They kind of force you to get a paid subscription with making most videos only appear for the people with subscription, and by letting you save a limited number of videos. But sometimes you can find even better tutorials on youtube, and you can make a note with all the links to the videos to still kind of save them. I hope it helped all the people that don't want to pay as well ;)
Hate the new update. Earlier, I was able to search for recipes according to different categories which was so damn convenient. This new version has videos which nobody is interested in and I can't even find what I'm looking for. Get the old version back with concise videos and texts of recipes! It's easier to follow them that way. Thanks!
really liked this app.... until they completely changed it. I had the app bc I loved the individual recipes and also bc it was free! now it's only shows and all of my favorite videos are gone, especially the recipes that I wanted to make at some point in the future. I understand the company needs to make money, but maybe at least create a second app that has everything the last version did. Really disappointed.
My partner and I used to absolutely love this app and used it all on a regular basis. Unfortunately since it recently updated it has turned into a bit of a mess, cant find new recipes easily and generally unintuitive. Very disappointed and we hope it reverts back to it's superior version at some point.
I'm beyond disappointed and frustrated. I just had to cancel my paid service&will now uninstall this app, which I actually love&would give at least 4 stars, prior to my recent problems. I sent literally 6 emails requesting help, in detail, as well as,feedback. I received a reply each time stating my problem was being reviewed and someone would get back to me right away. No one ever did!! I stopped being able to sign in&kept getting error messages so I couldn't save anything, etc. Just sad now..
I downloaded an older version of the app online. It takes 2 minutes and I can watch all the short recipe videos again. Make sure you turn off automatic updates. I'm not paying to watch their stupid shows and they really did themselves a disservice by focusing the app around that
This app used to be phenomenal by providing hundreds of recipes with easy access and navigation through the app. It looked cleaner and was user-friendly. However, since the update, the app is no longer free. It also turned into a streaming service for cooking shows rather than video recipes. Highly dissatisfied with the creators of the new update as the app design looks gross, and disappointed in Tastemade's decision to turn into a streaming service. Would give zero stars if I could.
Wow this is not the app I want at all. I dont go to tastemade because I want them to be like Hulu or Netflix - I go to tastemade for good recipes and simple videos. I can't even search something like "vegetarian" and get video results, let alone recipe results. I'd understand if they wanted to charge a small fee for access to their recipe library, but this change makes no sense. Cant even find a section with their recipes.
I used to love this app, but after the update it's ruined. I only wanted the recipes but now you can't even look at them without paying for a full subscription, which is asinine. If you want a paying subscription plan, model it after Spotify not Netflix.
It is a good concept. I am a fan of Struggle Meals and on the app it has only Season 1 on it when YouTube has 5 sessions on it. I do like to be able to print out the recipes and I don't have that option with the app or from YouTube. You can get the recipes in the description for some but not all.
I have an existing account for which I forgot the password. Despite multiple mails, developers never reverted back with a help and app doesn't allow to reset password. Worst app ever, anyone can experience. Recipes when searched using app nowhere to be found.
I had this app for a while with a lot of great recipes saved. They made the transition to where you have to pay to watch most videos and I lost access to some of my saved recipes. I think they lost sight of why people download these apps.
Seriously? The last update ruined everything! What about the shows? I have netflix and YouTube for that, I lost my lists cause now we have to pay, pay... for this shows!? What do you guys thinked when decided to change everything? People downloaded this because we want RE CI PES. Unninstalled
Awful after update. Now wants me to PAY for stuff I didn't want in the first place! If you're going to turn your app into Netflix, you could have at least warned us first and then made a separate app for recipes only for users who came for that content (which judging the reviews would be 99.9% of people). Your recipes were great and I'd constantly look over them to get inspired, and I even tried my hand at them. Don't let this ruin your reputation. Sort. It. Out!
BEWARE, ITS A SCAM! By far the worst customer service experience in my life! I subscribed to a seven-day "free" trial to Tastemade Plus and canceled after one day. Even though, I canceled six days early, I have been charged monthly. Each month, I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Tastemade support does not answers emails. If you try to call Tastemade, their voicemail inbox is full. It is impossible to deal with these scam artists. This is a nightmare! STAY AWAY!
So disappointed. I had a username, saved recipes, could change the languages...the app was perfect. Now you've taken it all away with the only choice to PAY to further go in the app. Uninstalling.
The old app was a great way to search for recipes, watch the videos, and have the ingredient/instructions written out; it used to be my go to. The newest overhaul completely ruined it.
Whenever I am in the categories, if I press my phone or the apps back button, it sends me back to the default page. Imagine being at sushi and having to scroll back down to sushi, then scrolling down to where I left off. Annoying😤
What the hell have you done to this app? Used to be good being able to find a few new recipes to try, but now it's like a version of a podcast app, or Netflix-lite. It's dreadful, please revert it to what it used to be. Definitely uninstalling.
The best recipes & videos! Updated daily, easy to read & comes in many different languages. Unlike other sites that call for ingredients you've either never heard of or can't easily purchase. One of the very best apps.
app doesn't work anymore. am trying to log into my account via the app, I enter my uaername/email address and click next, noting happens. Its unresponsive. I'll just rely on pinterest instead
The app USED to be filled with recipes and how-to videos from many different ideas. Now with the update, you have to be subscribed to look at anything at all. Definitely uninstalled after seeing the update
If I could give no star, I would. I never had a problem with this apps. Now I can't even watch locked show and I have a member for months now. It ask me to subscribe to tastemade and then I go to subscribe it says that I already subscribe. What is the problem? Contact customer service twice and answer. What a joke!
It used to be great but the update makes you pay to look at shows and recipes. It used to have 1 to 5 minute recipe videos for free now it can't even do that. It doesn't recognize my email and lost all my recipes that I had saved.
I used to love this app but then the update turned it into some stupid TV show platform for shows that I have zero interest in. I loved this app for the recipes but I couldn't even find a chocolate chip cookie recipe after the update. Not worth money and not worth my time. Uninstalled this app.
I think tastemade's app is very poor in user experience. It freezer all the time, it's disorganized and has few to none nice features and options in navigation.... where is the social interaction between users?
i uaed to really like this app because it let me search through a large database of good recipes to try, but now with the recent update, it only seems to be videos from cooking shows, of which i am not interested in. While some people may find this useful, i do not and will be looking elsewhere for recipes.
the app was great, i had many saved recipes that I've actually made, however, since the new update i can't log in unless i pay for a subscription and they no longer have any of the recipes i saved through the app. was once a nice useful app, now it's not. very disappointed.
The concept is good. The recipes are new and innovative. The app is hard to navigate and is the only reason for my 2 star review. I would be very far into a category searching and reading recipes when I'd make the mistake of hitting their "back" button instead of my own phone's and it would send me all the way back to their home screen. It sounds small but it was beyond irritating every time.
