Don't kid yourself. This app is not easy to use. But it will work with almost any cloud or remote file connection you can throw at it. Personally, I use it to turn my phone into a mobile backup of important files, most of which are on my Synology NAS. I tried WebDAV and it works but it craps out on too many files and seems to redownload too much... SFTP seems to work better, even if technically slower... It seems like I'll have to play with it to figure out what works best.
Works well after fiddling a bit. It constantly redownloaded dozens of files that haven't changed since last sync until I played with the settings by trial and error. Documentation is virtually non-existent, but the developers are responsive to questions, and the myriad of settings, while daunting at first, give an unequaled amount of customization. I just wished the defaults worked better!
Thoroughly disappointed. This app gets great reviews, so it was in the top 3 on my trial list. Never got past setup. Seems you have to be a computer whiz to get past the profile folder select. I succeeded with drop box, but crashed and burned with the S8+'s SD Card. No idea how to write a path strings to it, no help facility to show me how...so guess it's GAME OVER! Dang it... was really hoping this thing could do the business!
Great app, tried a lot of similar apps, but this app is the easiest one. Once you have one profile setup correctly for what you want to do, if the other folders you want the same the clone feature will help, the a few changes and easy you have another profile. You can set schedule or run the sync manually. If you add a new file or edit a file on a folder it can be sync to the destination without overwriting all over again... has a smart file check.
of course i think there are excessive ads, like every time you want to create a profile. and thats a big deal because on my phone they disappear after i reboot the phone. looked like it had some nice features but going to try something else, update.. thought i would try it again and same problem - profiles disappear after a reboot. emailed the other day and so far no response.. good news, the ads work ;)
This is missing one really easy to implement feature. I don't see the ability to preserve date/time of the file when doing the copy. I often have to look at the file name on my server to determine when the picture was taken. Whenever it does synchronize copy, the file stamp of the file on my server is when the copy was done and NOT when the picture was taken. I'll bump to 5 star if you fix that.
Edit - it seems date modified works when it wants to with google drive, I don't think this is a fault of the app. Only request would be to add multiple copy operations, as this app does not seem to download or upload at line speed. Worked fine on my oneplus 7t pro, but does not work correctly on my galaxy z fold 2. It always thinks source and destination are different and therefore tries to copy unnecessary files. Dev, happy to send logs if need be.
What a great App was my first impression with all the connectivity and options. But after some first experience some disillusionment had overcome me: The major issue: - QNAP File Station create an error if you like to write back, read works great - The alternative WEBDAV stops with error: null. Other synch issue like copping files multiple time without change on the source. Waiting since mor than a year for an update. It makes the impression that the App is no longer maintained, supported.
Does exactly what i needed it to do. I have a local NAS and Nextcloud on my network that it backs up to regularly. No issues so far. The app complained that it cannot connect to my nextcloud server, but after trial and error i found out that it was because i didn't have a self signed certificate for https. Please keep up the good work devs, this is the best syncing app I've used so far.
I thought not reliable. Paid for after reading list of fixes but constantly fails before completing sync. I have written to App chaps and will update this if fixed. Update... Guys came straight back and are checking. In the meantime It seems the problem is NOT my files as Dropsync and Drivesync work fine both by another guy. I have asked for s refund if they can't fix it. I have no idea if the files are being corrupted during the sync or if the App has a reporting glitch. No refund!!
Dev response is nonsense... The app uses a temp directory in the internal disk. Cannot change the temp folder to an external disk. My internal disk is not enough. the only workaround is to have synctemp located inside "/storage/externaldisk/Android/data/com.ice..." Also it's still puzzling why this app has to copy the entire file from another folder to this temp folder before uploading it to the cloud. very inefficient implementation and I must look for an alternative at this point.
Update: MEGA works, yes!!!Such a useful app, having the ability to backup an online storage from OneDrive to your phone for offline backup...no more extra USBs to carry for me! However, MEGA doesn't seem to be working at the moment, but the developer is looking into the bug now. Kudos to them!
