T-Mobile Visual Voicemail

Last sync was 5/16/2022. Now when I try to manually sync, it says there are connection issues, to manually sync, or try again later. That's all I do, is try again later. Nothing. I have never had any issues for the years I have been with T-Mobile. I'm afraid to uninstall and then reinstall because I don't want to lose my messages I have saved in it. Please, send an update to fix. The last update was 2021, that's a little ridiculous seeing as how every other app I have is like every day!

I don't know why T-Mobile is not able to demand from their software engineers to fix their Visual Voicemail app. It stopped syncing two weeks ago. I called customer service several times, and after several unsuccessful restarts, uninstalls, and installs, the rep told me that they had to write a ticket to their tech guys. Nothing happened. How difficult can it be for an experienced software engineer to find the bug and fix it? Apparently the bug was introduced when the app stopped syncing.

It doesn't work. Doesn't sync. I keep missing voicemails because they don't show up in the app. Have to call for voicemails like it was 2010 just to see if I have any in fear of missing something important because this app has zero liability. Sprint's visual voicemail was so much better. Never had any problems with it. If forced to change to T-Mobile by default and if Sprint and T-Mobile has merged, why do we have subpart T-Mobile apps and not better versions provided by Sprint?

This voicemail app does not seem to perform its most basic function. I just had to uninstall and reinstall the app because it wasn't syncing properly and I found out that I had five voicemail messages for the last two months that I had never seen. This is pretty much a deal breaker as far as a phone carrier goes. I'm going to start shopping for a competent carrier

Absolute garage. Since day one of switching my Sim card I havent been able to get past the "welcome to visual voicemail...we are activating your account..." and then I get another message saying it has to verify me. I agree with other people that it is inconvenient when you are trying to catch the information given in the voicemail and I can't pause it or rewind it without having to replay the whole message 15 times. Completely useless.

It mostly works to sometimes receive voicemail. No vm transcribed to text.I don't always get my voicemail. Some people have left voicemail messages for me that I NEVER received. And, the phone keypad is NOT installed in the app. Twice I've needed to press a number on the KEYPAD. This has caused problems and I've had to add spend time finding another solution. T-mobile, you need to add the keypad to the voicemail app. Other carriers have it. Never had these problems with Sprint. STILL NO KEYPAD!!

App worked great for the first few months. Honestly, it was the best I'd ever used. Then it suddenly stopped syncing. 2 phone calls to customer service got the app to sync... those 2 times. Will not sync despite manually refreshing, deleting and reinstalling app, downgrading and then upgrading the payment plan, or clearing all app data.

Edit on 3/2/2022: It was working fine until about 1 month ago. Npw it takes forever to show that I have a voicemail, and is using up all my battery to sync constantly, and it's syncing for nothing! I am removing it again! Edit on 10/10/19: nope, not working again! It's doing what it used to do, not sync messages forever, tell me it an error message saying it can't access the server, etc... It's been a long time of frustration, (ever since April, 2019)!

Messages never sync automatically, basically useless if I have to keep manually syncing. The try back later message is always popping up. This has been occurring for a at least a few years. I wish there was an alternative. On top of allnyhe negatives you can't play messages if the ringer is off or on vibrate.

This app is mostly useless and should only be optional, not mandatory for visual voicemail. It only works for a short time after installing or resetting. The phone needs to be restarted or the app reset to get voicemail. When I had an unlocked non-t-mobile phone that had visual voicemail in the Google phone app, it worked perfectly. This app has been like this for years!

I think this is the worst performing app I've ever seen. It works for a while, and then it stops working. For a long time. As in months. Then it starts working again, and you think oh good, they finally fixed it. But then it stops working again. For months. Either voicemail is an order of magnitude harder than anyone ever expected (and yet somehow all the other cell phone vendors figured it out) or TMobile hired some breathtakingly incompetent developers. I suspect the latter.

