takealot eReader

Functioned ok initially but now just functions when it wants to, which is far less than more. Doesn't open, when it does it just hangs there. If a chapter eventually wants to open after many attempts you cannot scroll to next pages. Despite uninstalling and assistance from takelot staff, nothing has changed. Money back or give a free alternative please

It doesn't work! Bought a book, followed all of the steps, and it never appears. The instructions say it works on android, but all of the screenshots are for iphone, and there's no suggested action to take if the FAQs don't solve the problem. Very annoying experience all around.

Please takealot, improve your eReader urgently! It is slow, unresponsive (simple page turning is painful), does not open on last page read, does not allow for phone access while reading (the phone buttons are not available) and so I have to close the book and lose my place to go anywhere else! I will not buy another takealot ebook until the app is as user friendly as the Kindle app.

The app DOES NOT display any reading content whatsoever. An attempt to contact the developer to query or correct this at this point, seems futile. The email address does not appear to function properly - I've tried a few times. I may have to get a refund from Takelot.

The app crashes every 2 or 3 pages as you read and refuses to start back up for hours. It's a stupid app considering takealot doesn't allow you to read your books any other way. If they are going to make it compulsory they should at least make it functional. AT LEAST.

Very frustrating to highlight text as the display goes bonkers. It all of a sudden shows two columns of text of a different page?! Navigation is terrible. I wish I'd bought the hard copy.

The reader continuously stops paging while reading and selecting a page to read does not work. I have to skip to the next chapter snd then page back multiple times just to finish reading one chapter. Makes for a very frustrating read. Will not buy ebooks from takealot again

App displays only a blank screen. I have followed all the steps, I have been Uninstalling/installing but nothing seems to work. Really disappointed that I am unable to access my book and I can't even return it.

I used to LOVE the takealot e-reader and used it not only for reading e-books, but also for reading and storing pdf files received via email. I cannot read pdf files any more! Please help!!!!

Purchased an ebook about a year ago, but when it showed in the "Purchased" list there was no Download button for me to download and read the book. I've just tried purchasing an ebook again, but still no Download button for me to download and read the book - please sort this out or don't offer ebooks! I have tried it on multiple devices (both Android and Apple) and none of them work!!

If the intention was to make anti ebook piracy the main priority and customer satisfaction bottom, takealot ereader has succeded. Almost no settings and freezes most of the time while reading. Why would you pay twice for a app/ebook like this. Must be a donkey then.

Terrible eReader. Been searching if there is a way to export the file to another eReader. Extremely clunky app, not smooth, and lacks simple functionality like copying words...

Utterly useless garbage - this e-reader is completely useless . Seriously don't waste your time on takealots non-refundable ebooks unless you really enjoy wrestling with technology so backwards it makes the early days of cart screens and the 90s internet seem like 5g-powered insta-satisfaction. #takealotofmymoneyfornothing.

This is th most frustrating ereader ever! Ridiculous to force one to use it for books bought on Takealot. It does not open on the last read page. One constantly needs to find one's place. How come the takealot books cannot be read on Kindle??

Terrible application and money down the drain. I wish I had read these comments before purchasing an ebook from Takealot. There's no download button for my purchased book. The help guide on the Takealot website was useless as well, not be mention many outdated help pages still online.

As other reviews have said, the reader is terrible. I spent a few hours trying to figure out how to read my ebook easily, and here's what I came up with for anyone else that needs it: First use the takealot reader to download the ebook as normal, and it'll save to the takealot reader folder on your device. Then download Aldiko reader, which can at the very least change pages easily, and import the ebook. It'll ask you to log in, select log in with drm, and use adobe id login details.

I also bought ebooks in the past and read it on the takealot ereader, but for some reason I can't find a download button to get access to my already payed book!!! Now I have wasted money and time on a book I wanted to read yesterday!!! If I could I would give this app -5 ... really!!!!

Not at all impressed with this app. The pages of the ebook take forever to load or actually don't load at all. Really annoyed. I bought an ebook on takealot that was a total waste of money now because I can only read it on this app.

The ebooks I bought are unable to download and the technical team doesn't have a solution for this problem. The support for this app is slow and ineffective.

Very frustrating to buy books and then it freezes on a chapter, then you have to skip pages and page backwards...... waste of time

I bought an ebook and cannot seem to resize the text. The only thing it seems to do is add line spacing to text and not enlargen it. Really appreciate the help

Worst reading app ever! Keeps glitching, sticks to one page instead of scrolling to next, then going back a couple of pages! Will stick to kindle from now on!

This app is unusable. You state no refunds but what you guys are doing is fraud. If the ebooks cannot be read, pics won't download, freezes 247, its a defective product. And according to the CPA you have to refund us.

It seems as though others are struggling with the app based on reviews. It works fine for me apart from the odd page glitch.

Everybody is complaining but no response from takelot... I have logged a ticket and still no one has fixed my problem. I even opted to get a physical copy instead because i cannot access my ebook but no, i keep hearing its not takealot policy so no refund. ROBBERY! What happened to the smile guarentee???

Ok all, I figured it out. Go to "Get Books" they asked you to log in, once you do your book is there ready to download. Its all good after that. Worked great on my Samsung Tablet.

I have tried several times to activate the app, but the screen shows... activation in progress, but nothing happens from there. I have tried several times, but with no luck. How am I supposed to read my ebook?

Just plain useless. Followed all the instructions. When I click on the purchased book. The screen goes blank and stays blank. What do you suggest I do Takealot??

I have a Pixel 3a which is supposedly compatible. After authorising with my adobe ID there is nowhere to sign into my takealot account. When I try open the ebook via downloads it just takes me to the blank app and the ebook won't open.
