Take Me Home (Alzheimers Edition)

This APP is intended to assist persons who have difficulty remembering how to get home. When set up correctly, it is very easy for them to get directions which help them home. If they are still lost, they press a button which will text their location to predetermined people and call one.

The APP starts with voice instructions. The screen that your loved one sees is very simple and easy to understand. No distracting advertising.

Caregivers set up the destination address, names and phone numbers from a separate setup screen. You enter the name of your loved one; your name; and the area code and number (10 or more digits) for up to two phones which will receive location texts in a crisis.

Location should always be turned on. Data should always be turned on so that the route can be downloaded. The APP is optimized for Google Maps. If the loved one’s phone has more than one map service, you will need to select Google maps to default…“Always”. Otherwise it will be confusing for the loved one to know what to do. Use Google maps and you will get turn by turn directions.

A second button on the main screen is used if your loved one needs to let you know were they are. Text(s) are sent to the numbers you enter and the first number is called. That way, you will have the location of your loved one and can find it on a map as soon as you hang up.
