This app is utter garbage. To begin with, this is the actual app Seagate Global Access uses if you want to use your expensive NAS device on Android. It has not been updated since 2012. It does not have the ability to just play a file such as a video without downloading the whole thing to the phone. If you want to upload photos, it has not sort of integration or ability to upload pictures from a monitored folder. It is all manual More than that, lets say you want to upload all of your pictures, you cant for instance, upload your camera folder, or anything, you have to go in that folder, and more than that there is not even a select all feature, you have to click each and every picture one at a time. This app could be so much more with very little effort, Seagate and Tappin threw in the towel.
You expect people to pay for an app that never been updated. Outdated layout bugs looks naff. Limited functionality. I can do more with FTP!
Been using successfully for 4 years, but recently it seems to not be able to access some folders, possibly timing out while reading directory of a large volume or folder.
Please update it.. better than seagate programs
I wanted to use this because I have an iPhone and an Android tablet and wanted a program that could bridge the divide. The iPhone app worked well enough for music but would not stream movies. The Android app on a Nexus 7 suffered from regular connectivity and reliability problems and became too much trouble to be worth using. . For my iPhone, I am sticking with Stream To Me, which works very well for music and transcodes video for quick streaming. Not sure what to do with the tablet so I can stream movies.
Just heard about this app today. Installed on my phone, signed up, finished the setup via email. Complete access to my computer. Great! No more trying to remember to put a file on dropbox so I can access it later. Now it is ALL at the tip of my fingers, no matter where I am.
I was able to get a document to my phone while in a taxi in New York. Great app. No need for a cloud with this app
For me at least it doesn't work. I used to use home pipe for a really long time but then I stopped and when I came back to it it was updates for TappIn. And I can't seem to login into the computer. I can log into the phone app not the computer.
This app is very nice. Works exactly as described and allows me to stream music off of my desktop at home.
The blurb gives the impression that files can be accessed even with the computer in standby mode (presumably by waking it up) According to the support pages, they can't. So yes, it's a cloud, if you're happy to leave your PC on for two weeks when you go on holiday.
very simple to install and to use. Just missing some usual features of file manager functionality.
Helps me not have to lug around my laptop now. Anything I need on my laptop is now at my fingurtips on my phone

Installed the app, installed on my PC, set up an account, and lo and behold, I can't sign in from my PC. I can sign in from my tablet, but not my computer. Turns out the issue I'm experiencing has existed for just over a year, yet has somehow still not been resolved. Obviously poor support, therefore this app is not worth bothering with to me.

Do not waste those MBs on such download. Seagate has shocked me.. I got seagate central, and there is no way to remote access anything through any of the apps given by seagate or other 3rd Partie softwares. Seagate central keeps being undetected after a short while from the network group .. have to restart over and over again.
