I LOVE this app. Unfortunately, the developer has not updated to use SMBv2. In fact, the app store listing says it hasn't been updated in years. This means up-to-date windows 10 machines will not allow the connection. I must either enable the insecure SMBv1, or find another solution. If you have a secure network and this is not a machine that travels to other networks, you can enable SMBv1 in the "Add Remove Windows Features" area of windows.
Great idea for an app but... the most important feature is lacking: Windows 10 support is non existent and enabling SMBv1 is not recommended for the average user. The sync process is extremely slow (600KB/s max). There are a lot of failed transfers and retransmissions as well. I wanted to recommend it to regular users, but after checking it out, I'm sad to say it's not useful enough. If the above features will be improved I'll be sure to recommend it!
Used to be a great app, and it worked flawlessly. So useful that I upgraded to the paid version just to show my appreciation. But now, however, it can only access internal data files and doesn't recognize the microSD card (where most of the data is stored). App hasn't been updated in years and appears abandoned. Almost useless now. Too bad.
Once it is set up, it is very helpful. I am using it to quickly transfer videos to edit on-set. I set up a 2nd camera app and every video transfers almost instantly. Note when setting up, you need to use your Microsoft password, not your computer pin. Also use your name at c/users/NAME, not your computer name. It's great once it's set up. Thanks!
Great app. I have kind of weird problem. When I choose a folder from SD card as a device folder, I get this error message while running the sync: "Failed to rename file from /Storage/9C33-6BGG/1400/AbaqusGUIProblem.JPG_(!).(!)_tmp to /Storage/9C33-6BGG/1400/AbaqusGUIProblem.JPG But by choose device folder from phone storage, sync runs with no problem. I would be grateful if the support team help to solve this problem. Thanks
I have 9000+pic & video files and 30,000+ MP3 files collected over 25 years and keep a copy on both my Laptop and Phone. (~260GB of data) This app allows me to keep phone and PC in sync when on same wireless network, update in both directions and schedule each folder sync period. Yess... ok... maybe I *should* use a cloud backup service, but few services offer 260GB of free data, and I also need to be able to access my data when offline. This is the single most useful app I have found in over 15 years of Android phone usage.
Paid for the app. Works well when it does (rarely) 1) App renames files n fails. Should be a straight sync and copy job?? 2) Couldn’t find file at destination. ??? 3) It stops the entire backup process if one file fails. This is extremely annoying! I suggested that the entire job be completed and that the erroneous files be skipped and then you can have error report with skipped files, thereby requiring less user intervention Developer insists that’s not a good idea and is not receptive to ideas
An otherwise great sync app that I use on my phone and chromebook and android tv. The only problem is that on my android tv, the menu button won't show so I can't access the settings to enable the use of ethernet. I've tried contacting the developer of this app but he refuses to do anything about it :/ the menu button on the remote control works for every other app but not this one.
App works as claimed and does well with NAS, but you need to have some knowledge of both Android file and PC file structure. In other words, its not for every user. No easy setup or wizard for most users. For example in my LG Android phone the internal memory is called sdcard and to get to the actual extra micro sd card it going through a folder called Storage and then finding an obscure 8 char name. this was confusing. Maybe some day the developer (who does answer emails) can add a wizard. I do recommend the in app purchase for the xtra features. If it wasn't so much trial and error it would be 5 stars.
I used SyncMe for years with no complaints. It automatically synced the photos on all of our phones to our home file server nightly. It worked until I upgraded my Samba server, which no longer supports SMB version 1 (which is old and insecure). For those on Windows 10, it probably won't work anymore. Please implement SMB3! Until then, I'll have to find another solution.
Great App, but having issues at the moment. It was working, but now has errors of the form "Failed to rename file (blah blah blah).mp3_(!).(!)_tmp to (blah blah blah).mp3". File name is well less than maximum length, and first failure stops the whole process instead of just ignoring the one file.
Saved my behind! This app recently saved me. I dropped my phone and could no longer get into it, however this app made transferring files to my new phone a breeze and meant I had a valid backup from the old phone. All files were correctly backed up, and most importantly, the date stamps were preserved. Samsung app not only changed the date stamps but randomly did not backup Maddie files including some videos. It does need help English translation and instructions which are confusing at times.
Excellent app without any issues. I have tried at least 4 other apps with issues like missed syncs, failure to connect, unknown file errors but believe me this is by far the best sync app I have experienced. I sync files between my NAS connected to my router and wanted to free my android from large video and pics taken by camera and in my WhatsApp folder. I would have given it 10 stars out of 5 :) Excellent job Devs!!
I tried about 5 popular sync apps and this was the only one that could correctly perform a two-way sync with my computer in my use case. Unlike some other apps, the free version is featured enough to actually be useful, and I was happy to pay for the full version. Thanks!
Autor great job ever app for sync wifi. Only a glitch with sdcard on android 11. Only give permission to sdcard on setting, them create a new sync folder, anf there is the trick for the device folder use the menu option goto and write the patch to sd and it is done. Enjoy...
Excellent and very simple solution to backing up your phone to your local network. Make sure to enable SMB1 if you are using Windows 10 on your local PC. Totally customize what folders on your phone you want to backup. Unlike a lot of the personal cloud solutions available, SyncMe supports externl storage (SDCard).
The App work nicely. But I can't figure out on how to set it automatically sync to PC without schedule (like Resilio Sync) and without manually tap RUN. After Windows update, it doesn't work anymore. After add computer and click OK, it always show "connection reset"
Damn thing keeps deleting my files >:( I had to move the folders I was syncing from one drive to another and then I reconfigured the file sync to use the new folders but when I hit sync, it deleted them >:(
When i tried to sync a folder it says; Computer error: insufficient server resources. The technique this software uses is too old and harmful so that windows 10 doesn't allow it to sync any folder Don't waste your time by downloading this app. Try to find any other latest app .If you are using windows 10 latest version then there is an update in it to sync a folder with any android device ..
Worked great until Android Update No longer has new access to SD Card. Tasks with SD card file access can not be modified now. Have the paid version, worthless now. Has a nice network access interface though. Galaxy S10 with Android 11 with Update 32 October 21. This update was not voluntary. Selecting the virtual SD Card instead of the real path get an error "Selected path is not the root of the sd card:
Paid user for years because this has been an excellent way to sync my photos everyday. However, this only supports SMBv1 which Microsoft has disabled in Win10 (by default in recent updates) because it is insecure (search for WannaCry). This app really needs to be updated to support SMBv2 or v3.
Works perfectly as expected. Nice simple UI and lightweight. 1st time it not connected to my PC then I asked from the developer with some screenshots, then he quickly replied and tell me "Enable smb1 protocol on your pc". It worked after that. I appreciate the developer support also. Thank you for developing such a great app and the support
Use to love this App but no update in years. Now with Windows 10 and SMBv1 support it's kind of a pain now. Have to enable it on the system you sync to. Have enabled it three times now and Win10 no longer supports it. I will update my review when they update and fix this issue. Email reply from the developer said he plans on updating it. No time frame given.
This is a reliable, versatile and fast-running app which does exactly what it promises. One feature that would make it a lot more useful for me is an additional filter, to transfer only files created since the last successful sync. In my case I want to edit the photos transferred from my smartphone, moving the best and deleting the duds till all have been processed and the target folder is empty. I don't want it repopulated at the next sync with older photos I have already dealt with!
