The app has unexpectedly shut down, I can still click on the app but all I see is a black screen. I have only used it for a month. They should have some type of way for their users to download stories or transfer stories to Wattpad. At least send an email telling them that they're shutting down or something. Been through both Wattpad & Tap Customer Service, both are very poor. I need to find a way to get my story back, I wasn't even finished with it. 1 chapter/scene was a draft before this.
Whenever I try and search for a topic or genre of story using the search bit, it comes up with nothing. I used to have the app and it used to work fine, but now it doesn't. I also couldn't even read a full story without getting a membership or waiting 20 minutes. I'm disappointed, as I love wattpad and I used to really like tap, but now it's gone completely downhill. I think the bugs need fixing and that you should be able to read without being made to wait or get a subscription.
Really cool! But I have a few suggestions: Why not doing a "chapter" system for the readers? And maybe add notifications, so we can know when our favourite stories are updated. Also, the interface isn't really easy to use. Some of my friends are beginners and they all say that it's pretty hard to understand at first... Thank you for developing this app thought.
Not as good as I expected. I inatalled it thinking that it was as good as Wattpad. Boy, was I wrong. I uploaded my story but the preview thing didn't show all the text. I searched for my story which didn't pop up either. I like the concept of this app, but it needs a lot of improvements. If it's such a problem, just combine it with Wattpad. So people can have a choice between tap stories or full written stories.
It's a good app so far but i have a few problems. 1, user stories section won't load, 2, you can't put your story out there so making them are pointless, 3, why do we have to pay to read more, You only read about 10 pages and then it will stop you, 4, The app get's pretty boring so i would recommend that you added for features for both people who payed and people who didnt, 5, let us change the color of the characters colored names, the colors repeat themself and makes it confusing to read Thx
Last time it was working well, you were able to search on what you want to read. Nowadays, it doesn't work anymore which I am confused about and that when looking for user stories, you're unable to load the page which is a big no. I hope that you would fix the issue or bug as this is getting kind of annoying to handle and we're unable to explore the app more than we used to be able to.
This has interesting stories and a nice look, but I can't get out of the introduction story. It's extremely frustrating. Also, the app makers make you pay for almost everything. Once you start tapping through almost half the conversation, you are forced to wait 20 minutes or get Premium.
Would be great and all, but the problems are VERY glaring. I wanted to find something like what this app offers; to make text-based stories and share them. But its offly useless on the sharing aspect... the search bar is broken, you can't find new stories or even your own. And since your own can't be found, no one finds it and even if they did... the "taps" don't update so you have NO idea if anyone has been looking at your stuff. Not that anyone can comment or like or anything anyway, either.
Used to love this app. I had a story in progress but had health issues come up and lost complete access now somehow. The app no longer works at all. Won't let me login, nothing. I am completely broken by this. All my hard work is gone.
I'm having problems with the app right now, when I opened the app all it showed was "failed to load home, tap to retry" screen, my internet connection is strong. I tried signing via email and phone but the same screen just keeps showing. I tried pressing the tap website link in Tap by Wattpad's twitter account but there was just the error screen. Please help😭
Honestly it's kinda sad how they just abandoned this app. It had a good idea and it was kinda unique but many people including me have many problems with the app for example you can't search anything because the search bar(is this how it's called?) doesn't work. The last update ever was in 2019 and the creators don't even look like they wanna update it. It had potential.
Don't get me wrong - I like the concept. Tapping seems easier on my phone than swiping to turn pages, and it works. Great! What I don't like is you just get into a story and THEN you get hit with the "need to pay to continue" notice. I wouldn't have installed if I'd known that. As it is, despite the fact that I LIKE the story I was reading, I'm uninstalling. I don't mind paying for a story I like. Just tell me up front, okay?
I thought I would be able to make a choose your own adventure story, but this app makes it seem like the text is always from a phone. Like the stories are text conversations. That's quite limiting. There would be a lot more opportunity if you could customize the format. It would make this app really popular.
