Is...1/2 a star too much?
I was really expecting more. I dont know If it doesn't work on earlier versions of android or what, but what it displays on my tablet running Android 7.0 is NOT what is displayed on my LG K7 running an earlier version. the one on the phone is a jumbled up mess. I just wanted two sms decent sms apps that would sync together i could use on both phone and tablet. havn't found one yet.
It's improving with each release. One thing that would make it stand out is to recognize an ad-hoc WiFi or Bluetooth connection between the tablet and phone and avoid the cloud completely. This is especially important when there is only a cellular connection (for texting), but no mobile data connection. Even if it meant the DOLPHIN KING had to partner with one of the tethering app developers.
I used to use this app and I really liked it. At the time, it was the only tablet texting solution that used a cloud option to sync messages, which meant you didn't have to be in the same building or network as your phone. It did have minor issues and it's interface wasn't the prettiest, but it was good. Today, I use MightyText, which has the same advantages but works better and looks nicer.
I just wasted my money. It's not what I think it is. This app is misleading. The description does not say that it will not sync all your SMS across your phone-enabled tablet and your phone. And it does not mention that it wont actually use the stock SMS app of your phone-enabled tablet because it uses its own messaging app. Misleading description plus no trial version equals waste of money! That amount of money is equivalent to three happy big meals here n my country. What a waste!
I use Tablet Talk and am moving totally away from that good product because of one very big difference. SyncSMS can handle multiple devices. So only one phone is needed, but multiple Android (mostly WIFI only) devices can use that phone's SMS service. You can make adjustments to the check status timing. And many other good features.
I decided to try this after reading the whole 105 page thread on xda. The developer is really committed to this, and once push notifications were set up this is as seamless as using a native built in SMS program. Very nice job and well worth the small fee. The setup procedure is somewhat complicated but not overly difficult so I won't take a star off for that. It is all open source too, so there is a little confidence that comes from that. I am using it on my Nexus 7 and a huawei u8800
Synced my texts between my Xperia Tablet Z and HTC One perfectly, exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Now I can leave my phone on my bedroom nightstand and send/receive texts from my tablet. It seemed redundant to be using a tablet like this and still need to keep my phone on me while at home. Terrific.
It mostly works. It won't deliver messages if they are part of a group message. Occasionally, if messages are sent in quick succession, the first message is missed. On my Verizon phone, I keep getting a message from 6250, almost like a pinging message. No info, just an annoying notification. It is promising but still a beta product imo.
Dev stopped working on app. I paid for it when it first came out. Dropbox changed their permissions. They contacted dev to update and they never did.
Having moved from Verizon, I was used to being able to TXT from my tablet at home, while using my phone while out. I am no longer with vzw however, with this app, I have the same functionality!
Text messages were the main reason I was tethered to my phone. So much more convenient to have this function on the tablet.
It falls down when it shouldn't. It can't sync with no network. Fine. But it doesn't always catch up when network is available, even after several hours.
Works for my needs. Can receive and send sms from my 2nd android work phone. And letsvme know if i have a missed call
This is a great app. Works exactly as described. I was impressed that when I changed to a SIM with a different number, the app worked seamlessly with the new SIM without needing any action on my part.
Does what it says. Let's me text with my tablet, I have that with more when I'm home than my phone anyway.
I use this every day. It syncs my phone with my tablet and allows be to stay connected without checking two devices!
Works as advertised. I like that it also sends a notification to my tablet when I miss a phone call.
When i got this i thought it was pretty cool, but once i started using it i noticed that some of the messages are cut of from what the original message came. Also, the interface could be slot nicer then the plain black or white. Otherwise this app should be worth $1
I have a 4.0 wifi tablet and it works well. You have to make sure that the clocks are in sync on the phone and the tablet and run the app on both devices with a Dropbox account, the free one is fine. No problems so far.
Unlimited texting and 100% free and no ads. It's the best app that does this that I've found
It's. Very good it was hard to find one of these types of apps that worked to pair 2 phones. Not only tablets
Really loves this, is the perfect solution I found for messaging from my tablet. Never had any issue sending messages. Love it!
I just picked up this app after reading about it on an Android Central forum. So far so great!
Just Add emoji/emoticons and ability to send images and we have a win!
App works as advertised for the most part. Would have given 5 stars but sometimes not all messages in the conversation are uploaded to tablet. Only the messages I send are uploaded sometimes.
Doesn't let you sync from phone to phone, otherwise its a good app. Drains the battery of both my phone and my tablet pretty fast even in standby.
This app works really well on my nexus 7, means I can access my texts where ever I am!! XD
Great job! Thank you very much!
