Talkatone: Free Texts & Calls

When it works for you, it does send and receive messages and calls, simply. But when it doesn't, you will be hit with "Not delivered" repeatedly when you send texts, & calls that never go through. I went through three paid numbers in a half hour contacting my actual phone number to test this, and all failed. Servers don't work well or the numbers are network blocked. This is not a relible service. It works fine when it works, but don't bet on it doing so.

Avoid if possible. I have used this app for several years when it was first used with google voice. I paid for no ads but still they show ads randomly. No matter what device the app runs poorly. Often not sending text messages, and not working with the first call. Connecting to server often takes several tries. They now started some "fair use" rule that blocks your texts and calls. DO NOT USE THIS APP, company is doing really dodgy stuff add the app is just barely works on a good day.

App works well. It makes my tablet run slower but I think it's a cheaper tablet....not so much the app. I like being able to import my contacts, and being able to both call and text. Voice mail works well also. I have had no issues with this app. !!!

The quality was bad but I downloaded it because it was a small program in terms of total memory required and then after a few weeks I find it's not working because it needs to be upgraded so I upgrade and now it tells me that the same phone that I was working on before no longer works as if there's something wrong with the phone which is obviously stupid because it works fine before and everything else works on the phone something about Play services which is installed and seems to be working

I tried to install this app and it wouldn't connect into my home WiFi system. I only attempted to create an account once and it stated I tried too many times to create an account - which was false because it wouldn't connect into my wifi right away. A little bit frustrating. Looking for another app to serve this function.

Dont waste your time/money on this now bait/switch cash grab garbage app. Used to be 100% free, super useful. Suddenly you have to buy credits to "recieve" any call/text etc, but it was useful so fine a few bucks NBD. Before if you didnt use for a month, then you lost the number. Now I logged on 10 days after I bought. not only did I see "charged" 20 credits for "inactivity" text, I saw I never got notifications for a missed important $$ call AND several texts, + the inactivity warning.

As of today 3/26/2022, this thing again is acting up. It can't connect to the server, I can't get calls when they come in. This app is just not useful. As of today, 1/24/2022, When I try to make a call, it doesn't work. The screen just closes before I can get a screen shot. I haven't been able to make calls in 4 days Original App closes by itself, will cut off in the middle of a call, won't notify me of missed calls or new texts unless I open the app, call connection is bad.

Ive had this app with no problems for years, until this year it has significantly gone down hill. Twice now it wont connect to the network for weeks on end, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Ive tried different wifi networks, ive downloaded and signed in on other devices. Nothing has remedied the issues. I cannot make or recieve calls or texts. I guess its time to find a new app.

I would give this a five-star review because it deserves one no matter what because it's free so I did give it a five-star changed it from a three to five because it's been so handy. I would just like to see sometimes the texting and calling sometimes drops out for no reason if you can work on a little bit of a glitches. Like sometimes it won't let me send a message it send a message not delivered and then sometimes the call just drops out like I'll be calling it'll ring drop

I literately have ZERO issues with this app! No problems when talking, no cutting out, no problems people calling me... no problems texting, either! They put no limit on calls or texts...I can send cute, fun, funny or adorable gifs, stickers, and emojis... ALL FOR FREE🤷🏼‍♀️ could not ask for a single thing to be better... YOU ARE AMAZING TALKATONE ❤

I have been using the phone for at least a year now as my second line for business I have a extended private phone in Japan but this is the one I received in America next to talk next talk and text messaging this is the app that I would use compared there is a lot of free systems but the analytical result system is based on having the phone for the app so it's not free you have to have the hardware that I software and if you'd like extra then you can pay by the month so each month is the amount

It's amazing really..... I wish there was an app or a unique SIM card for all my numbers. I work and travel in five different states. It's physically impossible to fit all these numbers on my phones, or carrying 3 phones around..... Hope Google will take action.... Willing to pay a monthly Fee for it.