I am told to call customer service, since the app doesn't work. But I cannot find the phone number for customer service anywhere. Wouldn't help if I did, because the reason I need Visual Voicemail is because I can't hear well and would have trouble communicating with Customer Service. I thought this app would be the same as Sprint's Visual Voice-mail, but apparently it is junk. Seems as though T-Mobile has nothing as good as Sprint.

I'd give it '0' star if I could. The app randomly stopped syncing with new messages I knew were in there. The feedback on tmobile site suggested reinstalling the app. I did that and lost all of my old saved voicemails. Can't get back voice messages from deceased loved ones. App devs need to be much clearer with what they are doing with the data behind the scenes when [re]installing, at the very least, if not creating default choice achitecture the proactively walks you through decision points.

The app will not sync at all. It does not show all my voicemails. I wish we would have been able to keep the Sprint Voicemail app when we switched over to T-Mobile. That app always worked and I never had any problems with it. I've had Visual Voicemail for about 3 weeks now and it's only worked on the first day.

Not working correctly. Has not synced since 3/11. It keeps saying "We are experiencing temporary connection issues, please manually refresh your inbox or try again later." It doesn't make a difference if I'm running Wi-Fi or 5g. I had Sprint visual Voicemail and it was fantastic, never had an issue. This is totally unreliable. I have 2 more TMobile phones that haven't been able to access it since day 1 . Says "we detected a new Sim card..." Brought those phones to the store,not helpful. FIX IT!

Absolute GARBAGE. The app doesn't refresh anymore. When I try to sync it, it "syncs" for about 5 mins and says app last synced May 2021!! It's now April 2022!! I have a single voicemail saved because it deleted the other saved voicemails without my knowing and it's still saying I need to clean up my inbox. THERE'S NOTHING IN IT!!!!!! I just called my inbox and cleared up everything so I know it's empty. This app is trash. T-Mobile is trash. Save yourself a headache and just get Verizon.

Hot garbage. It takes a lot for me to give such a negative review. TMobile has fully earned it. Fails at random intervals, unresponsive UI, complete disappointment. Been this way for years. Development (can you even call it that?) is all but non-existent. What a tragedy this app is, despite the simple task it's been assigned.

What's going on with the app? Not syncing, keep saying try back. I contacted customer service about it, like it said to do if the problem continues, which it does continue and they weren't able to fix it. Said there's modernization in my area, but I mean it's been several weeks. They did transfer me to a tech worker, but I don't think that'll fix the issue either. If talking to a tech would fix it, there wouldn't be this persistent and from what I'm reading prevalent issue.

Update: it now syncs and works. Only annoying thing is when you are listening to message on speaker putting your hand over the screen to press delete blanks out the screen. You have sneak your finger to delete. This only happens when playing the message. Old post: Unable to sync. First time it worked but I now have one message but the app won't sync. No fail message just always says it's synced 3 days ago.

PSA don't use this app: Android has a built in Visual Voicemail service in it's phone app that is much better than the proprietary T-Mobile one. Namely, it's carrier agnostic, does notifications better, and isn't nearly as buggy. Personally I had problems getting this app to activate in the first place and I'm glad I did because it allowed me to do research on the much better alternative

I didn't get voice-mail messages for an entire year because this app failed to update when necessary and it completely stopped working as a result. No warning at all, no alerts to update like when the phone needs updated, and my apps are supposed to automatically update when a new update is available while it's connected to Wi-Fi. Idk why this thing failed to update?? The playstore also no long has a file showing installed apps and list ones in need of updating at the top of the list.

Very buggy having trouble getting vm transcripts correctly, as well as correct caller info is hit or miss. I'm paying around $5 extra per month for this service, which has always been a standard feature with my landlines. All this strikes me as low-end nickel and dime up selling that doesn't work well. All together, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Has great difficulty syncing with the server. Often, messages sent to me don't show up on this app until days later. Terrible. UPDATE: I discovered that if you go to app management and delete this app's storage (not just the cache), it will start working again, for a little while.
