This is probably the best to-do app out there. It has everything I wanted: collapsible subtasks, nested subtasks, start times distinct from due times, multiple lists, a handy widget, plus tons of other features I didn't even think I needed. It's extremely customizable, which is a hugs plus for me. Thank you to all of the devs who put so much work into it.
An excellent to-do list app. It's open-source, which is always a plus. It has a lot of features and is highly customizable but isn't a cluttered experience; the interface/UX is quite intuitive. And the developer is apparently a lunatic who does nothing but work on this app, because it's constantly receiving substantive updates. It's very impressive.
After the latset update, the widget froze, so I removed it and tried to add it to my homescreen again, only to find it had disappeared from the widget list. It had been my favorite tasks app up until now, and I've tried them all. The widget is an important part of my daily routine, and I hope this will be fixed. Edit: thanks, that fixed it!
I've been using tasks (previously astrid) for about as long as I've used smart phones and it really is the best. great amount of customization but still very user friendly. It's open source. Integrates well with Google's ecosystem (and probably others but haven't tested). All around great app.
😡Disappointed. Can't add tags or quick time. No stats!! Just made a long task and added like 100 subtasks only for them to be arranged randomly that is the dumbest feature ive ever seen. What's the point of adding tasks if there is no order. Ams then I had to drag and position them but nope the app automatically moves them in alphabetical order. Uhm who does tasks in alphabetical order weirdo? I'm just disappointed
Best ToDo app. Open source: Full privacy! And free, without ads! Beautiful UI. UX designed to get things done fast, in a few taps. Quick to snooze, quick to reschedule, permanent notifications. Customisable widget available. Custom lists and filters are great for organisation. Extra features are also present for paid users. A few missing features I'm waiting for: Proper 24hr clock UI, snooze info in UI, NLP-based auto-filling of task parameters (via voice and text), quick delete and recycle bin.
I dont understand why a very basic app that yoy have to pay a monthly fee. At 3.00 a month for a basic task app is ridiculous. aCalender+ you pay a one time fee and thats it. And aCalendar+ has Calendar and Tasks and has way for features. Not only does it work with NextCloud but other providers too. Im a developer and have created numerous iOS apps. i spend thousands of hours developing too. And all nees to put food on the table. But this monthly subsciption for a very basic app is totall bs.
I can't express enough how great this app is. Clean UI, open source, free (if you choose to pay, it's pretty cheap), syncs well with Google Tasks, contantly getting new features. Really amazing, highly recommended.
pretty excellent for what it is, which is not easy. simple interface, nuanced, sophisticated. wish there was some sort of family subscription option, otherwise this would be 5 star review.
Free, no ads and open source. And is one of the rare apps that understand how repeating tasks should be handled within the UI. Also innately offers backup to local folder. This dev gets it. I also hope he gets lots of support for this work.
Great, very powerful or very simple app. As you make it for yourself. In my case, I just created a few different lists and created shortcuts on the desktop for each of those. Occasionally I set reminders, when I need them. Regular updates, but most importantly - I haven't noticed any bugs. The last menu update made it even better. Great work.
Does everything I want without any extra cruft. Good reminders, unlimited subtask nesting. I've even started using it for jotting down simple notes. The only thing I wish were clearer is how to set up filters (e.g., it's a little hard to set up a filter that pulls items from multiple lists that all have certain properties), but I grant that that's a pretty specific power user feature.
The best Google tasks app by miles. Just wish I could disable red text on overdue tasks on the widget, it spoils theming. Edit: don't really understand why the menu bar was moved to the bottom by default for all users. Adding an option is one thing, as is making it the new default for new installs, but changing it for existing users is a bit weird. Glad the option to move it up remains though.
It's OK for a straight forward task list sorting app using filters and tags much like many others but the best thing about it is the TODAY filter which can quickly be added to any task which will then show up on the widget with any other TODAY tasks. It's a good way to keep an eye on your progress or plan the next move without opening the app. You can also add from the widget and there is a gesture option to add in most launcher or app launcher settings as well. It's good.
2020-06-09: This is not just a good app, it is extraordinary good. I have used todo list apps for many years now, many of them quite good. This one exceded my expectations. Why do I like it so much? Well I think mostly because: 1) Sophisticated ergonomy 2) Highly customizable 3) Smooth handling repeating tasks 4) Intelligent solutions for subtasks 5) Open Source Try it and see for yourself! 2022-03-20: I still have the same opinion.
I love off the reminders from this app. basically perfect for those who prefer task lists to calendars for everything. Repeated tasks, reminders, notes, priorities, all work seamlessly.
My every-day app for my daily to-dos and long term tasks. I use the widgets to hold myself accountable for certain tasks, and it also has features for making recurring tasks to make this easy.
This app is fantastic, sees consistent updates and it's only making a good thing, better. Love how many options there are for customizing the widget and the general feel of the app. The only thing that's missing for me is proper integration with my Galaxy Watch 4, I'd love to be able to make new tasks from my watch. This app deserves 5 stars, regardless. Fantastic work, developer!
Back to five stars after latest update. Sort is back to normal behaviour (complited task were unsorted). Only thing left is that Search could be improved. Position for input should be below. And it's searching trough all lists. Would be great if you'd have additional option to search inside particular list only. But overall it is the best app for tasks in my 10 years of using various apps.
Great task reminder app. I don't use anywhere near the full capability but it gets the simple things right which is harder to find than you might think.
Very functional when you get used to using it. I found the setting of days and times and reminders a little confusing at first but have now got used to it. Having to select the due date then a reminder date separately. On the whole i like the app, keep up the good work.
entering times is cumbersom & the navigational menu could have more options - SO you can make it easier to visualise and organise → but it still has the most functionality than any other task planners I've tried so far
Perfect app coz it shows notifications. Also it has many more functionality than it's peer apps. UPDATE: Used this magnificent app for more than 2 years. But now, I have to keep this app OPEN in background to receive notifications. (And yes, I've given this app every permission it'll ever need). Also there's no web app available :( This is not the case with google tasks and tasks (by Pocket Brilliance Limited). Side note: One should never use Google tasks because it doesn't have a search functionality!! Tasks by Pocket Brilliance Limited is best because after becoming a premium member, you also have access to a web app!!
Dislike since recent upgrade. The menu bar disappears when scrolling and can now only see first 2 lists in the menu so need to scroll more to get to lists further down the list. Small issues, but annoying to me as I often switch between different lists
I really like this application. it's easy to use, very customisable and receives updates frequently. The fact that is also open source is a great plus. Kudos to the developers.
Great app! Please add a calendar view of our tasks. I would re-subscribe to support and change to five stars.
I like the app overall it offers a lot of features for free. But for some reason the app doesn't store completed tasks and when you setup a repeating it just reshcedules the old rask instead of completing the last one and creating a new one. Maybe there is a way to turn off this weird behaviour. Edit: Thanks for the quick reply I am still able to view the completed task in google calendar and task app but not recurring tasks. Really good job on the app btw.
