Tablet Clock

This is open source project. You can find sources here
- https://github.com/Nikolay-Kha/TabletClock Do you have old tablet? Or do you want to make your lovely device to show time and weather forecast when it on charging? This application for you!
Nowadays wall clock are quite stupid, but price for them is a little bit less that price for tablet PC. And weather station is expensive. So, why do you need to buy stupid clock or expensive weather station when you can take this application and the cheapest table pc or old useless one and get smart clock:

- they wouldn't lost time during blackouts. And it even doesn't require batteries for that, because device already has rechargeable battery
- screen brightness is auto adjustable. Even if your device has not light sensor
- application use camera as light sensor (disabled in settings by default)
- you can choose one of 16 million color for displaying
- alarm clock from Android OS
- displaying current date, sunset and sunrise
- weather now, forecast for one day each 6 hour and forecast on next week: temperature, wind speed and direction, pressure, clouds, precipitation and if sky is clear
- moon phase, Units for temperature, speed and pressure are adjustable.
- automatic start and close application on plugged/unplugged charger ( disabled in settings by default )
- and even do not have to set up time on this clock, because Android OS could take time from network and you will have exact time!

You can use this application for your lovely device like screen saver while charging. Especially for devices with dock stations. Just turn on autorun and autoclose feature in settings and clock will appear while device is docking.

Tips:On first launch choose your city for weather forecast. If your device have navigation bar, it will be hidden on application start. Any touch return navigation bar to screen, is not affecting on application.Touch the alarm clock icon to show system alarm clock.Touch the time to show application menu (the same as menu button, in case if your device does not have menu button).Touch the weather to switch two types of forecast
- dayly and weekly. If your device does not has a light sensor, but it has camera, better front, turn on brightness adjusting using camera in settings
- it will measure light every 30 seconds. But if you run this on unplugged device it will decrease on-battery time.Time and date format are taken from system. If you need brightness lower that your device allows, change in settings -> text color value R, G, B to lower ones. For example: if you change green (#00FF00) to 80 instead of FF, brightness will twice lower. You can choose screen rotation in settings.

I've always like this app but am still having problems with weather on my nexus 7, I believe the 2nd model, running android 5.1.1. When I try to enter the city I'm being told to check spelling and/or wifi connection. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still having the same problem. I also have a samsung note 5 and was having the same problem until I downloaded the most current update. Any idea what might be the issue.

UPDATE 10/30/2015: I think something went haywire again, now there is no weather at all... YES, thank you for listening and reading emails. I am glad to have full functionality of the tablet clock again. This is by far the best looking dock clock with the most functionality available for my needs.

This clock has everything for a nighttime desk clock as well as a daytime clock. I would recommend it for all tablets. Update 06/11/2016: This app has so many bugs. The error I constantly get is :The data out of date. Check internet connection and device time." Checked both and now no weather data available. Found other apps that are just as good and no problems. Stay away from this one!

Nice app, good clear UI and time shown is uncluttered. No Ads so really good for a free app but please please please fix the weather functionality and this would be one of the best dock clock apps. Searching for major city or postcode returns no results but blames my internet connection. The fact that i am posting this review shows my internet connection works fine.

I like this app about the best. After several months of use i have consistant problems with "data out of date, check internet connection" Wont work for days and then it will for a bit. Absolutely NOT a connection issue. Problem is consistant no matter where i am or whether its my tablet or phone. Aside from this annoyance its perfect i think. But at this point i regret paying for it!

I had to use zipcode to find my city. Sunrise and sunset are backwards, the sun does not set at 7 am in North Carolina. Also, weather graphics are incorrect most of the time. It shows rain when there is humidity, even though chance of rain is zero percent. I still use it because it has features I like. Fix those issues and I will give it 5 stars! Actually changed to 2 stars because after it finds my city by zipcode, it does not display weather.

is useless for the weather as it is invariably wrong for my area, and often not by a little either. Don't know what they use as a source for their reports but checking against a number of such apps and sites, while few match exactly, they are generally in the same ball park, unlike this one. Still, the clock is OK.

This app is the alarm clock I've wanted since 1980. But it intermittantly stops connecting, so all local weather information goes offline for weeks at a time, before spontaineously returning. I wish they would solve this problem. When fully functional, this clock is everything I could ask for. Great potential!

Using a Nexus tablet I cannot pick a city. I have tried entering nothing, New York, London (I live in the UK), but it always gives an error. A great shame as there's nothing else like this. I would love to see this fixed.

Used to be the one and only. And great. Now none of my devices pickup weather stations. Cannot find cities, even Chicago. Please HELP. i would gladly pay $3 for this app. please offer. IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF A SIMILIAR. Please post in comments. UPDATE: 5-17-17. Finally found a equal. Well almost. Look for KEEN2 Big clock. Rock solid so far. Some font a little small.

It works even if the touch screen is broken. The app starts when you plug power. A few bugs: city is not recognized, no weather, the last minute digit does not fit.

To developers: If you would live in America I could understand if you would have had no clue about the rest of the world, but even then it wouldn't be hard to check other weather apps and figure out that no one in "metric" world use meters per second for speed. But according to information about the app, you live in Russia, thus you should know that everyone in "metric" world use km/h for speed! Look it up in your car, or any vehicle with a speed readout and let me know if you ever find anything else other than km/h... In case you still don't get it, I'll put it bluntly: wind speed in meters per second is as gibberish to us, as if you would have used inches per second instead of miles per hour for "imperial" reading. Great concept, but 2 stars down for m/s and 1 star down for constant problems with weather updates and lack of manual selection of weather updates sources

Update weather hasn't worked for a few weeks. I know there's nothing wrong with internet connection cos it's wifi only tablet and every other device is fine. Doesn't recognise any other city if I try to change it

Mat. H. Feb 22, 2017

Okay, I told you last time that the weather system on it stopped working and you haven't fixed it please fix this or I will not give you 5 Stars again

Best tablet desktop time & weather app there is. Auto start when docked/powered makes it a must have. Run for months straight w/o problem

I like the app because it keeps me up-to-date on what time it is and the current weather conditions and also which me up like an alarm clock and I also like the idea just like being several colors.

I love it, it's easy to use.. I have one comment; the clock fits the screen perfectly in portrait display, but while in landscape I can't see the last digit of minutes as "Android navigation" back icons are covering it. is there any solution for this issue?

Mik. D. Sep 9, 2016

My wife uses it on her phone...but it will not allow me to select a city, even with the internet connected

this clock UI is extremely attractive like electonic display banner. Very light weight with all major flexible features. Displays on charging and signoff on disconnection to save battery. Thanks for providing such a nice app. You provided what need exactly in right manner.

Application does not recognize any city and because of this, weather doesn't work. When is used in landscape , the clock is too big and get partially out of screen. Without these bugs, the application could be great.

City Search fails for all, including New York. Weather / city api may be out of date;

Deb. W. Dec 17, 2016

The weather feature does not work as I have entered several cities and it says " not found" It is a nice clock but not much different than the others without the weather.

Dav. R. May 7, 2016

Great clock, been very stable to use, and really like all the features. Only negative is the weather sometimes stops working. Still the best clock I've found on android though.

What I was exactly looking for. If you can please add a Reminder feature to link with Google Calendar. So someone can know what special day is today.