Pro: Works over FTP, remembers settings, syncs files and folders. Cons: SLOW compared to other ftp (8 hours to transfer something taking 1 hour over better ftp app) Leaves gigabytes of temp files, doesn't clean up after itself. Relaunches a copy of itself on every access, and so must be closed a few dozen times to exit the app.
Can't get scheduled sync (power efficient) mode to work.It appears that the process never launches. As soon as I access the app however it then syncs ok.Pity cause I don't want to leave the process running in the background so this app is of no use to me. Got this working for a while by setting manual battery optimization but it's back failing again after a recent update.
Not working with MEGA as it has no support for 2FA, happy to change rating when fixed. Nextcloud also is broken, remote to local seams to work, but local to remote always sends files, every time I run sync all files are uploaded, even though they are already on the server. And both ways started to sync different folders than selected. Its a mess.
No updates since over a year, does not respond to support requests. Android 11 "android/data" folder issue still not fixed (folder can't be accessed by the app) Great app, but after paying the full license, disappointed by the support/lack of updates. i dont mind not getting a response to my email but can you fix the issue? Will gladly award 5 stars as the app is otherwise great. Thx 2021-06 update: still nothing, no upgrade or support for "Android/Data" folder.
Any way to add a delay to a trigger? I have power on for when it's connected to the charger, but it often fails because wi-fi often sleeps and takes a bit of time to wake up once connected to power. Btw. The contact link in the app doesn't work, otherwise I would have used that.
Constantly has errors during scheduled sync. I wake up most mornings with an error message vs a successful sync message. Everything has been setup correctly and will work if manually synced. However the entire point is automation so I need to look elsewhere.
reinstalling it causes app to loose sd permissions and i cant find where to reset them.. As of December 3rd the app is now telling me I need to pay to remove ads. Which would be fine but the link and play store don't actually work so it keeps just reminding me and I can't do anything about it.
I already rated you five stars. Stop hassling me about rating! If you use NextCloud, you use this tip sync folders on your phone. If you want to sync multiple folders, you pay for the app. It doesn't cost much, and well worth it to own your own data.
Synchronize Ultimate syncs my Google drive and one drive shares without any issues but I recently got cloud storage on idrive and setting up a profile and sync doesn't seem to work. Unfortunately multiple calls to the support team have been unanswered. Great app but the icing on the cake would be if we can get idrive to work.
Best app of its kind that I have found. Currently using it to connect to my Nextcloud account and it works very well. Plenty of options such as being able to exclude/include files and folders, so that you can tailor the app to your specific needs. Highly recommend!
OnePlus 6T - My objective is to mirror any change I make **from** a SMB folder called Pictures and its Subfolders (Win 10) for my jpeg and mp4 files **to** the local memory on my 6T called “from MSI”. This app does not do that very well. more details coming soon. So far “Folder Sync” is working best !
Couldn't connect to my Amazon Drive cloud storage; failed with "Error: the verification code seems empty. Please try again later." [There is nowhere to enter a verification code, only your AD account name.] Successfully authorized/connected to my Dropbox account...then failed each attempt to actually access it. Uninstalled.
(( Very important )) Dear Devs, sorry for my English, this app is awesome But [[One important feature is unbelievably missing here]]. When we sync 2 folder, for example my programs folder at internal storage (Source), and the same my programs folder on USB OTG (Destination), the destination folder must convert to mirror of the source folder. I mean we need an option to delete automatically old files on ((Destination)) folder after sync. Not ((Source)) Folder. Just like Goodsynce.exe for windows.
It seems that "Delete files from source after sync" option doesn't work for the files that have already been synced, which is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, the app works fine for me.
Great product, full of cool automation features. Has a few little glitches like starting profiles that are flagged as "don't start from start all" and the context menus are a bit touchy, takes multiple attempts to open them.
I have tried and bought a number of file sync apps over the last year to sync with my NAS and cloud providers. After using this for a few months, I have removed the others and intend using just this app. It does everything I could possibly want and works fine across all my devices. - Highly recommended.
