Latest updated suddenly removed all my accounts and settings? Got a pop up stating that a new interface would be available, but that's the one I have been using for a while now. Also, the restore from backup feature doesn't work, even though backup up json files are present in the selected folder.

All posts in my "watching" list were deleted after the last update. Happened once or twice before and is getting kind of annoying

This new update is unexpectedly great so I'm posting to shout-out. I thought I'd have a battle reconfiguring settings, adapting to new interfaces, or just adjusting to the new look. None of those issues occurred and I've had a blast using it. I've used this app for several years and the way it runs now has given new life to browsing reddit. On the plus side, a lot of issues I experienced in prior versions have been fixed (e.g. direct video sharing, stuttering/connectivity, internal browser)

Edit: thanks for responding to my review. I was able to find the sorted search, it was justnt intuitive to me that it was part of the chipper option which I disabled. I edited my review. Disappointed with this new redesign. I can no longer search and filter results based on time (Day, Month, etc). And a lot of the previous functionality has been deleted.

Not entirely sure why the dev is reverting back to the original design, since I had no qualms with it, as with others, but the fact that he has rapidly responded to the positive and negative feedback is pretty remarkable. This shows that he's interested in how we feel and our experience. I personally kinda liked the new UI, even though it takes some getting used to, but no issue with reverting. Hopefully he can implement a UI "switch" so to speak, to satisfy both crowds barking at each other.

Edit: Dev responded with an update :) I've had to reinstall the free version of this to go back to the old design... The pro version has an option to go back to Classic Sync but it's not quite alike. The main differences are the dark theme colours and the top-right menu, especially the dice that appears to reroll random subs. If there was a way to have that back, and do away with the floating action button (and put its options in the top right menu instead), then this app is easily five stars.

This app is a highly functional and customizable reddit browser. It works great out of the box and there is still very few settings that I've changed since I started using it, but all the options you could think of are available to you. The app is very fluid and does not seem to use lots of power or drain the battery. For reference I am on a Pixel 3a.

This is just about the best thing to ever happen to Reddit. This is life changing. I'm able to browse so much faster and more efficiently it's an odd feeling. Even flipping through pictures or gifs is so streamline and effortless. there's so much customization necessary. there's a learning curve to the options, but it's all in here. just a fantastic app. one of my favorite of all.

I've been using this app for years, and it really was the best. However, over the last few months I've been having constant issues loading any kind of video or gif, among other issues that reinstalling, clearing cache and data don't resolve. I keep waiting for an update to address these issues, but as of December it's been almost 8 months since the last one. Is Sync for Reddit abandonware? I wouldn't recommend buying unless regular updates resume.

Thanks for reverting the changes. The new update looks nice, but it requires more hand movement which put me off my what I'm used to. Searching was one button, but the new design I had to swipe from the left side of the screen to get to search. And sorting took more movement since I had to move my hands from the top of the screen to the bottom. I tried to customize it to what I'm used to but it still required more hand/finger movement.

Issues with video links. I've been using this app for years now, but over the last month or so it has been having issues opening video links, mainly from the Reddit video player. It also has issues playing gifs, both from external sources and the Reddit gif player. It's at the point that I may finally try one of the competitor products.

Update: been using this app exclusively for like six years at least. It's the best one out there. I've been using this app for ages, but about a month ago gif streaming broke and it's really annoying. It takes ages for Sync to load a gif from imgur or gyficat. It looks like it's loaded, but it won't play until way later. Edit: it was fixed but now the bug is back again for most gifs

Sync Pro has been my favourite reddit client until recently where an issue had popped up with the app freezing and becoming unresponsive. I have to close the app and then restart it. This is on a OnePlus 7 Pro which I'm fairly sure isn't the issue as it has the highest amount of ram on any smartphone available (12GB RAM). If this could be resolved I'd be happy to give this five stars but given how the app is performing and the price paid for it, I'm disappointed.

App was really great for a long time. That's part of why I paid for the Pro version (removes ads, too). Videos don't load properly most of the time anymore, and the dev seems to have abandoned the app ("taking a break") after backlash to a very sudden and jarring UI/UX update (later rolled back) and hasn't updated the app since April.

