Android devices can display various symbols, but entering them is not easy. SymbolsPanel provides a way of entering them.

This is designed as Mushroom plugin. You can use this also as stand-alone app, but I recommend to use it with a Input Method supporting Mushroom plugins.(Mushroom is a mash-up feature on Input Method "Simeji". It is implemented on many japanese IMEs, such as Simeji, OpenWnn, ATOK and more.)
In stand-alone use, entered symbols is copied to the clipboard by pressing Copy button. To paste it to a input area, touch the area and hold, then select Paste in the menu displayed.
When called from IME as Mushroom plugin, only pressing Apply button, the symbols is entered to the current input area directly.
Note:Depending on fonts or codesets on the application you use, some symbols may not be handled properly. For example, some symbols will not be displayed if the font in your device is not implemented information for that symbols. In another example, if a mail client you use can handle codeset US-ASCII only, it will not handle properly the symbols outside of US-ASCII, such as ☎.If you send an email or write a message on the net, the recipients' environment (fonts, apps, etc...) decides whether they can read symbols. In particular, If the message is seen by unspecified person, avoiding usage of unfamiliar symbols is safe.

The configurability of this app, especially when used in conjunction with SP Builder and an app such as Unicode Map that shows all characters available in the system font, makes it the most useful of the keyboard supplements that I've tried. To all those complaining about "not enough symbols" – add them yourself! 🙅 That said, the default arrows page lacks ➡⬅ ⬆⬇. Hints: ① Select the notification option so you can open the panel on top of your active app. When you touch "copy", the panel disappears and you can immediately paste. ② Create a favorites list by renaming the first page (long-press on the dropdown) or by creating a new page with Builder. You can copy symbols from other pages to this page, and delete unwanted symbols.
No ads, comfortable system integration, separated character categories, easy to copy and use. Shows an editable description for each symbol, allows you to change symbols' positions and allows adding new symbols! I recommend it a lot!
Awesome app. Has NO ANNOYING ADS, all the symbols show, its fast and lightweight. Jus need some more cool symbols.
Wonderful. Should be part of the Android OS. Love being able to access it easily through the notification area! So many symbols. Dazzling.
I like it, but it would be better if you could add superscripts and subscripts from 0 to 9 into the free version and add a minus superscript. It would help when taking down maths and science notes
This app indicates no permissions needed when installed..but..actually has read phone state and modify sd card permissions..loss of one star!
Very useful app. Been using it for a long time and only just found the preferences menu — even better now!
Its perfect to use you just copy and paste its really easy and it downloaded really fast it really needs more symbols tho but still a cool app :) ☆★☆★
Does exactly what it says on the tin, without fuss. Found other utils as good in most ways, but chose this one for its quick & easy drop down list selection of subsets (Greek, Latin, currency, mathematics, etc). [Using on Asus TF101 and Samsung Galaxy S3]
It works for online but not texting. Like I send a star to someone and on their phone it shows up as &. Also other symbols don't work with texting. Please change!
It will be 5 ★, if include the webdings & wingdings font, and also iconic picture describe common activities/things.
See no symbol I want, like all others it's same old symbols..
Has most of the symbols you want and eliminates the clutter. At least for social use. Well categorized! シ
I started using SymbolsPanel with a very unique keyboard called MessagEase. I am very happy with the results that the combination of these two apps have created. If you are looking for advanced developement in keyboard symbols creativaty, then I highly recommend this app.
But I wish we could get to it through the menu options & it needs more symbols.
Some glitches, but overall this app is pretty useful.
Its pretty good but it doesn't have enough for me to right the whoe wingdings alphabet.
has not been updated sice 2012. won't work with current devices, locks fone up & must pull battery to reset. what happened? it used to be very good & reliable.
I think they should make emojis for Android and i think it's to much for one little symbols,just make it into a keyboard
Most of the symbols are of no use but it's good for basic stuff like hearts
Needs more just for fun ones..but the basics are there for what I needed.

Symbols keyboard has too many permissions. This gives you all the symbols without the permissions
Interface can be a while to get used to；Long press on names can edit；as well as the contents of the list 。Builder Add-ons available to add more pages by yourself, self-customization 。

Been looking for an app for symbols & OMG!!! Best app there is. No ads & most used symbols. Needs more but this is still awesome.

Decent app with a very arbitrary selection of symbols. Lack of keyboard integration and the ability to add custom symbols costs it that last star. Hope you can improve it. The selection is ok, but hardly comprehensive, giving the user a little more control over the symbols they need becomes essential.