I love this app but there are a ton of bugs to be fixed. The main and important one is the search, it takes forever! My net is about 2GB or something. It's still not working. I checked some reviews and most told this problem fix thisASAP or I'll change the app rate to 1 star. Hope you fix it. I tried reinstalling but no work. Please fix it. I don't know why these developers just abandoned the app! This app was cool and briliiant but just need a it of bug fixes!!111!!
A Good App but lacking something. Its the app ive been searching for. But it would be really nice if we could read it offline. But the stories where we need to pay, cannot be downloaded offline. And also, it would be really nice to add a comment feature so that we could communicate with the other readers and with the author too or there would be reaction feature with (laugh, cry, angry, wow, & heart) on every chat bubble. Maybe if you could add those things, I'll post a 5 star!
Had it before. Really fun at first. But you'll read 10 messages tops then have to wait 20 MINUTES! then after waiting read 5 more and have to wait again. For someone who can't pay for things often...it makes me mad that I can't read a part two of any story. The only thing thats really fun is how you get to make your own stories. Other then that I honestly wouldn't waste your time on "TAP"
The overall format is nice and I often get to see cool content there. However, the only thing this app lacks is diverse tools and features that writers could use in creating stories (I am a writer and I plan to write three interactive stories there). I hope the developers either add more features or at least walk us through if we have missed something
Things gets so boring waiting for 20 mins can't we get a watch a video option to speed things up or something? You advertise something that isn't even available unless you started PAYING, and a lot I might add. I can still understand the Premium stories but why can't we also use the other feature without paying and not be stuck in a plain text story. Premium acc makes sense(somehow) but for people(specially students) like me who uses Tap for like 1-2x per week or few hrs a day it is a bit pricey
by now you should know wattpad does a poor job with making their apps functional and less buggy, this one justs buries the bar. you'd think 3 years since release, they would have caught on its flaws, but no — it is hard to use (can't write interactive stories), search feature is broken, not integrated w the existing wattpad. one word: messy
I love the app and the stories are interesting but i keep getting like ten taps and then it says im out again. Someone needs to fix this because you cant even get into the story before it tells you your out of taps again. All of the other chat story apps ive tried have allowed me many more taps. Please fix. :(
Tried it. Wasn't a fan of the text message like choice style. Especially if I wanted to create my own interactive choice game. Was hoping you can at least make it like a novel like style but no it seems like Text Message style is the only one on here.
these days it always says that the home page is failed to load. there's a LOT of improvements you can do: like knowing how many taps are in a certain scene, not just the whole story + cant they 'vote' for a story or comment? + can we have a full view of the desc of a story? since some descs are longer than what we see on the preview. when i click on a story, it goes immediately to the first scene. lastly, can we please have a favorites tab? since we don't necessarily finish every story we open.
I used to like this app, but the search button is not working. No results show up when I want to search something. I have also expressed this to customer support but so far no reply has been given. Please look into it asap as I really want to start reading stories through the app
I was had to close the app because it messed up when I went to publish my story and when I went to go back on my account it wouldn't even load... I like wattpad but fix tap I would love to read stories and not wait 20 minutes to read more I am sorry but I would NEVER recommend tap to ANYONE! If I could had photo evidence I would.
I say Wattpad's better for obvious reasons I think the only way it could be really good, is if it was able to make visual novels, here you basically just...tap, it'sin the name. Also it's be cool if writers can actually implant audio after a certain part of a dialogue is sent,just for the sake of mood and atmosphere.
Unless you're planning to pay out a completely unreasonable price for what should be basic things then dont even bother downloading this. I was asked to pay for a membership to view an image and to actually find out the ending to a story. This is honestly just a cheap money factory for wattpad and im worried that the wattpad app is going to follow the same direction. just use ao3 instead of wattpad and anything instead of tap
Used to be great. Suddenly stopped functioning within the last 6 months and support has been absolutely no help whatsoever. I've lost years worth of drafts. No alerts or notifications from Wattpad about shutting the app down. Complete waste of time spent on the app since they decided to abandon it without letting anyone know.
