Awful interface, no way to sign up, and it only tells you most sound packs are paid after you go to the website to create an account and then login inside the app. Very stupid, as the marketing inside the Catan box didn't stated it was paid. I already paid for the game, gosh! If the purchase was in-app at least, but not even that. You get to pay for it on the website... Why not keep everything in the same place??
Terrible experience. Get with the times guys, the interface is shocking and next to impossible to navigate. The fact that you charge money for soundsets is shocking. Pick up your game!
You pay over $40 for a game... they put a card in your box that takes you on painstaking adventure to register just to finally pay for sounds that no one actually wants bad enough to pay for. Do yourself a favor and make your own sounds it makes the game more interesting brings the kid out in you and its free 😀
I downloaded this after reading a leaflet in the Catan board game, stating that it is free to download and sounds are free. Then you ask me to pay for sounds? misleading. and please don't tell me I misunderstood or got confused, I can read just fine, and everyone here read it very well and gave you 1 star because you deserve it. Shame on you Oh and the app design is horrible.
I installed this app because of the card which came with the board game. I then had to register. Then the app said I had to pay for the sound set. Uninstalled for wasting my time.
Really badly designed app. Cannot even pull the side menu out without closing the app with gestures.

Awful. Waste of time. Advertises as free sound effects for Catan. There are not. Downloaded to see if the reviews were true. They are. Avoid.
The app is free... sounds aren't. And it's obviously useless without the sounds. Works or but I'm not paying for the soundtrack and sound effects to play along with a board game.
It might be great. I just dislike this statement on the card in the game: "it's free to download, with free sounds..." it is free to download - but it does nothing, without having to pay, so I can't agree there is 'free sounds'. And the cost of a fiver, is a lot for a companion app, would be better it was 99p say.

Plays background music and sound effects. Check out demo first to see if you want it. Unsure if i will use with the game but a bit of fun anyway. Controls are a little clunky and interface very simple. The support team is helpful if you have queations send them a email they respond quickly.
This is word for word what the pamphlet says in the board game "It's free to download, with free sounds to enhance your board game play" so clearly I expected to pay for this piece of rubbish. Thanks for ruining my week
Can't pay for sets with Google play credits... It's also not really designed well for Android standards.
I'm trying to enjoy the app but I need to log in to download other background music. But, I can't log in since I still need to sign up. Will anyone please tell me where? I'm new to this app. I grately appreciate it.
You know what? This was actually pretty fun. It adds just enough texture to take some of the tension of of the game, and we get a good giggle out of the robber every time. When we've played with kids, they get a kick out of designing their own soundscape. Wasn't super happy about paying (having just forked out way to much for the game itself) but gave it a whirl because I like what I've seen of the syrinscape concept in the past. Can't play the game without it now.
Huge waste of your time. Don't bother. Trust the many, many negative reviews. Only positive ones are likely from people who absolutely LOVE Catan, and would pay any price for Catan related stuff.
Definitely see what they meant about extortion, it should say on the flyer in the game box that there are fees, even if you don't want to say how much, so you can gouge more out of people later.
I love my SuperSyrin membership! If I ever decide to cancel, I'll get to keep a bunch of sounds. I can use all three versions of Syrinscape for a multitude of purposes! If we had motivation to do Halloween, the sounds make great special effects!
I don't know what this is, i just heard about it from an insert in my Catan game... and you want me to create a new login and pay 5$ for it before I try?
This is just shameful! I was so excited to see the ad for this when I opened the game box and especially when it was free. Don't say free and then make people pay and sign up for a piece of crap. Shame on you!
Took ages to sign up and then had to pay for the content - not as advertised!
I use the Syrinscape Fantasy and Sci-Fi Players for my other games but I'm a board gamer so thought I'd check this out. The sci-fi one has been good for board games too tbh, I just wanted to give this a go, I thought I might as well seeing as it was included in the price. I have a subscription already so all of the sounds were already included, I just needed to install them in the player which didn't take long at all. As with the other players, I find them easier to use in landscape for easier access to the menus. It's much easier to use on my laptop but I like having it on my phone to take to board game cafes or when I go to friends houses. Their customer support team are really friendly and helpful if you have any teething problems.
