great app but it would be even much better if it would work on my tablet I have a message GPS fix in progress and it never finish, however on my phone works great excluding the rectile view it freeze after a few moments and have to tap change rectile button and no info how to use it, little help system would be good for starters. It would be nice to have a possibility to automatically set parameters in the SynScan device instead of manual coping.
On closing and reopening the app, the interface is pushed to the top left of my screen, with the text all garbled. Force stop does not fix the issue. Uninstall and reinstall doesn't solve the problem. I have to reboot my device every time I need to open this app for this UI issue to be fixed. Android 8.0.0 on OnePlus Three.
Excellent app for giving you the right information to type in to your synscan handset - in the RIGHT FORMAT! (I kept forgetting to put the date in US format). Occasionally the screen gets a little screwy, but sorts itself out with a close and open. The polar alignment display is also very useful.
Great app, seems to work well. It is the only app I can find that has the new skywatcher reticle. The only negative is battery drain. The app continually uses gps which drains the battery if left to run in the background.
All the data is displayed that I need to enter into the Synscan for my HEQ5 in the correct format and order. It's just so quick and easy to setup and polar align using this app - I wouldn't be without it.
I own and opperate both an Astronomy Association and a Astronomy Nonprofit in AZ. Star parties is a main program every month, and I have been looking and asking everywhere for an application or program that helps me QUICKLY set up my 6 go-to telescopes while people wait for me in the evening. This app allows me to set up and allign every make and model go-to scope I have, making for an easy, quick alignment. Such a blessing! Rename this app "Telescope setup" Not just for skyscan. This ap rocks!
This works great for me. It does exactly what I need with a very friendly user interface. It doesn't try to things I don't need. So may other authors get bogged down with feature creep. This has none of that. It just works. 10 out of 10.
Great app and customer care. Had a problem saying GPS was off when I had switched it on, emailed received a reply try a GPS tester that did not work either so checked settings and my GPS was on saving battery mode changed that all working.
Why does the gmt says -5 when I am in south Florida and my gmt is -4. And it is in the middle of July. Is my knowledge of how time zones work is lacking or is this a bug. Also I when I go to Polaris view the circle does not move it just stay pointing in one direction. I guess that's what it means when it says this app is made for older phones
Amazing app highly recommended. Though for beginner's a labeled diagram of what the marks are for/mean would be a good feature.
Was excellent! But not connecting since last android update on galaxy note 10. Circle just goes round. Please fix as this is so useful.
Would be much better if you can zoom In to make the reticle bigger. On android this doesn't seem possible.
Excellent app with wifi adapter, far easier than the SynScan handset.
I do not know what I would do without this app. It is excellent and never fails. Please never stop making it available!
App no longer works This was my go to app for polar alignment and setting up my eq mount.

I think the UTC for Canberra may be wrong. As we are in daylight savings shouldn't the UTC be +11.00 hours?

Can you guys make it so you can refresh it. Currently you have to actually exit and close the app to get an updated reading.

I'm not sure if this is caused by Android 8 as the system claims this app is designed for an older version, but this app won't work. The spinning circle spins forever and the GPS coordinates never appear (I let it sit for about 10mn and tried with various settings). Edit - Using GPStest there was indeed a connection problem, so my rating was unfair. Marco, may I suggest adding a "Use last saved position" option when the GPS can't connect? Or maybe an option to add the coordinates manually?
