I like tagspaces on my Mac desktop but the Android app is simply broken. I've spent an hour on it trying to create notes in vain. HTML files can't write anything in them. When you save the content is wiped. When I save an md file I see one or two new ones get created. Not sure what's going on. I had high hopes but pretty disappointed.

Cannot view MD files on my tablet and note 4. The mobile version also slow. Concept though brilliant!

Tagspaces is a great way to sort your files using tags. Multi-platform support, ownCloud/WebDAV support and also on Android.

There is a specific reason why I give this 3 stars. It is for the individual, out of the box thinking and organization of this app. I have the desktop version and it has worked fairly well with some minor glitches here and there. However, the android app has several issues that have not been addressed for some time. I have followed this development group for many months now waiting for the Android app to be improved on. If it had been, Tagspaces would surely develop a strong following and good foothold.

Wow! Could be the heart of all I do with files (whatever the file)

After adding tag, pressing the right arrow next button has no effect. Everytime I have to click the small x button to close and choose the next file. Quite annoying!the next button works if I just read the files without tagging. Fix it please!

Doesn't work very well at the moment. Creating new files is hit and miss. Sometimes the app fails to respond all together. Disappointed.

Typing in the text editor is a pain with the Google Keyboard or SwiftKey. When you press backspace, word prediction fails and often results in undesired words. Also choosing a position by touch is hit and miss.

Author needs to spend a lot of time working with users to make it functional. Lots is baffling eg cannot exit app. Will not edit md files

Very clunky interface, but it does seem to work. Desktop app is much better.

Don't buy it none of the functions like tagging search or search are working. This app is total garbage and a waste. None of other reviews in praise are authentic

I understand that you want to replicate the look from desktop app, but it's not very usable on Android. You can't swipe from folders to notes and it's hard to use. Maybe you should use Material guidelines because the app is not worth the money if it stays this way. On the other hand, desktop app is great.

Tagspaces + owncloud is probably the best Evernote alternative for self hosting notes taking.

Gab. P. Feb 6, 2015

I'm currently migrating all my Evernote notes to a solution consisting of Tagspaces and OwnCloud and it's working beyond my expectations. Fantastic to finally have a working Linux solution for synced notes. The UI of the Android client needs to be modified to better suit a touch-environment, right now it looks like a simple port of the Linux UI which does note work very well on 4-6" screens. An exit-button needs to be added :) When that is done, which i expect it will be soon, this will be 5 stars. Add: I seem to be suffering from some weird kind of bug. In the android client, if I create a document and save it, then reopen it for editing. I cannot remove text, only add it.

This is great app if you want to host your own server. It has clients and plugin for windows, firefox, ios, chrome, linux. As of now missing STRIKETHROUGH option in android app.

The UX could be a bit better, but I definitely like the added options around it.

Should not be a paid app. (1) too complicated and no tutorial video. (2) tagged an item but that tag was not added to my tags list. {AWESOME IDEA but huge disappointment. This should be labeled alpha or beta and in Play store beta release stage. }

Very useful app. One of my friends told me about this app, and so far it works just great. The file tagging feather is very original and creative in Android platform, I dreamed of organizing my files on my cellphone like on my Mac, and this app makes it come true.

This is a very useful app for me to manage my files. And I can use it to create note. The experience of this app is very good.

This app is a powerful file manager, it lets you organize, tag and browse your files, photos and documents on many platforms, and its file mark is distinctive. However, its operation a little cumbers.
