This app is AMAZING! I joined for vocal lessons/coaching, which I've been wanting to do for years but couldn't because it was too expensive. I'm still on the free trial and I have at least a class every day. The teachers are fantastic, even in group sessions you get individual attention if you ask for it, and you can take as many classes as you like (I'll be learning sign language soon!) I never leave reviews but this app is worth it, will definitely be buying the year package

Im taking ASL and..AMAZING!! Very personal and super easy to navigate! I do the premium membership and if your looking to truly master what your learning, its definitely worth it $20/month or about 1/2 that if you pay the chunk all at once for the year. If you can utilize them, you can get anywhere from 15 to 18 classes/week! I have yet to take advantage of their 1 on 1 private classes with their very legit tutors you most of the time have already met in most of the group classes! CANNOT wait!!

The videos will not work. I waited 15 minutes into a class for it to begin, left the class &re joined. The video and audio were to delayed to understand what was happening. I know my internet is good because I video chat with friends often. In the second class the audio was fine but the teacher's video was frozen. I could see students video when the teacher asked for displays but the teacher's video was frozen. This is unfortunate because I was really excited to try these classes.

I use this app to get my schedule for vocal lessons and to join group lessons which are incredibly helpful. It works well. I've never had it crash. I use it on my smartphone and it works fine. You can find contact information on their for your vocal coach in case you need it. Great app.

keeps cutting off instructor. I have to exit class then rejoin to see what is going on. Audio continues but I can not see anything. 4/28/19 app works well for iOS, but I can not see enough on my iphone screen when music sheets are shown. My Samsung tablet runs Android and app goes into "lockout" mode, as other people experienced. I called customer service, then it worked for a few weeks. Since Friday night it keeps asking for my name but will not accept it. Locked out till they open Monday.

It's a decent app that allows you to learn at an affordable price. My issue is that you can't join a class after a certain time. If it kicks you out you can't rejoin if it's been 30 minutes which is unfair. A lot of people get kicked out for no reason too. It said that my "goodnight" message was inappropriate and then kicked me out of class. Please fix these issues because it's a decent app.

Lousy on my phone. The app has great content but I can't open the videos on my phone or tablet, only on my laptop. And now the phone version is saying update required even though it's already updated. So now the whole program is broken on the phone. Still no videos on the tablet. One more glitch and I'll probably just go back to the free videos on youtube.

I would give 0 stars to an app that plays tricky games. Already to start a class, suddenly goes away. Another "option" appears for a later class with the button to join ready. Once clicking the button, keeps saying "error", "problems with connection". There is not a single issue with my connection. The whole point? To guide people to pay membership. How can I trust your app if you present these issues? I will make sure to mention this is my blog, vlog, magazine, and other communication media.

I just attended my first guitar lesson with Donnie!! He is an awesome teacher!! I'm a lefty and normally have a hard time learning from a right handed teacher. However, he was VERY patient with me and I ACTUALLY learned the 2 chords he was teaching!! I finally feel like learning to play guitar is an attainable goal for me now! I even upgraded to premium!! Thank You Donnie!! I'd be hesitant to try and learn from any other teacher!! JUST AWESOME!

Even though the app glitches sometimes. I am 100% happy with it because you get to talk to and learn with real teachers for free (and for money if you want to have some additional features and more options of teachers and classes)!

I absolutely love this app and the lessons I've taken so far. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because I cannot get my microphone to work in the classes! It showed as enabled in the settings in the app, but when I go to a class, the teacher always says it's not turned on. Please help!

I haven't been able to use this app yet. Everytime I try to sign into it it tells me that I need to update the app. I have updated it and even uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still nothing. It's very discouraging considering I recently bought a digital piano and Im supposed to get two months of free lessons.

Very convenient app for those looking to learn a new language or skill... Easy to navigate... Efficient notifications features... I have been using it for a year now and will continue to use it and recommend it to my friends 🙂

Great teachers, great group classes, plenty of opportunities to practice. I have been learning ASL for a month and cannot believe how much my receptive skills and vocabulary have improved in such a short time. Highly recommend!

An extremely no-frills app that is useful, light on resources and adheres to standard design guidelines. The only mark against this app is the overly-fanciful and fairly slow intro screen each time the app is restarted. As for the service itself, TakeLessons is what you make of it. Additionally, it should be noted the app name is kind of a misnomer -- it supports both "normal" TakeLessons (find a private 1-on-1 tutor online or IRL) and TakeLessons Live (scheduled online group classes) equally.

I have waited to join the classes but both times I've tried to join at the schedule time the bar is faded out. If you require payment for just check it then you should not be boasting about taking free lessons. I will not pay for something that doesn't even allow me to view the goods before buying. Uninstall

These lessons are GREAT! I took my first Ukulele with Grant today and got so much out of it. I'm completely new to Ukulele, but I can read music thanks to a few years in piano basics and chorus. It was so easy to navigate and join the class. Grant was also really patient with us newbies, which I know from my teaching years is one of the most important qualities in a teacher. I highly recommend this company.

This is quite a mess. Nothing about this app for primary site works. They told me I have to pay before testing functionality, but so far everything I've tested, which isn't much, is broken, which is ominous. Maybe someone else will have more luck, but a rating of 3.7 is always bad news.

The app made me wait and I couldn't talk to the other students beforehand like it was promoting and when class was finally supposed to start It said, "Your class will be starting soon..." 5 mins later I went to the website and logged in there and I found that the class had started.... Then after finally getting onn the website, it didn't like me pulling up the keyboard. Half the screen turned black and never came back. Shotty at best, would recommend some resources into better programming 👌

This app is really educational and the teachers are very polite and caring. The only downside is that there aren't many language choices, but other than that, I totally recommend it if you want to learn French, Spanish or ASL.

I have tried on a number of occasions to access classes I signed up for. I havent been able to get into the classes! The app crashes each and every time! It's such a disappointment too. I was really excited about learning sign language.

This app is excellent! I used this app to learn how to play the Ukelele and America Sign Language. Now, I'm good at it now. :) But unfortunately, I don't use TakeLessons anymore. I kinda wanted to practice on my own now. But, if you want learn something like an instrument or American Sign Language, this is the right app! :D

I have a relatively new tablet but this app rarely opens, about once every 7 times it works. Very frustrating when trying to get into a music lesson.

Excellent way for you to start a new hobby. Highly recommend starting with the group courses because for the price you get dabble in a new hobbies and get advice from people who are very experienced. It's a good time.

So far, I've had great experience. I have learned of 4 to 5 different exercises of increasing vocal range and breathing techniques that helps.

Instructor screens always turn off. You have to leave class to turn them back on, then they turn off again. Free apps get this right. Theres no way you should pay for this rip off.

Love the teachers and the classes but the app for Android leaves a lot to be desired. I have to force stop it regularly and have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.

This app doesn't get enough love!!! Literally 100% free half hour classes or 45minute classes with extra useful options if you pay premium! I love it I add a class almost every day

App crashes when I attempt to enter a class. Pixel 2 phone on high quality network, so it's not a hardware issue.

Really enjoy the short jam packed videos in ASL, Spanish videos are too fast though. Can't wait to find out what the future holds 😌
