Listened to a talk radio program for 20 minutes today. Of that, 15 minutes was Talk Stream and other ads that seemed to play in a continuous loop. Finally switched to another streaming service and went right to the program. Update: TS Reports that the problem is with the streamer and not the app. I believe this is true because I just recently had the same experience with a similar app. My guess is that The algorithm that ques ads has some sort of bug that causes a loop. TU TS 4 responding.
I'm about a half second away from uninstalling this app. It's impossible to shut it down, even if you use the close button. I'm sick and tired of digging through multiple levels of menus to force close it. Every time I leave for work in the morning in my truck and connect Bluetooth, talkstreamlive automatically starts playing the station I was listening to the night before if I forgot to force close it. SO IRRITATING !!
THIS IS A REPACKAGE OF TALK RIGHT AND TALK LEFT BY THE SAME GUY WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS! The content is good, but the app has issues... Can't switch cities without the app reverting to it's original city (SanFransico) with liberal news and advertising! It has the option to change cities, but no prefferences, even though it has a huge footprint and uses cache and storage? The app is also hard to turn off, the off button does not turn it off, click the off button and it pops back up!
The mobile version is bad compared to the desktop version. When closed out this program does not release resources but continues to run, taking up resources needed for other applications and draining your battery. Even turning off wi-fi will not cause it to stop, it just continues to chew up resources. Because of this, I can't recommend this program.
Great app but occasionally a station doesn't play at all. However, usually programs are available on multiple stations, so you can certainly get around this problem. Talkstream had a great selection of live shows and podcasts. I was introduced to numerous programs I wouldn't have heard of but for this app.
good app. only downfall is it continues to Play in the background. must close app, then go to settings and 'FORCE QUIT app or it will use up battery and data unknowingly in the background. sometimes THAT doesn't even work! every time i start the car, the bluetooth pick it up and it starts playing even if i did the force quit! i uninstalled this app... i couldn't stand it anymore.
Best by far of all the radio apps I have tried. Mainly conservative programming, very easy to use, has a sleep timer, and runs perfectly although you do need an internet connection. Highly recommended, for simple to use, access and low power draw. Can run for hours and still not deplete my batt on a older Samsung ph.
love this app! with stations dropping certain controversial shows, this app has allowed me to still follow them (thank you!!!) with great ease. I haven't experienced any issues with the app stopping (like I've seen others stating), but perhaps for what I use I'll never encounter that. the ads have never hindered my listening and I appreciate that this app is free. thank you so much for your product!
Reception is great and I only had trouble connecting Twice in 2 months. Connections were made, 10 minutes later. Since my last review a month ago, my reception with this app has been Perfect! It is The Best Streaming app I have ever had. Tom
DONT WASTE THE TIME ON THIS APP. runs for 8 minutes then shuts off for no apparent reason. cant you idiots read the reviews or do you not care about the users of the app. it doesnt work fix it. I've had this problem for over a year now. update: tried it again today oct 6 still only get 7 mins then shuts off. seems that radio figured out how to stream. i guess you still cant figure it out
It had been pretty good up until TSL overlays its own ads over the ads of the program your listening to. So, if TSL, maybe, doesn't like the (political) point of view of a program, TSL will start playing its own choice of ads. When I find an alternate choice that doesn't try to skew the view and play its own agenda, I will be leaving TSL.
I just wish I could hit the PLAY button after pausing the station. The play button didn't work on my iPhone and or Android. I'll update the review if this can be fixed...
Love this app except on my cell phone, Kyocera pro, it shuts off every 5-7 minutes in the middle of a conversation! Drives me crazy! Didn't always do that however. It's something fairly new. Works fine on my tablet! Please fix it!
Love the shows BUT OVER ONE HOUR used trying to reset a password so i can add show tiles. If eBay, Amazon and other sites were this aggrivating people would just leave. Shows are great ..... if you want to login or change password very ugly. Spare me the tutorial. All pw change protocols are similar.
Glad it plays while the screen is off. Something youtube does not do. Saves battery and my sanity. Simple and most of the time, reliable. Hope i dont see useless upgrades. When in doubt, leave it out.
Good content and easy to use. One fault I have with it is that the volume drastically increases during ads which is extremely annoying. LOUDER ADS DON'T CAUSE ME TO BUY PRODUCTS BUT TO TEMPORARILY MUTE THE APP INSTEAD!
It's always been hard difficult to close this app but for some strange reason they removed any ability to shut it down without uninstalling it. I will be removing this from my phone and seeking another android streaming app. until now I would have rated it a 4+ but now it's unusable.
I have trouble with alot of buffering and sometimes the volume stays real low and I have to restart the app. I have use iHeartRadio more often. This app seams to be getting worse.
I've used daily for a while now. but it stops every few minutes now. seriously. you have to restart it every 5 mins or so. that's simply impractical. I'm going to uninstall and look for another app.
I like the app easy to use,nice selection. I understand when we watch a station for free their will be ads. I have not had any issues.
PRO-So far works fine to me. I can't understand why people THINK they are having issues with app continuing to run in the background? To truly STOP an app, you HAVE to go to settings and force stop, and CLEAR CACHE, and as far as Bluetooth turning it on: DO-NOT ALLOW BT to allways be runnin! Also Exiting the app ( NOT Just Swiping recently used apps, you HAVE TO FORCE CLOSE IT) Then you should be able to have Bluetooth preference for the app you want to auto-connect.(if u have bt always on
