Tao Te Ching

Don't normally rate apps, but I am very pleased with this translation of the Tao Te Ching. I've been a Tao enthusiast for over a decade now and my most used version is the translation by Stephen Mitchell. This app's translation is very comparable to his and the format is very simple... Just a nice scroll and nothing fancy. Just what I wanted for my phone. No ads either, which is always appreciated. Thanks so much for making this available!

To preface, I translated the Tao Te Ching, using the six existing manuscripts. This app does not contain a translation of the Tao Te Ching. The poems, as I refer to them, are recklessly and severely truncated. A translation is as good as the paradigm of the translator. A translation may not reflect the manuscripts. This suggests that the translator has not done due diligence. Tools to translate it: the six existing manuscripts and the MDBG Chinese dictionary. I also used Zhongwen.

Could use some touch-up on the translation and visual design, but overall a good, simple, non-confusing app.

I have several apps that teach the Tao. Their interpretations frustrate me because I can't make heads or tails of their meanings. This app is pure gold. I can finally understand what the Tao teaches.

It's the tao te ching, for free in a easy to read app that takes up little space in your phone what's not to like?

When I read to the end, I realize that I was following an eternal loop of Tao and Te, that reflexes part of true spirit of this remarkable classic!
