent ads. DELETE!!

Just what I needed! A cross between Mood and Textra! Still a little buggy. When I edit the conversation name, it's fine until I make another app the main messaging app and then come back to this app and make it once again the main messaging app. The conversation name then reverts back to original name. How do I get animated emojis? Would also like a more robust color/transparency picker. Thanks for all you've done already. Keep up the great work!

I love this app. I've been looking for a customizable ad free SMS app for a few years now. Lemme tell ya, that search is over! EDIT: IDK, man. I'm not sure if they were always there or not, but the ads got to me. I went back to my default SMS for now. Too bad. I really liked the themes.
