Overall satisfied with the app once I understood it more. Pages are setup, and it refreshes manually versus taking away tweets I was looking at suddenly. I prefer this I do need to comment about the Saved Tweet section. It doesn't synch with my Bookmarks and since it's unique to each device something I Saved on one is invisible to another so it's easy to lose them now. It also sorts them by date the tweet is created not saved. That's confusing. Add a sort function and synch to Bookmarks please
The app is cool. Took me a few weeks to learn all features. One feature that's spotty is the scheduled messages. Occasionally the app does not send my scheduled Tweets
Loved it so far. But, here are some problems I have had encountered. 1. Some threads are missing. There's one tweet and no further tweets. 2. No polls. 3. Not available to view other user's quoted tweets. Important due to locked tweet functions. 4. Can't view who has liked my tweets. 5. No check mark on verified users. 6. No bookmark. 7. No indication of following a locked account.
It's a very clean app, I love the layout, the customisation is excellent. There a few limitations because the Twitter API doesn't allow 3rd party apps to do a few select things but it's such a minor thing, more something to be aware of and something that shouldn't be held against this app because ANY 3rd app will suffer from the same limitations.
It's a good alternative to Twitter, nice experience 👍 without ads. App photo viewer, likes, notifications sometimes lagging and slow. Overall experience 30% awesome
Used to be great. Sadly GIFs and videos no longer play automatically in the timeline, which is annoying.
Can't even login. Talking about date and time. You need to get a key from your developer .. blah, blah, balah. I just want to easily use an app I just purchased, not start research on how to freaking login.
No bookmarking ability but rest of the app is great. Love the fact that there are no ads and no algorithmically suggested tweets like the official Twitter app.
Great app in general, the only thing that I found annoying is the display switches off while playing videos. I searched in the settings for a way to keep the display on while playing videos, but I couldn't find any.
All posts seem to be in random order. Even thread posts are mixed with other posts. Default UX is unintuitive. Link previews are a bit meh. Maybe still better than the official app.
too much white space - a lot more info could be packed until the screen... After developer's reply: there is no "UI" section in settings, so your comment looks designed to impress the uninitiated? I've tweaked everything possible but still too much space. I want a twitter client which lets the text be *crammed* together.
Activity page is not showing anything even after multiple interactions with people. Wonder what's the problem.
Well, it's better than Twitter proper, but that isn't difficult to do. It's really good at showing tweets in the order they are posted and I haven't missed anything from people I follow. I like that you can download any attached pictures. HOWEVER, the app has many flaws. First, when trying to add pictures to your tweet, the photo editor is TERRIBLE. Cropping and rotating pictures are a nightmare. If a tweet is part of a thread, the app loads the ENTIRE thread (or tries to) and moves the view up to the top tweet leaving you to scroll all the way back down. Unfortunately, swiping down also cancels out of things means I accidentally cancel a lot of things while just trying to scroll. It's ok if you're desperate to avoid Twitter proper, but I'm looking for a new app.
I can't attach a video. Every time I keep adding a video, turn to the official Twitter app because Talon couldn't add it in a tweet.
Update: Fixed! No issues now. Thanks! Opening GIF or pictures freezes the app now. Almost impossible to kill the app. It then causes phone to lock multiple times. Had to reboot a few times. Huawei P30 Pro
Just updated, opening any Gif or picture of video crashes the app. I cleared the cache still doing this. Please fix this ASAP. Using Samsung s20+. Edit: this issue seems to be fixed now. Thanks for the quick update!
I really like the app since it allows me to avoid all of the suggested/promo content of Twitter. However, I have noticed that I don't see what the people I follow have liked, only their retweets. Is there anything I need to change in the settings to change this?
You seem to be missing the option to export and import settings. Please look into it. Also just noticed that long threads just dont appear.
better than the official app, and I don't think there's anything better, but threads are a bit of a mess in that they are down as individual messages (and this in reverse order of how you want to read them) and some quote tweets are not displayed.
Visually the app looks nice, and it has quite a few colour options to customize it to your liking. But functionally this app is a mess. On a lot of interfaces, if you try to scroll even the tiniest bit further than the end of a reply chain or something, the app will take you back a page, which is super frustrating. When you open the app, is stays where you left off so you have to scroll way up to see new tweets. There's quite a few more navigation issues which just makes the app unusable.
It is attractive and easy to use. Swipable pages are very useful. It manages multiple accounts fairly well. It doesnt handle threads very well, though, especially if you want to interact with a post in the middle of the thread. Notifications for direct messages on a swipable page haven't worked well for quite a well. All in all its fair, but not reliable enough.
So I love this app, been using it for a while. My only two complaints are: 1. Why do I have to go into another screen to look at the replies, I would love to see all the replies in a tweet directly and not have to click in Show All button to go into yet another screen. 2. I don't know if it's unavailable or I just couldn't find it but, the amount of hearts, replies etc in a tweet don't show in the main timeline, would be nice to be able see that and not have to go inside the tweet to check its stats. Other than that this is a solid app and the article mode is brutal, just looks really good and makes it amazing to read. Love this app!
Very pretty, but terrible TERRIBLE UX design. I find myself opening twitter in a mobile browser just because this app is so confusing and unintuitive. For example, swiping down in most apps refreshes. In this one, it either closes the application entirely or refreshes depending on the context. I understand this was meant to be a feature (and will probably be met with some snarky comment based on the developer's previous responses) but it just doesn't work well. For whatever reason, tweet replies are chronological instead of by most popular. I'm sure I could change this somewhere, but no sorting or filter is immediately visible on that screen and I assume I'd need to dive into settings. You'll often find yourself struggling to make it back to the main menu in this app. I've found the only way sometimes is to force quit and reopen. Note that my complaints are non exhaustive and shouldn't be considered the only things I find difficult. I would recommend investing in user testing to fix these issues.
I recently made the move from iOS so I had to spend a lot of time researching Android apps. Talon is by far my favourite Twitter client for Android. One pet peeve: A lot of times when you scroll down fast and reach the bottom of a list, the app will automatically jump you to the previous view, even if there was a Show More option available... Would be nice if this feature was in less of a hair trigger, or to have the option to turn it off.
I've had this app for years and loved it, but viewing any kind of media on it is a true test of patience anymore. You can literally wait minutes for a single photo to load and it still won't, regardless of your network speed. Download a pic and it won't even open the photo when you click on the notification when it's done. WAY too much effort and time wasted to do such a basic thing. I don't want to switch apps, but this is not even functional for me at the moment.
It's pretty, and I've tried really hard to like it, but it's just not for me. The primary deal-breaker is the navigation. Basic features like reading replies are unintuitive and just generally difficult to find. Worse, when dragging one's finger on the screen in order to scroll, if you don't stop scrolling *immediately* upon reaching the bottom of many views, the app interprets that as a request to go back to the previous screen! This makes using the app a generally frustrating experience.
Won't let me upload video tweets. Can't click on a person's profile picture to see who likes a tweet. Issues formatting the on screen keyboard when tweeting a pic if I go from landscape to portrait. Late notifications. You only get them when the app is open. I really tried to give the app a chance. It's been about 2 years.
The favorite section never worked, see tweets all on time line but not under favorites.New video player is horrible, 86% of time or won't play more than 15 seconds of videos & phone goes to sleep within 15 seconds of start then have to restart so many times to see anything. Never finish a video over 10 seconds of the size is odd & doesn't rotate back to portrait from landscape
