App works fine but all the prices are inflated per piece on top of a delivery fee. Dish at a Chinese restaurant is $10 in store it's $17 on the app. On top of a $4 delivery fee.

App is almost useless...I gave it 2 stars simply because it is possible to place an order through the app. But you can't see any information on past orders, status of the current order, nothing. You have to go to the website to see any of that, so I don't see why they paid a developer to make this app. Also there's a bug where if you try to add special instructions, the keyboard opens and immediately closes. No updates since it was released 10/2018, so it's obvious they don't even care.
I'v been ordering from Take Out Central for yrs, and I find that Takeout Central has a variety of restaurants to choose from that you can't find through competitor apps. Takeout Central is very fair, always putting the customer first. On occasion, if a restaurant makes an error, Takeout Central is quick to give the customer a generous discount, even though it wasn't their fault. They are also quick to answer a call, and they can help better personalize an order.
I've been using Takeout Central since the beginning of the pandemic. They by far have better service than the other delivery options out there. If ever I've given fewer than 5 stars on an order, it's been an issue with the restaurant and not the delivery hero. I also like that I'm supporting a "local" business and not a national biggie.
App is lacking many features. There is no way to change your settings (address, delivery instructions, payment options) until you place an order. The app does provide helpful notifications (e.g. order received, driver on the way, etc.) but when clicked simply open the app with no new information. Other delivery apps provide better settings control and information (e.g. order/delivery tracking).
Poor user interface. It asks for the CVV every time, which is great, except it does not trigger the keyboard to pop up in order to enter the CVV info. I also cannot seem to access my profile to update my payment options without ordering. Good concept, poor execution.
The delivery service is fine. What I HATE is the push notifications! I will let you know when I want to order something. I'm sick and tired of getting notifications about specials. I'm not going to order just because you are running a special. If I can't figure out how to disable the push notifications, I'm going to drop the app.
Only use takeout central as a last resort for delivery and am reminded of why every single time! They either show up late, mess up the order or cancel your order with short notice. Uber Eats, Postmates, etc are all a better option.
I use this app at least 3x per week to get dinner delivered. Lots of great restaurants in Durham. My go to favorites are Pulcinella's in Durham (Italian) and California Pizza Kitchen. Fast delivery and also nice to be able to call a local customer service person if I ever need anything for my order!
I really like Takeout Central and have absolutely no complaints about their service, but this app is complete and utter garbage. They should really remove the app from the store and rely on their website, the app just makes them look bad to potential new customers.
Checkout interface is broken on final screen. Cannot input special instructions, name, or update phone number. "Place order" button is greyed out... Makes it impossible to give you my money.
Takeout Central has been a life saver during our relocation to Asheville during winter storms and the pandemic. I suspect it is a good new habit that will last long past these issues !!
should add a tracker like uber eats so we can see when you're close. should have a menu option to see current and past orders.
Closest to a good NY pizza as we have found. Their garlic knots are the bomb and desserts are fantastic. Their prices are reasonable and always have leftovers!
App had some rough spots but is improving significantly. Drivers are quick and courteous . A great solution for a busy weekday night in Durham.
There's no where to look at current orders or make sure the delivery date was correct. The ordering process is easy.
Best of u can order in advance. When I set a time in the future even if 2 or 3 hours I've had more consistent experience.
Your app sucks... your service sucks. I just uninstalled the app on phone for good. There are plenty of other people to order from.
Unlike Door Dash. Uber Eats or Grub Hub, Takeout Central is a local business. They also have smaller zones (different drivers for Chapelboro, Raleigh, Durham, etc., making for faster deliveries. I also like their list of restaurants.

always easy to use and quick service
Work for the most part. But, there is no way for me to add instructions for the driver. It can be confusing getting to my house.
Reasonable delivery times and always fix any issues quickly.
Delivery was fast. Food was hot and order was correct. A ++

I generally prefer ordering from the website buy do use the app at times. The service from takeout central is very good however I am unable to get push notifications for order status and coupon codes on my current phone. I have everything enabled and it still doesn't work. I would rate higher if it weren't for that.
