Buggy, crashing mess. We need the ability to change a day's contact. We need to be able to update notes after dropoff. People forget things, you're just punishing the kids. The update wiped out my dropoff notes. The update no longer stores past entries for food. Bad touch controls and layout, always unusably slow. What awful design, and no updates.
The app is a bit clunky. It works but could be better. I get stuck with non-functioning buttons. I also just got a new phone and cannot get past the email input page to request a link for reset. It just won't 'go' after I've clicked the submit button multiple times.
Despite what the others are saying here, I don't mind the latest UI update. However, just recently I can go longer view the videos. Pictures are fine, but the videos I only hear audio, no video. Please fix!
The app has a very long lag, like 15m to "refresh" when opening the drop off form. The app also lags when trying to move through it or opening attachments. I usually just abort and read the email. Frustrating
The UI refresh didn't do much to improve the flow of the app. It's effectively just a new coat of paint. The app still makes me log in almost every time I open just like it used to.
So many glitches since format was updated. First it wouldn't download pictures then it would freeze when switching between kids. Had days where I couldn't access my one child's info at all. Tech support is basically useless and just dismissive of issues.
Initially gave this a 1 star review as it was a bare bones app with inconsistent functionality for android. I'm happy to see that there vast improvements to UI and workflow. The app is significantly better. Great job!
Have to agree with others here. This UI update is awful. When editing the drop off report, it is very easy to accidentally hit the reset button because the buttons scroll into each other. The daily report is equally awful...the older version made it easy to see and read the different activity sections. With the new UI, there is no separation between the different sections and they all run together, making it very difficult to read the report. The welcome screen is also poorly organized.
Broken functionality aside, the UX is much worse. I have 3 kids and hate that I can't easily access their daily reports from one screen. It's also much more difficult to access their pictures and notes from the school.
Utter garage. I'd give zero stars if I could. Slow, buggy, works a third of the time if you're lucky. My kids' daily reports show up days later if at all. Check-ins rarely work. Couldn't download photos for more than a month. Haven't been able to login for three days now. Emailing support is futile. Quite literally none of the base functionality actually works.
Echoing other comments that still have not been addressed. There is no reason the messaging feature should not work. The text container does not show the entire message as you are typing, making it extremely difficult to compose a message. Just copy some code from an online template and get that fixed already! Communication is, after all, the entire purpose of this app. Photos available for download (only your kid) don't work half the time within the app and no zoom feature on pics is annoying.
This app is absolutely terrible. It's like a first year intern designed it. On top of the awful look of it, when you type anything the text box does not move above your keyboard so you cannot see what you are typing. The download photos option does not work. It's just a messy messy app. I reached out to customer service before that, and the only thing they had to say was that "the app was not tested on [my] phone (pixel 3) so they can't guarantee proper function. Please schools, use another app
The app has finally been updated and I can now download images and videos, although some randomly don't have the download option. Upgrading to 2 stars because it appears they do actually maintain this app a little bit. I still can't see what I'm typing in messages, though. The keyboard covers the text entry box. These are not issues on the iPhone app and this is still the least polished app I've ever used.
The messaging feature in this app is completely useless on my Android phone. If I try to type, the keyboard blocks the text box. And the box doesn't show what was previously typed! I have to resort to typing out a message in another app and then cutting and pasting it. Given that the point of the app is to facilitate COMMUNICATION between preschools and parents, you'd think that the makers of this app would put a little more care into the messaging feature.
Overall, not bad. I do really like the "drop off notes" function. However, it's really annoying that you can't respond to notes directly in the app. There should be a function to reply when you receive notes. Previous daycare used himama which i much prefer to the tadpoles interface, though i still appreciate getting pictures throughout the day and not having a paper report. Really need to add functionality to respond to messages though!
Ack! Hangs up every time I tap the new report notification since updating the other day. It takes me to the app and nothing happens, tapping the report or memories does nothing, neither does the settings. The whole app is frozen. I have to close out the app and open it back up for it to work again. Very frustrating because it worked just fine before.
Multiple critical features in the app are broken after the recent update/UI overhaul. The previous UI was horrendous, but at least it worked. The new UI is much more modern, but I'm now unable to download photos, add drop off notes, update the contact, or enter the pick up time. It's inexplicable how these broken features weren't tested and discovered before launch. Either fix the issues or roll back the update immediately.
Literally nothing on this app works or is even good. The UI is terrible: navigation is hard, non-intuitive and really hard to figure out. Features are broken. We can't communicate with the educators. The photos that are shared with us can be viewed only as thumbnails. The memories tab does nothing. It's shocking to me that a group of people thought that this app was ready to go into production and submitted this to the play store. The developers are bad, and they should feel bad.
The messaging feature of Tadpoles is incredibly frustrating on Android. Everytime you type, the keyboard (no matter which one we use) pops up and hides the text you're typing. So you can't see what you're typing until you manually hide the keyboard. Then when you start typing again, it hides the text. Incredibly frustrating and a consistent experience.
Galaxy 21 Ultra. Cannot edit settings. The daily reports go out of chronological order. Push notifications come in spanish after selecting english as default language.
Does the bare minimum, unattractively. Clunky and amateurishly designed GUI. The back-and-forth between the day care and the parents seems to work well. Top complaints: -Can't add notes after check-in, I.e. change primary contact or pick-up time -no drop off time -would love push notifications for new events/photos -drop off/daily report pages do not refresh, must back out and re-tap to clear "refreshing" or view new notes -buttons poorly placed, i.e. "done" or X behind phone top/bottom bars
I miss the old UI so much. I have an android and 2 children registered under the app. I can access everything for the first kid (though it feels like a maze to find things now) but when I slide the image at the top to see my 2nd child's info, the app remains stuck on my first child. It only switches to my 2nd child sporadically and less than 25% of my attempts. Please FIX!!!
It is for parents but I am actually lost as to what I gain with the pictures...it does not tell me anything. Pls i would love noto see live camera videos for each day - that will be better. I see my child alone without any other kid and I have questions.
I'd really like if I could download the pictures and videos I recieve while my child is at school. Otherwise no problems as of yet.
The update to the update seems to have fixed the new problems it created, so the app is back to at least being semi-functional and mediocre. It does the job... However, the giant "mark as absent" button on the drop-off notes is just asking to be clicked when finished. Why not have a "Done" button as well. The X in the top corner make less sense than a button. One big thing is the messenger needs a lot of work. I should be able to quickly/easily message w/ teachers and not have it timeout regularly (nothing to do w/ my connections). I feel like there's a delay, if messages do ever go through.
