Always crashes, never works to control the devices, can't name devices, it has a lot of growing up to do and needs to catch up with the time. The wifi itself works fine, but the app sucks. Oh, and if you're not connected to your home wifi, you can't use the app; therefore, if you're away, you can't turn off, change or control your kid's wifi use. Though I changed from xfinity because of their fees and costs, their app at least worked and worked well.

This app is just not stable. During setup of the device and even resetting it, going through the process the app often doesn't recognize the device and everything has to be done manually. It sorta works, sorta doesn't. It needs a lot of improvement, and this is sad coming from a large company like T-Mobile. I'd expect this quality of app and interface from a lesser mobile/internet carrier.

This app is garbage. Which is sad, because I actually love the service. The app continue to suck until the following features are added 1. The ability to change the name of a device on the network so you can easily recognize it. 2. The ability to connect to my router remotely. After all the router is connected to the internet so why can't I connect to it without being on the Wi-Fi network. 3. The ability to remember devices so that I can edit settings even when that device is offline.

Borderline useless, hardly ever works without prompting me to restart the app at least 40 times (this is NOT an exaggeration), can't connect or change settings unless connected to the WiFi network and as far as I'm concerned won't change anytime soon. Based on this app alone I wouldn't recommend T-Mobile to anyone I know in good faith.

After installing the app a couple of months ago, I am experiencing some of the same issues others are reporting. My internet comes and goes, 5G isn't stable and my devices are continually giving me errors or freezing up. Very disappointing! My original experience was much improved processing speeds and now it's more problematic than my former subscription. T-mobile, do better.

App doesn't work after a couple months. I seen the other reviews saying this app doesn't work after a while and I couldn't believe it because it worked perfect for me. But now after a few months it just doesn't work. Everytime I try to see connected devices or anything it says "uh oh you were disconnect, restart app" EVERY TIME. I've deleted and reinstalled so many times I've lost count. I disconnected one device and wasn't able to reconnect it for 3 days, unfortunately it was my living room tv.

The best feature is the ability see connected devices and have the option to disconnect certain devices as needed. For several weeks this feature crashes everytime. Thankfully I finally was able to get in a reconnect a device, but now I can't access that feature again.

Let's start off by stating that—even after five or six attempts to get my gateway properly setup and running—my one-star review isn't for the T-Mobile Internet service as a whole, but for the app itself. Again, my connection disconnected five or six times, and I had to factory reset each time. After that, my connection is up and running at download speeds of 500+Mbps. Despite this, this app states my gateway has not been setup yet, and continuously prompts me to "setup a new connection"...

The app is fine... It does what it's suppose to do for all intended purposes. However, the service works but it's going to be hit or miss .. you're either going to be in the thick of signal and get great speeds, for others, like myself on the fringe you may get maybe 100Mbps down without modifications, you're upload speed will be low. It'll work just not as well as it could. I thought about adding an external antenna but between cost and functionality is it worth it?

Chr. J. Feb 8, 2022

Update! Talked to their IT department, apparently since the hardware and software would not function properly, they suggested a factory reset. When the reset failed to activate, they suggested plugging it into another outlet to see if that would fix the reset button... The app is not functional. The app will not connect to the hardware, which appears to be the entire purpose of the app as there is no other functionality. The T Mobile hardware is extremely cheap and not functional.

This has to be the absolute worst internet/wifi app interface I've ever been forced to use. You CAN'T pay the bill (after shutoff), or troubleshoot an outage, you CAN'T do either of those things because you HAVE to be connected to Wifi via THAT hotspot ONLY. So, if you have any problems you can expect some long phone calls with customer support, although, they have all been very pleasant to speak to so far, both stars are for that alone.

The app is pretty much useless once the device is setup. There's no way to access it outside the network. Going to the IP address grants more settings option, but is still incomplete. There isn't any way to change the IP scheme, DNS, DHCP, MAC address filtering. Every other wifi router has Advance settings. Once I can put my own equipment behind the gateway and not double NAT on the way out, I'll give it 5 ☆. Also, the needs to be able to reach the gateway outside the network.

App flat doesn't work. Everything I open it I can't get past the "Your home network isn't connected", even though it is. I was suckered twice and went through the setup and each time I had to reconnect all my devices -- and STILL the app thought I wasn't connected. It's mind boggling to think that a company as large as T Mobile can't make an app. So anyway, their Internet speeds in my area frequently slows to less than 2 megabits on downloads. Sure they're $50/mon but that's not inexpensive if

Few hiccups on initial set up. Vital information like entering an admin password which is located on the device isn't disclosed to you until you get hung up on that part and have to dig for more info in order to proceed. The set up process also kept stating that it couldn't connect or detect the T-Mobile network. Took me 3 or 4 tries to finally finish up. Now comes more fun to see if I can connect and use my Ooma VOIP and wireless camera home base to the Ethernet ports on the Tmo device. Yay.

Serious basic improvements needed. You can't custom name connected devices. This so basic nearly all other router have this ability, but not T-Mobile's. We have numerous devices but have no idea which are which because of this serious shortcoming. UGH! Oh yeah, and it needs a browser interface too, not just a phone app. Double UGH!

