Switchmate Smart Lighting

Worked well with only a few connection issues, (switch busy) Until the last 2 months, app reset and I've have to reconnect my multiple devices, 4 times. Very Annoying.

3 times this week it had lost all of my switches. I go in program them, they work, come back 8 hours later all of them are gone.

Helpful but no always . Loses connectivity to device from time to time and you have to delete and reinstall device as new switch.

Poor execution on app AND switch. App is buggy and doesn't work as described, always claiming it's "busy". Switch is audibly loud and often grinds it's gears to "flip a switch" and never flips it. Bluetooth was a horrible way to go when talking range for device. Plan on returning hardware to store for full refund after I uninstall this and never look back.

Well the app does not work at all. When I connected it the first time and went through the set up it worked but then when I set up a timer it never worked. Had bluetooth on and connected to the switchmate the whole time and when time came.... Nothing happened. If I manually press the button on the switchmate it will turn on and off but what is the point of having this thing if I still have to do it myself? I just had to learn for myself to believe all the bad reviews I suppose. Would be a great invention if it actually worked. Good thing I only bought one.

Great app before I upgraded to Nougat, but now I am unable to find the switchmate. Please fix ASAP, thanks!! UPDATE: It has worked for a while and I have just not updated the review. It could be faster to connect.

I had to restart my phone to get it to connect again. Now I gotta see if the device is going to work like it should.

I bought the switchmate and I loved it it works perfect can turn lights on and off any light switch you preferred to use 😄😊👍😂😎😉

Worked great for a while, got the new update and suddenly it's out of range even when I'm standing right next to it. Uninstalled and reinstalled and now can't even read that there is a switchmate

It was working great until I had to change the batteries. Now it is not pairing so I'm not able to use the switch.

Welcome home feature does not work, it is very loud and it only works about 30 feet vs the 150 that they claim.. I live in an apartment and I have to get out of my bed go towards the hallway to make it work. needs to make it where it can use Wi-Fi to really make it useful.. it takes so long to connect via Bluetooth, that by the time it does connect, you're already in the house and needs to be able to connect to the Amazon Echo.. contacted the company about the welcome feature not working and they gave me a really short go away answer telling me it only works one time. I emailed them back explaining that it doesn't even work one time and they never responded again

I installed the app, and it refuses to pair correctly with the 2 switchmates that I've purchased. Apparently​ the devices don't seem to connect easily to an Android device (I own more than a few. Luckily, I ended up using my wife's iPhone to pair and set the switches up. Now, I have them programmed to turn on at sunset, and.off at sunrise. They're quite nice. The app, NOT so much.

Great concept...... BUT.... it would be EXCELLENT if it didn't say "switchmate is busy, please try again" EVERYTIME I try and use it. I tried turning the Bluetooth off, then back on. Didn't work. Also, the device is extremely loud. Please, Please, Please find a fix for this error message. It is extremely irritating to not be able to use the device. I had to Uninstall the app and reinstall it in order for the message to go away. But, once you uninstall the app you have setup your devices all over again. Just frustrating. This happens EVERYTIME I use it.

App constantly states "Device is out of range" and "Switchmate is busy, please try again" This is a complete waste of money. I am now stuck with a useless device since my return date has expired. Don't make a mistake by buying this useless device.

I can't even use this thing. It keeps saying I have to turn screen overlay off and I don't know what that is or how to do it. I press allow and it takes me to a bunch of apps and this one isn't listed so I have no idea what to do but return this thing. Thanks anyway

I wanted to like it, and it is really cool, but it just doesn't work. I've had it for 4 months, and it's always been a bit iffy, but now it's totally stopped working with Bluetooth. Only during the setup can it still work, after that it's always busy, even with new batteries.

The latest update took away timers completely. Widgets would be nice. Connectivity is so slow. Such a great idea. Just wish the functionality lived up to the concept. Will not work from next room with door open. Still laggy after latest update, however it is slightly faster than before. I do not know where the welcome home feature went and I cannot set timer any longer. Could be due to the fact that I have Wi-Fi scanning turned off and nearby devices is also turned off. So my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not active unless I turn them on. It could have something to do with not having the welcome home feature. However I refuse to keep my Wi-Fi on my Bluetooth continuously on so I'm willing to sacrifice the welcome home feature. Occasionally it still says on the app that smart switch is busy try again later. I don't really understand this. Busy doing what? Being magnetized to my light switch? I know it's just a glitch in the system but how aggravating is it. There should be a widget you can put on your home screen two turn Smart Switch off and on without having to open the app. That would be extremely convenient. Maybe the developers could work on a widget that can be placed on the home screen. That would be much easier then opening the app and turning it off and on that way. Anyway the improvements are appreciated. But this is still not a perfect device and the interface between the device and the phone is still glitchy, laggy and full of bugs.

Loved the concept. I actually was going to design something like this but I had stumbled upon it in home Depot. I was very excited as my fantasy was available for purchase and I could get it immediately. But after coming home I realised that even though laggy , everything worked except the timer. No matter what i do the timer did not work. I used a Samsung note 3 first and then tried to change the phone to Samsung s6. Just did not work. Next day went back to home Depot and got the device exchanged. But still no luck. The other device timer did not work. Even the home Depot sales guy could not make it work using his own phone. And more over even when he tried to test the timer on the display unit in the store he could not make it work. At last he said he did not know what to say. But still i got it exchanged as i just loved the concept. Later when I came home I had a feeling that the issue must be due to software. And since then i.e. yesterday 6 April I'm waiting for a new update that could probably fix the timer issue. The only reason why I purchased this device is because of the timer as I need the lights to go on automatically when my phone alarm goes on in the morning. And that's only possible with a timer.

Great concept, if only the app worked. It has been saying "switchmate is busy" since I installed the thing. I have a Galaxy S6. Also, it will show out of range if I'm not in the same room. I would've bought one for every room if the app actually worked. Do you guys plan to make a switchmate with multiple switches? The light and fan toggles in my room are too close to have 2 separate switchmates.

Is great but when I first installed the app it always said swich mate is busy. So I uninstalled and installed this app and it is working fine. Also ether all the comments on people's reviews are copied and pasted or a whole company never found out how many problems can be fixed by uninstalling and installing an app can do.

First, thought 2 units came in package - wanted one at each end of hall. My bad for not looking closer @ description on HSN. Second, unit works OK, but can only connect to one device - duh, bluetooth. This makes unit virtually useless, since I have multiple devices spread around home for quick & easy access. WiFi based system would work much better. Alexa compatibility may help here, but will it work with these older units???

Keep saying it's busy or out of range. I tried again right next to it and still said the same.