Leaving Talkatone... It's been a good time using this app but it's surely had it's issues this is the last straw for me after today I've been trying to send messages, make phone calls and nothing it's keep repeatedly saying "not delivered" and it the app is not connecting to my WiFi but this app is good and I've enjoyed my time using it maybe I'll come back in the future!

This app is fine if you only receive occasional texts and phone calls. Anything more than like 3-5 and you will be stopped from using the service. With as many ads as this app has I would expect more. Junk app!

Use this to call UK when in USA. Credits are exceptional value. Also use it whilst in UK to call USA when calls are free. Connections always very quick and calls are clear. Like that I can use my tablet too. This is a great app.

I tried to reconnect to app it just giving me a notification that I had to call customer service. I left my phone on top of a friend's car. Well I did get my phone back. However, I was w/out a phone that's why I needed to use talkatone. I found another free talk/text app. Thanks anyway Talkatone 🤔🤔

Free version: 1 text/day and will keep the number for a month. Paid version: $5 gets you about 30 texts lasted me 2 very short conversations. So Free: text every day Paid: may as well not have a number as if someone were texting me I wouldn't know. Can no longer text out. App is useless til I plug in $1.60 and would've kept my number anyway. Only dif is, had someone called me, I could've set it up to ring on another line. Nice but I don't generally talk on the phone

This app won't stay open. If I try to text, it will cut off in the middle of a text, freeze and automatically close, If I'm on a call, it will drop automatically. It's really bad!

Worked great for a while. Using this mainly when I don't want to give out my regular phone number. Worked for verification codes and things as well. Until last week. Can't receive texts. Phone calls go to voice mail. Support said something about my network/wifi blocked. Tried different wifis around town. Worked once. Doesn't work at home anymore. Customer service doesn't respond to follow up emails. Unusable for me now.

After installing, deleting and then reinstalling this app because I wanted to give it another shot, it worked consistently for about two and a half months. But now, I can no longer send messages nor make calls. I have contacted Talkatone support twice now and it's been close to week, yet I have received no response. Still disappointed as it is. Such a shame that I'll probably have to delete it for good this time.

The app constantly shuts down and is basically useless. I contacted customer support and explained the problem. I let them know I had restarted the app and restarted my phone several times and saw no improvement. Their customer support told me to restart the app. I contacted them again, they ignored me. This has been going on for months. I only continued trying to resolve the issues because I was using that number but I give up.

Terrible app. I've had nothing but problems from this app. Before it was all small inconveniences and annoyances. Now the app has constant issues dropping the mic hardware from my phone, and will not work no matter what I do. Reinstall, clear cache, give it permissions multiple times, doesn't matter. I use this extra number for my business, and I completely regret it. I pay extra money for their dumb advertisements and I STILL -constantly- get notifications getting in my way. Terrible app.

Horrible application. Keeps disconnecting constantly from the server. What makes this app even worse they have disabled my account after few days of not using it. Anyway it did not work to begin with, so there is no loss of any kind. TextNow works perfectly fine compared to Talkatone. This application is a total garbage and waste of time. I recommend to look somewhere else.

So far, since ive downloaded this app, its awesome. No run around. Just download and make an acct like all apps but its instantly workable and VERY VERY helpful if youre in a snag or as a back up. The calls are a bit crackly but for my needs at the time of use, to me it was no biggie.. but yeah very crackley. That is the only prob. Thank thank thank you to this apps Developers !! I appreciate the simplicity the no run around and just no b s to deal with this app !! So again THANK YOU !

This app is absolute trash. It worked fine for a little over a month and then suddenly stopped working without reason. Messages no longer go through. Calls no longer go through. Customer service refuses to respond to my requests. If you're in a pinch and need something reliable, look elsewhere. Otherwise, you could suddenly be in a situation, in which the app doesn't work.

Great app. This is one of the best apps out there but I can't send pictures which is kind of weird 😕 I have been trying to send a pictures for weeks but it won't go through and texts keep going through
