The caller must be in your contacts for the app to speak caller name, otherwise it speaks it out as unknown caller or says the number. This is a free version and has some minor limitations. You can try this version for as long as you want before buying the pro version.

Having used Samsung Note, I got used to Driving Mode, which reads out the caller name and the alarm label with time. This App has filled half the void with caller name read out. But need to fix the name being announced when an incoming call is turned silent. Once in a theatre I muted the incoming call as soon as it rang, but to my embarrassment the App announced 'Incoming call from Xxxx' three times. This should be fixed immediately. Also would like to suggest the alarm label and time read out feature.
To get the app to read out text you need the paid version, all I need is what this app does, tell me who sent it. I then use my Bluetooth phone in my truck to call them. This is a great app, but I think the price for the paid app is to much. Lower the price and I'll buy it, the reviews for it are not reading well enough to make it worth what your asking.
This app is a wonderful app and u can rely on it to inform u wen u get a text or call ....I've had this app for almost two months now and i see no prob as in it doesn't bother u with ads and it doesn't stop and ask u to buy the full version, it has been with me throughout the time I've downloaded it until now and the voice is still clear and sweet. Glad i downloaded this app
Have my hands full a lot. Can't grab phone to see who is calling. This app is great as it tells me who is calling and I can decide to answer or not. I use it with my ZTE Lever and have had no trouble with it so far. Do wish it would say number calling if not in my contacts as it may be a number I do know that just isn't in my phone.

My dad doesn't know how to read so I set out a search for an app that would read his text messages to him. He is tickled pink he can text me when I am busy and doesn't have to call me every 5 seconds. We both have Samsung Galaxy Exhibit.
The only notifier that is CONSISTENT and does not bog down memory because you can store it on your external memory. A plus is adding info to unknown callers {i have it saying SOME YAHOO IS TRYING TO REACH U}
Honestly I don't need my phone to tell me who's texting but it's nice and confusing. Usually phone programs that say names get it wrong horribly but this program works we. That or my friends/family don't have hard to pronounce names
Tells me the name of person who is calling or texting me. There's no need to look at my phone to decide whether or not I want to answer.

like configuring name to be spoken for unknown number but doesn't seem to allow repeating texts, only repeating incoming caller announcement.
The word excellent is an understatement, think of any other word that could be used in place of excellent that's the most qualified word thanks.
Would've given 5star, except that when connected to bluetooth, the sound still comes out of the phone. The sound is doubled (cell and Bluetooth) and it is annoying.
Pretty cool to know who is calling or texting me. Works great with my Galaxy Note 3. Small app size won't take up a lot of space.
Won't pause my TuneIn Radio Pro, so many times I can't understand both @ same time ... another program did THIS correctly, but changed my volume and offered fewer options ... still trying to make it work right
Wow what a fantastic app! I was not expecting this I thought it was a very basic! which it is but it does so many things like speak incoming callers whoever they may be and it also speaks incoming text messages! Very clearly so I would highly recommend this app for any person with a cell phone! Lol May God!! bless you all & enjoy take care!
Been using this app for years and love it! It's soo convient to just have your texts read aloud. Especially when my phone is across the room or in my purse. I don't have to get up to check it! Just flip it over or shake it in your bag to get it to shut up quickly if needed.
I like spoken callar because it's convenient like when you're busy doing something or working is announces the person calling or the message you receive and it's time saving
works but the ringtone plays over it. needs to delay ring tone until after it speaks. says unknown when some messages come in even if they are in phone book. like eBay messages. please fix
Hangs at times. Late to announce at times. Even after receiving call a beep sound is heard misleading to a second call waiting. Saying all that, an OK app.
It's good, but have to open the app after every time I turn it on. It won't work if I don't. Will not read the message or sms mail.

It was great now only works sometimes and it seems less each day. Support links don't work. Feedback links in app don't work. Apparently needs updates but none offered.
A bit intermittent sometimes it will announce and sometimes it won't ..found that you have to open the app to re initiate until next time..may look for something better...
Had one type called drive mode a year ago pretty great, so is this one, wish it had email notification as well🤓thanks
It is Not silencing when I silent the ring tone. If we are in meetings, conferences, seminars, we silent the call when any calls comes by pressing the volume key. Then the ring tone will get silent, but it is not getting silent. It is continuously saying the name even if the ringtone is silent. It would be great if this problem is resolved. Pls resolve it
So far it works . let's me know who calling however it shuts off during the day and will not tell you who's calling so I'm waiting on them to fix that bug
The thing I liked about this app is that it worked ... except for group message replies. I send messages to my two dog walking partners and they reply. Even though I see their names individually via text, they are NOT announced. However, IF I send an individual message I will hear their name on a reply. Since Android breaks out the names in text, it should be possible to do it for this voice announcement. That was the main reason I wanted it in the first place. But it is still a good app. So far the best one I have tried for my purposes.