Joh. W. Mar 8, 2022

Keep getting uh-oh, the app lost connection with the gateway. We'll need to get you reconnected. It only happens every time you click on the device tab. I've reset the internet and deleted and reinstalled the app, and it's still doing it. Internet speeds have dropped off the past few months also.

Kei. H. Jan 26, 2022

It's surprisingly good so far. I'm consistently getting 300+Mbps and sometimes almost 600Mbps down. Yee ha! The app is very simple, but does all the critical things. I would like to be able to name devices that only show a MAC address and to have access when away from the network. I love the details showing LTE and 5G connections. They tell you what bands you are connected to, but I'd also like to see a tower ID for the 5G. Reliability is TBD. That will be the most important thing.

Dan. T. Mar 20, 2022

The app seems easy, but restarted steps halfway through. It can't find my address, so tower viewer feature doesn't work. The app is just so so. Worse, the internet service is unpredictable speeds ranging from 2.85 mbs to 115 mbs. Great when performing, terrible when not. No consistency. All in, I think my current, mediocre CenturyLink DSL is better at a very consistent 46 mbs. I will replace CenturyLink at the first chance for something better...but I don't think T-Mobile 5g is better, sadly.

Mos. G. May 26, 2022

This app is really bad...I can do basically nothing that I want, change the wifi password, name, manage the devices (this last one, only if I'm connected to the wifi and if the device is on, so NO remote) I can't see how much I have used, etc etc etc, hey but this is the app...the service, I really love it, I hope don't change in the future...BUT YES, THIS APP NEEDS UPDATES

Mai. A. Feb 26, 2022

The app can work ok - when it works. Some days it won't let me access the devices on my network at all, telling me my app has lost contact with the gateway repeatedly. Rebooting the app or phone doesn't help. The internet can be so-so. Really depends on the day. Everything about this is hit or miss, but it's the best I can get in my small rural town.

Tod. M. Mar 4, 2022

App will show a good connection even when there is no internet. We are happy with the internet itself, but the apps erroneous status is frustrating and BS with the usual customer support response, "I see we are upgrading your towers". They have been "upgrading" the same same tower since 2021, yeah right. Back to the app, even with the new update still says I am connected to the internet when I am not. The new tower finder is also non-existent in the menus. App still sucks, and CS is clueless.

Tmobile home internet It's not quite ready for prime time for dependability. Have to reboot device often. Don't cut your cord yet. When up is fast, but has sudden drops in service that are very annoying. Designed for beginner internet users out of box. This app it's main purpose is initially to set up the device. You'll use 192.168.12.1 most to reboot it often! Long periods of no pings. App is fine, service is bad. Update 4/22 has since been very dependable, expect growing pains early on

Ben. S. Jan 22, 2022

While it does know it's connected to the T-Mobil network, it won't acknowledge when it's getting 0-4 Mbps (which happens way to often). Also you can't factory reset from the app. I've had to reset a ton troubleshooting T-Mobiles poor network integrity. Finally it need an internal support chat / ticketing system. I'm getting tired of waiting on the phone while someone verified my I'd and looks up the service status of my tower.

In terms of managing a router, this app sucks. Device control is very limited. There is no QoS which sucks when bandwidth is very limited in a rural area. Network management has no advanced features in the app. Unlike other modern routers, you have to be on the same network to manage. Can't even use my own DNS servers (traffic is actually blocked to other DNS providers). I get SSL errors all the time. There is so much room for improvement it's not even funny.

Well. My internet box finally arrived but the password for administrator on the back of unit on tag will not link up or except the password. Witch is being entered correctly. Now I get to sit and wait 30 min for a call back from t-mobile. Witch will probably happen while I'm Shaving . So the app does not work . At all. Definitely putting in correct password.

When I first got it it worked well despite my only being able to get 2 bars aka a weak signal. But the last two days have been horrible......continuous buffering and shows stopping completely. Yes it looks like I will be sending this back!!! I wanted so much for it to work but it's horrible.

A. W. Mar 4, 2022

Very happy with the home internet, much better than most providers around who over charge for there service. Still unable to access devices section even after this update so update was useless cause I want to be able to control my devices. When I first got it everything worked great. I've called several times on this issue but still unresolved. I have one laptop on schedule and can't change it so frustrating when it is needed for my job. I have seen several people complain about this issue 🙄

It took a while for me to finally get the router. My local TMobile store was about to close and the guy working had no problem sticking around to get me set up. Super fast and easy set up and it works great. Even works great for gaming. My brother uses a terabyte of data or more gaming every month and never has issues.

Joe. J. May 23, 2022

Same BS, different flavor. They charged me $5/month in hidden fees (that they claim to eliminate) because I'm on a grandfathered cellular plan. Literally a worse deal than a new customer. Then they offered "first month on us" but you have to keep it 8 weeks to get the rebate. Both buried in fine print. Don't believe the hype or the claimed speeds. Speed test shows poor speeds. Signal varies between 2-3 bars max. Use this for leverage to get a better rate from your local cable or fiber provider.

No. N. May 24, 2022

Despite having an "Excellent" signal, it constantly crashes and I have to unplug the gateway to reset it. According to Customer Service, I have to go to a TMobile store to get a new one. Forget it. Moving on to a regular internet. I can't have internet that crashes like this.
