I downloaded this because the pictures clearly show the Mitchell translation as one of three translations available. Sadly this is not true. Extremely dissapointed.
Your picture shows it displaying the Mitchell translation and its not in the app! False advertising.
Shows Mitchell translation but when downloaded his translation is unavailable. Uninstalling
Always liked McDonald. Bart Marshall is nice too. Lots, including Marshall, at "Terebess Asia Online"... Also, for those who want the Mitchell trans., look up "Tao Te Ching + apk" online and download v2.0. It HAS Mitchell's version.
This translation is pretty bad, there are much better options in the bookstore. This translation is weak, and loses the weight and teachings of the text
The language is very good. Translation contain the essence of Lao Tzu, i also see other books but they spoil the essence of Lao Tzu in translation. But please fix widget issue, its not give quote.
Placed the widget from this app on my homescreen. At first works fine but then everytime I go to look it has stopped working.
Two translations, search, clean UI. What would be great is the app remembering the last chapter read and had a bookmark feature. Thanks for the great app.
I had a previous version that was wonderful. Got a new phone and downloaded it again and this version has a new long-winded translation that is very unfaithful to the spirit of the Tao. I own dozens of translations and this is the worst. Uninstalled.
The book has the Legge translation by default which reads very awkwardly. Switch over to the McDonald translation and it's great.
Description clearly shows three translations which includes Mitchell, but the actual app does not have the Mitchell translation and only has two translations. Hasn't been updated in almost two years. Removing app from device.
1. No ads, no intrusive permissions. :-) 2. This app is simply 2 translations of the classic. This serves if you don't have or want to carry a physical book, or want to share quotes. 3. Translation: Gender neutral translations of "Master" include "Sage," "Teacher," and "The Wise". I suspect that the Mitchell translation was dropped because of copyright issues.
Such perfect pointing to the inner stillness...love this translation , and this simple app, nothing needs to be added to the tao, so the simplicity of the app and its ease of use is in perfect harmony with the pointing within its words.....
Not sure why the widget needs to take up so much space on the screen. Needs to be resizable. Also the widget mostly says no quotes at this time and crashes when pressed.
Great app for regular Tao readers. Would love to see more public domain translations. (It was great to have the Mitchell translation right on my phone, but it makes sense that it's gone now...)
Hi, i found it very simple and clean, its great for read, i downloaded the app cause you had the Mitchell translation in your screenshots. Do you take out that translation for good? can the translation come back?
This is a very, VERY poor attempt at translation of the Tao.
App was fantastic until you removed the Mitchell translation. Add it and it's 5 stars again!
But more Translations would be nice. Especially a Translation into German Language would be recommended.

I rarely review apps. I was laying in bed wishing I had my book when I thought there must be an app for that. The one I tried before this was rated higher but not good. I love the random feature, just like flipping to a random page. Thank you for this.