Was looking for a new Reddit app as thw one I was using was missing some features, so I downloaded a heap and tried them out. Sync ticked every box, and also has some features I didn't think of when looking for a new Reddit app, but now love. It's highly customisable, easy to use, intuitive, and just perfect for my needs.

I lost my multiple vertical columns with no images setting from the last update? I loved this app because of how customizable it was but this feature has been taken away for some reason? I tried to keep this app as minimal as possible... I was told to switch to cards view but I can't hide the preview image and it is still only one column of cards when I would like to see two. Thank you for the quick response!

Great Reddit App!!! Would love some more download/ bulk download features and controls. Still need a reliable way to save to external storage (SD Card). Also, it feels like the recent updates have caused the app to become sluggish. I am using a Note 20 Ultra and it seems like the app lags or hangs up occasionally. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this app. Worth the money!

The best reddit browsers out there for Android. The app is very clean and easy to customize and navigate. It was built from scratch so it runs very fast as well. The developer also responds very quickly to address payment problems, bugs, and new features in r/redditsync. The free version is great as well without intrusive pop up ads (at least when I used it a year ago) but definitely worth considering no ads and supporting the developer.

Customization took half an hour to get this working like a dream. Full-height and full-width cards was my preference, and it took a little searching the Reddit pages to figure out how to achieve; but this app is slick. Subbing and Unsubbing can be found from the three-dots menu at the top right, and obtrusive floating buttons can easily be disabled. All this to say: great, customizable Reddit browser. Thank you!

Sync is a great Reddit client. Coming from the default app, Sync isn't broken and shows no ads. The customization is insane, and you can control everything from colours and fonts to how the content is viewed. I have noticed an increase in battery usage since I've downloaded Sync, but I think it may be another app that could be causing it as well. It would be unfair to take away points for that, but it's something to be mindful of.

Sync for reddit is absolutely my favourite Reddit client app. It’s fast, smooth, stable, frequently updated, and highly customizable. You can make your Reddit experience look and feel exactly how you like. I recommend getting the Pro version. It’s not expensive, gets rid of ads, and supports the amazing developers! Edit: I have to remove a star because I cannot see user flairs. Could the developers of Sync please add that option? That would be fantastic! Oh, and a way to crosspost!

This WAS a great app mostly. Bought the premium to remove ads and support the devs. Nowadays, you're lucky if a posts media loads on first tap, if at all. Have to just skip past some gigs or images after full minutes of waiting for nothing to happen. This should be addressed by the developer ASAP. Stability goes a long way towards better review stats.

This is a fantastic experience! I bought this on a whim was I was using the free version and I had the bug where posts wouldnt load. However, I enjoy this version so much more. No more ads, otherwise it seems about the same. Either way, I recommend Sync WELL ABOVE the standard reddit app. No stupid notifications from subs you dont browse, you can easily access all of your preferred content, and its an easy to navigate app! Well done, Sync team!

This is by far my favorite Android app for Reddit. It's highly customizable so no matter what Android phone you have, you can adjust the font and style to have full width cards (See the entire picture of a post), show a large list with a smaller picture, and others as well. I highly recommend the paid version, as the creators definitely deserve the support.

Great app, love the theme customizability & fun height cards! Smallest ding against it, and it might be my phone, but the swipe sensitivity is super high? Like I can't up vote posts or comments bc my phone keeps thinking I'm trying to swipe up or down, or out of a sub or a post. Ive got sensiticity set to minimum with no luck. Other than that fantastic app!

Best Reddit app out there. I've been using it for a few months and I never had any bugs. The controls are intuitive and the interface is simple. There is a lot of theme customization settings and data saving options. The app is also very fast. The official Reddit app is a complete joke compared to this.

Esp. O. Oct 2, 2020

Out of all the reddit apps I've tried in the past few years, this was by far my favorite and most reliable one. I always encountered problems with the official app and wouldn't last a month no matter how many time I tried it. Never encountered problems with Sync and love the way its formatted.

Wil. R. Jun 15, 2021

Great app although typical Reddit in that it is not so easy to find a sub unless you know EXACTLY what you are looking for. The swipe in from the left or right sides for context menus are not so intuitive as a new user - I actually had to Google "how to subscribe or follow in Sync" to figure it out. But overall one of the best apps out there.
