Just got a Tacx Vortex and after a few head scratches the app works fine. Don't pair the trainer with your phone for a start or the app won't see it. If you get a calibration error, change the tension on the trainer or tire pressure and try again, it needs setting loser than you probably think. It comes up with an error until you are pretty close which is confusing. Would be better if it gave you a clue as to what to do. Also, ride for 10 mins to warm the trainer up as this gets better results.
Wanted to calibrate my Vortex, but the only trainer it can find is a Bushido that doesn't exist. All options, fields, and radio buttons in the portions of the menu that I can access are completely unresponsive. Tacx Training has had no problem pairing with my Vortex. This is a fundamental element of their system that should be bulletproof. Instead, it does nothing but take up space.
This app needs work. First off, this app doesn't close correctly by hitting the back button on Android. I have to click the home button and leave it running in the background. Second, it remembers the units (Imperial) but forgets weights I enter for myself and my bike on the Defaults screen. Third, on the testing screen, only once have I gotten it to enable the road feel settings for my Neo 2T when I change those settings.
Does not work. The app needed a firmware update file to be emailed & when I try to open the file I'm supposed to be able to use this app to open it, but it does not show up. I took my Flux Smart off to do a race, and when I put it back on no metrics (cadence, watts, speed, distance) register when I pedal. Useless.
Yellow/orange/amber light problem (tack flow t2240), it took me 2 years to solve the problem. It was an update issue. But for last years i couldn't connect my trainer to this app (or any app), so I wasn't able to update. Today finally I was able to connect. I turned off everything that has bluetooth in the house, then I clicked on the circle and it finally worked. Once the update was completed it started to work again.
Not fit for purpose at all. I downloaded the app after learning I couldn't calibrate my Tacx sensor via my laptop app, however despite connecting to the sensor, I can't calibrate the sensor in question because my phone "isnt connected to the device". Despite the sensor showing up on the app and even registering the speed I'm going, apparently it's not registering, so the utilities within the app aren't accessible.
The app needs a big update to assist users. The following steps might work for you if you have issues (some are mentioned in the description of the app, but who really reads that...?): - Close áll apps that might want to try to connect to a BT device - Disable bluetooth on áll other devices (laptop/PC etc.) that have been connected to your Tacx trainer - Power cycle your Tacx trainer - Open the app With those steps I have been able to successfully connect and update the firmware of my Flux S with a Galaxy S10.
Cannot update the firmware - the main reason for this app to exist. Xiaomi mi 9t pro. Update: after updating the firmware using different device my device cannot connect to the trainer at all Update2: I've been interacting with garmin support for several weeks with zero progress and silence after my latest message. So don't expect hardware problems to be solved. It makes tacx trainer just a useless piece of furniture
Great App, so many bad reviews, hawever it connected to my Satori Smart straight away, also updated and calibrated it hassle free!!! Was able to check battery status and after I replaced them, new reading appeared (I think it shows status according to the original battery capacity, so fitting smaller - as I did - resulted in lower then full reading!!!) Thanks Tacx!
Useless. The calibration feature works about 1 out of every 10 times, otherwise you get an error. Also, if you forget to close it before starting a Zwift workout, it will hijack the trainer's controllability and Zwift will have no control over the trainer. Would have considered a different trainer brand had I known the Tacx app was so worthless.
Update: no longer can connect to device discussed here. Connecting to Tacx HRB 08248 (which works perfectly with many other apps) gives checkmark and four green bars. However, bpm remains at --. Please fix. If possible, also add a battery indicator.
The calibration function working only once then you can't see the results if you run it again. The communication is a bit hectic. Hardly can find my Bushido, after it's found its stable tough.
Updated the firmware to 3.1.22 / 1.1.3, and now I cannot calibrate the device at all. It connects as much as the light goes green, then I pedal and nothing gets sent to the app. Thanks, you've bricked my Flow Smart.
Was concerned about previous reviews but worked exactly as planned. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 and a TACX Flux S, they paired immediately and I was able to run calibration. Can't comment on firmware as mine appeared up to date.
Broken - Can't Connect to Vortex. The training app can connect to the vortex just fine, but is not capable of checking the firmware. This app doesn't allow me to connect to thr trainer at all.
The app doesn't connect to a Satori Smart, although the normal Tacx app does just fine. There's no text or explanations for the end user. The whole app looks like a sketchy dev/debug version of a normal app. Incredible how Garmin could allow this to be under their new company.
You have introduced some sort of regression with the recent updates. My Satori Smart won't calibrate properly all of a sudden. The calibration process in the app says I am spinning at 30kph even if I am barely touching the cranks. Please look into this!
Pathetic. I have the NEO 2T and trying to update the firmware with this app is a joke. Won't connect. Need to disconnect from other Bluetooth LE items (like, how). For $1500, this should just work, and it doesn't. Might get a wahoo next time.
Have tried for days to connect to Tacx flow to calibrate but have failed. Would have pulled hair out if had any. Then connected to Zwift via ANT and registers straightaway. So can use unit but not calibrated. How many negative reviews on this app are needed before action is taken?
No problems updating or calibrating my Tacx Flow, connected quickly. Had 2 errors during calibration, but restarted calibration and quickly got a result. Simple and easy.
Calibration doesn't work, or very sporadic. Tells you to accelerate to 30km, which you do and it doesn't do anything once you get past 30kms Useless app..
Won't connect to Flux at all. Doesn't even find the device. Training app connects straight away. Utility app is 100% down 👎
I am so desperate to calibrate my Neo that, after having waited for weeks for an answer that never came from tacx support, I decided to give this app a go, despite the comments. I wasted my time, as expected. By downloading it you basically get a home page whose buttons do not lead to anything. Nothing else.
Useless? Got one flux s and see two devices. Bluetooth not stable while sitting next to the trainer.
Latest update no longer allows me to calibrate my Vortex even though the unit is connected and registering an ouput. The calibration text box is squashed.
While TACX Support have been trying to help me connect proudly , the Firmware Update does not seem to work with my Sony Z5 Compact. Very frustrated! 😤 This has rendered my 🚲 trainer inoperative.
I have the Neo 2, currently on the firmware version 0.0.32. I tried to update it to 0.0.34 via the app but it got stuck several times on the same step "entering bootloader". Tried restarting the phone, switching the Bluetooth on, and starting the update again, but nothing seems to work. Please tell me how to send you the logs and I will. I researched online if others had the same issues, and they have, it seems the iOS version of the app works. Unfortunately, not a viable solution for me.
