When I subscribed to "VIP" 3 days ago, the app displayed: "Failed to update VIP status. Please contact support." So I followed the in app process and contacted support. Three days and 9 emails later, including proof of purchase screenshot of my Google Play Store receipt, and verifying that I have not, in fact, canceled my subscription, and I still cannot use the app. The issue has been "escalated to the payment team" for 2 days now - not a good way to start off a subscription with a customer.

I'm really getting tired of constant nagging to upgrade when half the time I just see a spinning loading icon. It never loads. Usually restarting the phone works but not always. In addition, sometimes images don't load. The lack of the ability to leave anything but a like as a reaction is dumb. Go to the main site, multiple reactions available. Tapatalk app, 1 type. It seems like these guys are trying to raise enough money from upgrades to pay the coders to fix a broken app. This is backwards!

Random music plays while scrolling thru posts. Will be viewing threads and topics and randomly music that seems to be associated with ads will start playing with no way to mute or turn them off, even though there isn't any ad visible on the page. Very annoying, especially when I can't see anywhere in the settings to disable audio.

Originally I got errors on 2 of the three forums I wanted Tapatalk for. Since I paid for it their support contacted me and gave tips on correcting those issues. I'd suggest users search whether or not it will work on their favorite sites because it doesn't work on all. Perhaps nothing will, but I'm not sure that's made clear from the app store.

Loved the Tapatalk app initially, being able to keep in touch with all of my favourite 501st forums was fantastic. But all good things come to an end unfortunately, the app has become very troublesome...Huge delays in getting notifications (if at all), app crashing on a regular basis, and most recently I've been completely locked out of the Sith Lord Detachment forum, with no apparent fix in site. I pay for this app, but think the time had come to cancel my subscription.

Cannot login to boards when logged in to the app, keeps bringing up a message saying Network Error. Edit nov 2020: can now login, appears to be working normally. Edit March 2022 Network Error again and unable to log in.

Having to log in every time without fingerprint ID or similar shortcut is tedious. Easier to use a browser.

Mostly useful when it's working right but when it gets glitchy it really gets messed up. Usually requiring it to be uninstalled and then waiting a few days to reinstall.

Much better than managing forums through the browser. I like that searching forums, such as the classifieds, is much easier and effective. Navigation could use improvement as I have to use the back button mostly and not able to jump around.

Absolute trash app. Unmuted autoplay ads, limited photo attachment resolution, constant popups begging for subscription, just all around absolute garbage. Designed to annoy you into paying for an upgrade to a merely mediocre experience. Everyone who works at this dumpster fire of a company should feel bad about it.

I've no idea what's happened with this app but several of the forums I followed have disappeared and are no longer searchable. Why this has got complex with 'groups', I don't know. I just want to type in the name of the forum and subscribe to it (I know the forums that I can no longer find have the Tapatalk plugins installed), not go through the 'browse automotive and vehicles group'. Used to be a very easy and reliable app to use, now it's just money money money!

I really dislike this app and I've been using it a long time. Frequent crashes, failing to load up pages after ages of buffering and loss of passwords. All irritations I could do without.

Doesnt stay up to date with refreshing. Makes you pay for a premium if you want to upload more than one photo at a time. It also wants you to pay for a premium membership to upload more than one photo. overall not a great user experience.

This app is good for viewing different forums however there's lots of glitches a lot of time photographs can't be viewed without going to webview seems like there's constantly some kind of issue hopefully they will get all this stuff ironed out.

Pics on any forum always have trouble loading, sometimes I can see all pics someone posts but if I sign in they all disappear with a "broken image" icon and then I'm asked if I'd like to join the ad-free version. Not really.

Great app..makes things simple, downside is apps just get stuck in a loading loop, messages don't show in your inbox..a world of issues thought it was network related but turn out it's the app

Good app. Makes it much easier and faster to upload images from mobile.

I tried to upgrade to a monthly subscription and it failed every time.

Would be great if it didn't have so many connectivity issues. It's always getting stuck loading, even when all my other apps are online and working fine.

Love the app's default behavior of showing images for threads with image content in them when scrolling through forums, but where's the option to jump to the thread with that specific image? Maybe an option to view all image content per post, like a gallery of sorts, would be a nice addition to the app

Easy to use and understand, which is great. It's not getting a 4 or 5 star review because it's obnoxious about asking for money. I actually am now a paid user but only because it's difficult to deal with if you aren't paying for it. The free version limits how many photos you can upload at once, puts a monthly cap on image uploads, no gifs, and limits photo sizes to basically thumbnails. The ads are also pretty annoying, only because they're the kind that pop out of nowhere as you scroll.

With each update they remove more and more features, forcing people to the Pro version. I didn't mind the ad supported version, but the app is becoming so crippled that it's hardly worth using. Uploading only one picture at a time, limiting the number of pictures you can upload in a month, the list goes on and on. Update 4/15/2020: The last few releases have been extremely unstable. The app keeps crashing with the latest version.

In the last month, the ability to upload multiple pictures at once has been removed (you have to select it one at a time), it crashes far more often when trying to open a Chrome/IE/FFox link, the uploadable picture size has been capped... I mean, come on. Just go ahead and remove the standard version and force people to buy Tapatalk Pro if that's how you're gonna treat us.

It's simple and I do like it. However, I wish I could change my profile from the app. I have to go back to the original website/forum to update. Also, the way the ads pop up are annoying. I understand they pay the bills and allow the app to be free. But sometimes the ad drops or slides in and is a bit harsh. Also, wish ads could be customized to my interests.

Works worse every time it updates. I can deal with the ads but they take more features away on a monthly basis it seems. Can't download images anymore, image uploads are capped, very annoying pop ups, all this from an app that I've already purchased. It worked wonderfully back in the day and it was free. Now they want a monthly fee. Been using it for years but it's hardly worth using any more. Time to uninstall and go back to the browser. It's a shame because it's a lot easier to navigate forums

Freezes quite often and won't show pictures in threads. Pictures will show up just fine when you're not using the app (viewing the threads via webpage works fine). Regarding the freezing issue, you have to force stop the app, and that only resolves it sometimes. Its pretty frustrating. Its alright, but I'm thinking of uninstalling due to the issues. It's not worth the subscription fee, for sure.

I used to like this app even though it had some bugs on the searches and notifications, but now the app has gotten really bad. Select one topic from a search and a completely different topic pops up...nearly everytime...yes, really. I'm starting to lose my patience with it and had it not been for the multiple forum boards that I already have setup here, I would have switched already. But I suspect that I'll be on the lookout for an alternative real soon...

This used to be really good app but then they added a "Kin Rewards" feature which keeps popping up constantly and a thing I am not interested in at all but I don't seem to be able to turn it off. I also seem to end up having "posting failed" come up at times but when I go back into the thread the post appears three times. Please can you fix this as this used to be a good app but these current bugs and this new "feature" are really annoying.

It is nice to have easy access to the forums I am in. But if it keeps offering video ads, I'm going to be deleting. I don't always have wifi access, and it will play video ads even while I'm posting a repl. For the first long while I used it, it was just image ads that were annoying, sure, but able to be worked with. Now it's CONSTANT video ads, and when you try to mute them, it sends you to the "Pay $4.99/year April deal for no ads." Be smart with the ads or you'll lose people.
